This book will fly off the shelves. People are living longer, yet their minds may not be sharp. The first half of the book are fun brain exercises/puzzles to keep the brain sharp. The answers are on the following page. I struggled with many of them. The second half of the book goes into how the foods we eat can hurt and help our brains. How exercise can help, stress can hurt... Some of this I've read before, but those books are more like medical jargon and thick boring textbooks. This book is set with easy to follow pages, I like the format, indented margins, bolded headers... It also has resources with phone numbers and descriptions. The last few pages are for the readers notes. I loved this book and I'll definitely buy it and spread the word that others should get it too. Why work out your belly and body when we should work out our brain as well.
Oh, I love this book! If only I could have it in my Netgalley shelf for a lifetime, because those trick questions on those toothpicks/sticks and trying to solve an equation by moving a stick got me worked up! I can safely say that I aced the word games, but numbers...well, let us keep trying those ones.
Thanks Netgalley for the eARC. This is fun for everyone- and can even be used as icebreakers during meetings.
Brain Games to Exercise Your mind is an extensive collection of mind bending puzzles, problems to solve and other means to masterfully test your brain. Who doesn’t want an amazing book to practice critical thinking.
I really enjoyed this book and how it warms you up to each focus area before getting increasingly difficult. My old drawback is the “cheater” in me likes to turn the page and see the answers, so I wish they were harder to access.

I am a person who enjoys doing puzzles. I like the challenge and the fun of getting something right. So, I was delighted to grab hold of this title as soon as I saw it.
The subtitle of the book explains why this book could be “good” for you. I am all for that but also like that the puzzles are interesting and fun. I think that even if you are not worried about an aging brain. or are young, there are still puzzles here for you.
I like that there are many different types of challenges. It was also interesting that the author explains the rationale of each puzzle before the reader starts it. The format of having the answer on the following page was nice as readers don’t need to go back and forth to the end of the book, as is often the case in puzzle books.
Before getting to the puzzles, read the introduction. There are other sections too, on diet, a suggested morning activity and more.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Humanix Books for this title. All opinions are my own.
