I enjoy the book, but not as much I enjoy Love to Hate You.

Yes, it still funny with the characters banter. It also gave me knowledge about "workout" things and IPO.

However, I find that Blake is over reacting. And Gabriel too vulnerable when chasing Blake.

The ending is too rush, I don't see clear resolution for their conflict. Also about Justin, I don't know why there is no more explanation about him. Although he just figurant, I want to see what's happen in his life after what he has done.

It's still good read, but not fun and cute as Love to Hate You (hardly move on from Travis and Samantha).

This was a beautiful read! I loved how feisty Blake was and that Gabriel wasn’t quite as much of a grump as he seems at the outset.

Blake Avery is a self-made entrepreneur, who turned her fitness Instagram into a successful brick and mortar gym - actually self-made, not one of those ‘I turned a million dollar loan from daddy into more millions of dollars’ brats. Which is exactly the sentiment she has when someone compares her to ‘self-made’ Gabriel Mercer, a trust fund kid who turned a million into billions.

This book has some great romance tropes - enemies to lovers, forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine etc. There were a few bits that I didn’t like so much (Gabriel planning the fallen tree so Blake would have to stay with him longer), and I also found that they fell for each other way too fast and it felt a little like whiplash, but the majority was a gorgeous, light romance story that makes for a great summer read.

This latest story by Camilla Isley is a real delight! Blake Avery and Gabriel Mercer are polar opposites in the fitness industry. Blake is a social media sensation who has just opened her first physical gym, whereas Gabriel embodies the traditional approach of hundreds of gyms across the country. Pitched in the media as competitors, Gabriel goes to suss out the competition and makes a complete fool of himself in the process much to Blake's delight! This is an 'enemies to more' story with some unconventional twists along the way. A very entertaining read.

Very cute, a little sassy and sexy but very PG 13. I enjoy a good enemies/rivals to lovers story. The last 25% was a tad predictable but overall it was a good read.

Fun and entertaining slow burn! Blake Avery is a self-made fitness sensation. She started by making fitness videos in her bedroom as a teenager which has grown into a booming fitness business. Gabriel Mercer grew up with everything handed to him. Or so Blake thinks. When Blake publicly disses Gabriel, it starts a feud that neither is willing to back down from. Is there room for both of them at the top of the New York fitness scene?

I love the witty banter between Blake and Gabriel It kept me laughing out loud! Their chemistry was hot, both as enemies and as lovers. I loved watching them fall for each other. 🙂 I want more of Gabriel's brother Thomas (please!) and Avery's bff. Isley always makes memorable secondary characters. Their depth always makes the book feel more real.

Another delightful, witty and fun romcom from Camilla Isley. Loved it!

Romance enemies to lovers pleine d'humour.

I loved and also felt apathetic at times while reading this book - this is my synopsis:

The things I loved:
- How cunning and clever Blake was at times - eg, the debate and during the IPO
- How persistent and open Gabriel's pursuit of Blake was
- Thomas - who was by far the best character and he wasn't even a main one!

The things I didn't care so much for, or found weird:
- Gabriel's secretary listening to everything (creepy)
- At times the story seemed to drag

For the most part, this story is fun and entertaining. Many thanks to NetGallery and Boldwood Books for allowing me to get an early copy - the book is out September 6, 2023.

Characters
Avery is a young woman from an “everyday” background who worked hard to create her business. She’s proud of everything she’s achieved and critical of those who come from money, especially when it comes to how they’ve continued to make money.
Gabriel is the oldest son of a billionaire but chose not to follow in his father’s footsteps. Instead, he chose to start his own business going through the same startup process as everyone else. Except not everyone believes that he’s done it on his own merits, not that he’s really aware of this though since he’s not on any social media.
Storyline
In a groundbreaking interview for Avery, she makes a comment about her competition Gabriel that triggers him storming Avery’s office to find out what she has against him. After their initial meeting, Gabriel is enamoured by her and devises ways to entice Avery to date him. Despite her determination to avoid relationships, especially those with rich men who come from money.
Overall Thoughts
While there are some light stalker vibes at times, their relationship gave me a heap of laughs while also enjoying the character development of both our main characters. I was even really invested in Marrisa’s side story because she seemed so funny!
As the story develops and we learn more about each character, there were definitely times where I felt Avery was over-reacting and needed to remember that each person is an individual. Meanwhile, I also thought Gabriel should maybe have been a little less strong with how he was coming onto Avery, especially his choice of HOW he tried to win her over.
While I personally think a strong man who’s willing to show his affections and try and win a woman over is a good thing, there’s a point where it gets questionable as to whether they’re heading into stalking or not. And at times it felt like Gabriel MAY be slipping into that zone.
In the end though, we finished with some sweetness mixed in with some hilarity that gave the whole story the perfect finish.

Camilla has done it again, a lighthearted romantic comedy with enemies to lovers, slow burn romance and hilarious banter.

'And if I got caught in a blaze with MGM, all that'd remain of me afterward would be ashes'.

Synopsis
Blake and Gabriel are both in the fitness industry, Blake is self-made, while Gabriel comes from money. When Blake makes a comment to an article about Gabriel coming from money - Gabriel sees red.

Venturing to confront Blake at her newly opened gym - he assumes 'Blake' is a man and asks to speak to her father. Low and behold, after a little game, Gabriel realises the woman he met was actually the Blake he was looking for.

But Gabriel can't think of anything or anyone else but her. He makes romantic gestures to try and capture her heart, even attending an advanced ballet class she teaches. But with two people at the top of their industry, will this work out in the long run, or will Blake be burned for letting her guard down.

Thoughts
I loved this book, just what you need as a lighthearted pick-me-up. I am always a huge fan of the enemies to lovers trope, and the chemistry between Blake and Gabriel was sizzling.

You not only get invested in their story, but also the side characters stories - like Gabriel's brother, Thomas, and Blake's best friend, Marissa. I'm so excited to see their stories and follow their journey after this book!

This book is told in both Blake and Gabriel's POV which I always love - seeing inside the minds of both of them and what they're thinking. The texting between them was done really well too.

And the banter! So much good stuff in here that will have you smiling...

'There's still hope of making a proper Christian Grey out of you.'... 'Should I show you my playroom now, or do you want to wait until after dinner'.

This is another highly entertaining book by Camilly Isley.
I loved the enemies-to-lovers-story of Blake and Gabriel. It's fast-paced, entertaining and the chemistry between Blake and Gabriel is palpable. Also some of the supporting characters are very entertaining - hopefully Thomas will get his own book one day.
If you like entertaining fast-paced love stories you will like this book.
I can't wait for Ms Isley's next book.

Blake Avery and Gabriel Mercer are both in the fitness game, her as an influencer and him as a property mogul. Both are rich and both are self-made billionaires. Only when Blake has got there through years of hard work and without hand outs and she goes on the record as saying Gabriel isn't self-made, he doesn't take her accusations lightly.

A lovely enemies to lovers book, it's a sweet storyline with nice characters and just enough tension. I didn't love the whole "she's too young for me, oh actually she's not" element as I found that a bit off putting but that aside, I enjoyed the competitiveness of the pair. Blake's repeated mentions of "you're not the typical alpha-male, brooding billionaire you'd get in books" also amused me.

Overall, an enjoyable romance with likeable characters and a. female lead that holds her own.

Thanks to Netgalley for a free copy in return for an honest review.

What a really fun rom com read, the witty banter between these to made me chuckle. Both are strong characters in their own way and the way they try to best each other is enchanting. Very well written romance story.

The start of the book was strong. We see witty Blake really mess with Gabriel, and it set up a fun dynamic. Then Blake gives in almost immediately as he pursues her, and it just felt like this book could have been so much more.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC.

Camilla Isley is fast becoming a fave romcom author. This book is pacey, sexy, and LOL funny. I adored Blake AND Gabriel (MGM). Loved their meet cute, loved the Manhattan scene and The Billy. Such a fun read. I devoured it.

Camilla Isley delivers again with Not in a Billion Years by Camilla Isley.

The story of fitness gurus Blake and Gabe going from enemies to loves is a fun read. Blake has the wrong idea about where Gabe got his wealth and will her stubbornness to admit she was wrong get in the way of true love? Well, yes...until it doesn't.

Ms. Isley writes engaging characters and kept me interested and wanting more.

This is a fun entry in the billionaire romance trope. I like that the heroine, Blake Avery, is strong-willed. She’s supposedly a new entry in the billionaire club from her over-two million followers on social media which has now allowed her to open up her first physical exercise location in Manhattan. She meets the multi-billionaire, Gabriel Mercer, after she ridicules the idea that he is not a self-made man because he comes from a wealthy family.

They meet and, after some initial clashing, Gabriel has totally fallen for Blake and starts pursuing her, but he has to be careful of Blake’s desire to stand on her own and his own desire to use his money and influence to get closer to her.

If you totally suspend disbelief that Blake has built herself into a billionaire by age 26 solely from her popular yoga and exercise videos and is now ready for an IPO after having just one brick and mortar facility when otherwise, the whole business is built around her personal videos, then you will enjoy this romance about rich, driven, good-looking people falling for each other. It made a fun beach read for me.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

The chemistry in this book was off the charts, and the slow burn kept me tense as a violin cord. I swear at the mountain resort that first evening when they didn’t kiss I was about ready to snap!
But the wait made it all so much better in the end.
I loved this couple, this entire story, the supporting characters. Thomas is so HOT, I cannot wait for his book!!
If you like banter, enemies to lovers, billionaire romance, a badass heroine and a cinnamon roll hero hidden under the grumpy aplha billionaire this is the book for you…
Highly recommend….

“Admiring my pretty face?” he whispers. I frown. “No, worrying about what lurks behind the prettiness.” I can’t read this man and it’s unsettling.

I really enjoyed reading this book and the chemistry between Blake & Gabriel was palpable but when the whole issue with her company cane up, the plot was a mess. There were some financial details and I felt bored because they were streched. Nevertheless, the first half of the book was really entertaining. I liked how Gabriel was relentlessly pinning after Blake and she was taking none of his shit. The blurb kind of made it seem like Gabriel is a grumpy rich prick but I was surprised by how easy going and funny he was. He was also a bit cocky but he only wanted to help Blake and take care of her problems. Blake on the other hand was a good character, hardworking, smart and capable. I liked her personality but sometimes she was too stubborn. Overall, it was a 3.75 star read for me. The writing was engaging and the side characters especially Thomas & Marissa were great too. I can't wait to read Marissa's story because the entire premise of it has already captured my attention!
