An enchanting children's book that will capture the hearts of young readers and parents alike. The story revolves around Ace, a determined baby who fearlessly explores his home. With colorful illustrations and a sprinkling of humor, the book creates a delightful experience for children, sparking their imaginations as they follow Ace's journey. The story not only entertains but also imparts important lessons on safety, perseverance, and the joy of discovery. It's a perfect choice for preschoolers and early readers, providing parents with an engaging tool to teach their little ones about the wonders of their own homes.
Hey, parents and curious kiddos, listen up! I just discovered this super cute book called Ace's Place: Home Sweet Home, and it's the best! It's all about Ace, this brave little baby who's on a big adventure in his own house. How cool is that? And guess what? The pictures are soooo colorful and fun, they'll make you smile big time! Ace's journey taught me about being safe and never giving up, and that's really important stuff, right? I loved following Ace's footsteps as he explored every nook and cranny of his home. Oh, and there's a bit of humor too - it cracked me up!
Ace spends the day exploring his house and reminding readers of the dangers in each room. The advice is great and the illustrations magical.
However, the words are too complicated for a young child and the dangers are not shown. The pictures are of Ace doing the right things. I don’t believe a child will understand what is being warned about. I do believe this book has potential but it needs to portray the things that could harm a child and show them what they should avoid. Children are visual learners and don’t have the ability to imagine the scenario being discussed.
I received an ARC from NetGalley.com. This in no way affects my opinion or rating of this book. I am voluntarily submitting this review and am under no obligation to do so.
This book is about the adventures of a one year old baby named Ace, who ventures out from his nursery to explore all the other rooms in his house.
To be honest, there isn't much of a story here, since the narrative basically consists of a line or two informing the reader of whatever danger Ace successfully avoids in each room.
While appreciating the importance of teaching children, for example, about the need to avoid touching a hot stove, I think it could perhaps have been done with a little more humour and creativity.
On the plus side, the illustrations were reminiscent of Pixar's animation, and Ace was cute as a button! So my rating is a 2.5 rounded up to 3.
