Loved it. A mystery detective thriller set in the early 1970's with a supernatural element to it. Good characters and pacing with plenty of intrigue. A look back to an age gone by keeps you guessing I received this book from Black Rose Writing and Netgalley for a review.

In police work, very few things are what they seem to be. That is also true of the team that Police Lieutenant Alex Wesner has with him. This is a very intriguing look into the life in an endangered area some fifty years ago. I knew about underground fires from coal seams, but had no idea that it was a danger at steel mills. Not riveting in the usual sense because a little time for reflection is needed at times, but certainly gripping.
I requested and received an EARC from Black Rose Writing via NetGalley. Thank you!
