What an extremely insightful book. I found The Leaping Hare Nature Almanac by Leaping Hare Press to have a ton of helpful tips. As a beginner I found this to be a great treat of a read, and a light one.

As a registered yoga instructor, I adored the meditation pages! These are a great way to relax. Also featured in the book is information on plants, herbs, and how to use them as common ailments.

As someone who adores trees, I love the depth of information regarding the life cycle of these leafy wonders throughout the year. Another thing I loved is the month-to-month celestial bodies available to be seen. Bright illustrations bring comfort and it’s a great book to cozy up with. I highly recommend.

Thank you to NetGalley and Leaping Hare Press of Quatro Publishing Group for a temporary e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I really wanted to absolutely love this book but it wasn't my favorite. I loved the concept and the cover art is perfect but I found it a bit too difficult to read; it felt a little rushed and crammed and made it difficult to read easily and glean information from it. I'm sure that others didn't have this issue but it may have just been the time/place when I attempted to read this one.

Exactly what I was hoping for. It's where you'll go to look up fascinating tidbits when more screen time is just not on your mind. It's where you'll send kids so that they learn how to appreciate almanacs and nature. It's fully in-depth and engaging. I'm grabbing copies of this for my nature-minded friends this holiday season.

I enjoyed this guide to how to enjoy and be one with nature based on the month and the season of the year. It provides lovely recipes and suggestions to appreciate all that nature has to offer.

The Leaping Hare Nature Almanac has an abundance of information, mental exercises, and reflections for nature minded people. I particularly liked the meditations; they were written similarly to visualization guided meditation would be and it would work so well as an audiobook. It was also full of great information for gardening, but it seemed limited to the UK and to those who can garden. It does have a few sections about urban and community gardening, but most of the tips seemed inaccessible for people without wide resources. It was organized very well and would be good to read month-to-month; reading it all in one go made it a bit repetitive. The illustrations are gorgeous and add to the calming tone of the book.

Stunningly illustrated, this almanac provides a gentle handhold through the seasons. It offers more than basic information on what's happening in the natural world, instead urging you to embrace your role as part of it.

The book is simply written, but not to it's detriment. I can see it being enjoyed by an incredibly wide age range. Even if some of the activities, recipes and affirmations aren't to your taste, there are plenty more that will be.

Just as wonderful as the wellness edition. Stunning illustrations with lots of green and warmth. Trees, plants, vegetables, stargazing.. a beautiful book 💚 Adore it.

This is a beautiful little Almanac. I have enjoyed its peaceful wisdom - of plants, of practices, of relections, of serenity and of ideas. We all need simpled whispered wisdom such as 'when you feel like things are getting on top of you in life, nurturing plants can help you get back in control.' March and 'Observing water in motion makes you mindful of what is required in the present moment.' June
The pictures are cute too.

A gorgeous month-by-month book to uplift the spirit and mind using the beauty and benefits of nature. The book contains Recipes, exercises, natural rituals, and affirmations which are all based on the month of the year and the season. It is bursting with mindfulness exercises, meditation techniques, and practical outdoor activities like cultivating plants and flowers and crafting items. A charming book that makes you feel warm and happy. I will be purchasing a physical copy of this book to  myself and recommending to others who I feel may also appreciate it's wisdom and beauty.

I loved the other Leaping Hare Wellness Almanac and bought it for friends as a birthday gift. The Nature Almanac, set up in a similar way, does not disappoint. I read it straight through but I think the intention is to follow along month to month. However, if you buy it as more of a reference book, you could certainly do that. The illustrations are gorgeous and the color scheme is warm and inviting. The text can be read in short chunks and I think the advice, especially the parts that include urban settings, are really great. The stargazing pages are awesome- I think they are a wonderful addition to the book. Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

This book has beautiful daily prompts to bring nature into your life. I’ve read through a lot of the prompts and I’m so excited to incorporate this into my daily morning routine. Connecting with nature can be hard if you don’t know where to start.

This is such a beautiful book, the artwork is stunning! I really love that it is filled with so many interesting practices and fun facts, incorporating botany, herbalism, astronomy, and more! I definitely want to buy a copy for my collection!

A beautifully designed and illustrated almanac that encourages a greater appreciation and knowledge of our vast and incomparable world. A huge proponent of forest bathing, I was keen to learn practical ways to connect with nature year round. In this regard, this book does not quite deliver. Some of the information and activities provided are just too common, making for a less than interesting read. However, the reflections and monthly meditations are exceptional and well worth picking up the book as a guide through the seasons.

Thank you to NetGalley and Leaping Hare Press for this advance digital review copy.

I am recommending this book for therapy. Sorry kids. The adults will need this book more.

“What is a leaf?”
Yes, that’s right.

The book actually answers patiently and you will get a book with all the seasons of the year so beautifully packed taking you to the most insignificantly significant information about the environment we are all thriving in.

I do not think I will ever need therapy as long as I have this book. If you are someone like me who feels anxious without something to read and depends wholeheartedly on books to calm down or de-stress, trust me you will find the peace when you reach the fourth page. That’s how calming and reassuring this book is.

I know this colourful and informative book on nature is meant for young readers but it has cast a spell on me that no other fiction can. I just need the physical copy as soon as possible.

(I want to do a thesis on this book. But I won’t do it here now.)

This book will bring you so much closer to Nature. Kid you not, be ready to celebrate each page with all the beautiful art that’s there.

The book is describing Nature with all the charm the-best-magician-can kind of spell and I am already under this spell.

I don’t think I will ever recover from this read.

Thank you, you magicians in Leaping Hare Press/Quarto Publishing Group, for the spell. The ARC. Calmed and peaced.

It is easy to recommend this absolutely gorgeous book. Already a nature lover? Feeling like you need more of the natural world in your life? Either way, there is so much to be enjoyed in this beautifully illustrated title.

Garden, stargaze, visualize, pay attention and more in these pages. Readers will hopefully be inspired in their day to day life as they read.

The book is organized by month and season. The authors hope you will dip in and out anywhere that you like. There is always something intriguing to contemplate. Each entry has a theme and icon. To name a few, there are icons representing well being, wisdom, foraging and plant knowledge among others.

Take a deep breath and enjoy. I may just buy the hard copy of this one when it is published.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for this title. All opinions are my own.

If you, like me, are looking for a daily meditation reader, and a focus each month, this is the book for you. It not only has a mediation for each month, but it has information that I find so interesting, about plants and constellations. It truly is a useful almanac based in mindfulness and science. I would highly recommend this to just about anyone who has an interest in those two areas.

It reminds me of a secular devotional that helps me to slow down and think about my life on a day to day basis.

I received this book for free to view from Net Galley for a limited time, but iI am going to purchase it in order to take full advantage of it.

I think this book will be a big hit with many people, especially those who like mindfulness exercises and philosophical waxing. It had a kind of generic feeling to it for me, so much so that I went back to the front to see if there was an author listed or if it was written by an AI. It turns out it was written by an “editorial team,” so it may actually have been largely written by a bot and then assembled into a stylish, workable almanac by staff members.

Each season has a page with large fonts about some element of nature like what a tree or seed is, then some sort of general meditation to think about on that topic, a plant profile and perhaps a project (typically without too much direction) and some sort of advice like to walk in wet weather. There were a few herbal recipes that intrigued me and I wish there were lots more of those.

The book is illustrated throughout with stylized computer art. I thought that was AI as well but an artist is credited with it. There are no photos but the book is heavy with this art, which many people will probably love.

The book does seem to be written for a UK audience. It has advice that won’t work for my Minnesota home, like to plant a tree in January. In general it should be usable for anyone though.

I read a temporary digital copy of this book for review.
