This is a perfect, feel-good, cosy up with the fire and Christmas tree lit behind you kind of book. Perfect Christmas read, simple and easy! This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed and would read more of their work. The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you very much to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.
I could totally relate to the characters in this book, especially the over worked Mammy running the hotel and raising a daughter on her own. The Mammy who is away from her teens for a week - she is heartbroken ,they don't seem to care. And then there are the friends, one broken hearted and out of a job and one, with a huge secret that she may or may not reveal. I absolutely loved this book. The woman are so real, so well written, so believable. I felt for every single one of them. Loved it. Excellent read.
Thank you to Netgalley, the publishers and of course the author for gifting me this advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
Oh my, this filled all my festive dreams - Sarah Morgan, you did it again! I absolutely love all Sarah Morgan books and this was yet another fantastic book. Full of all the festive cheer and emotion and following the lives of four women - Anna, Hattie, Erica and Claudia who meet up for their annual book club and you get taken on a journey down each individual path. This book is the epitome of friendship, love, heartbreak, and coming together when it matters, with the extra sprinkling of all the festive cheer you need at this time of the year.
Highly recommend to all, and its a solid 5 stars from me.
Escape the festive fallout by diving into this book & accompanying a group of book group friends who are also escaping the chaos of Christmas-time!
A wonderful book by Sarah Morgan, a cosy feel-good storyline full of interesting characters which held my interest from beginning to end.
A perfect Christmas read.
perfect reading for a cold winters day. 3 friends on their annual book club holiday, stay at a charming , country inn . All have secrets, will they be revealed? Another great read from Sarah Morgan.
The Christmas Book Club is a wonderful festive read. Right down to the adorable cover. Erica, Claudia and Anna have been friends since they met in college. As is life these friends have got busy living their respectives lives. But every year they meet up for a week and do a book club. Its something they all look forward to every year. All three friends are at a crossroads in their lives, keeping how things really are from each other. This year the book club is happening in december. Erica picks the Maple Sugar Inn in Vermont. A festive inn and not the type of place Erica would pick.
Hattie is the owner of the Maple Sugar Inn, a single mother to a cute little girl called Delphi after her husband passed away. She is desperately trying to keep her husbands dream of the inn going. Its not easy with temperamental staff making things hard for her and as if she is failing her husband.
At the end of the week secrets will be revealed and lives changed. I really loved this book, Sarah Morgan writes warm engaging characters you can't help but fall in love with. Find a cozy spot grab a hot drink, snacks and settle in for a festive read. Highly recommeded for fans of romance.
As a Sarah Morgan Stan I was thrilled to get my hand on this, her latest festive offering “The Book Club Christmas”. This book gives all the festive feels for sure but I did think that many of the characters weren’t developed enough. So Erica’s new sister relationship, while explained, wasn’t explored. Also, I was a little disappointed that there was no actual book club discussion as that’s what drew me in in the first place! However, Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without Sarah Morgan so I’d recommend to all to get those Christmas feels.
The Christmas Book Club by Sarah Morgan, a NetGalley review. Firstly this book has a stunning appealing front cover and secondly it’s now 99p on Amazon kindle for a limited time. Erica, Claudia and Anna are best friends and every year they get together for a book club holiday. However this year is different for them all, for all different reason, reasons that will change them all. I loved this book and didn’t want to put it down. Hands down the best Xmas book I’ve read this year. This book is a great one to snuggle under a blanket with a hot chocolate (or a gin!) and get completely lost in the book. It’s an incredibly easy read, everything about it flows, yes it’s predictable but in a nice way because you want the best for the characters as it feels like they become your friends. The easiness of the read felt like the word were slipping of the pages into your head, like the story was always meant to be. This is a great escape from the chaos of Christmas. I loved Claudia, Anna and Erica, they all had their positives as people and were all likeable but they are their flaws to and that’s what made them feel real and for me made me able to make a connection with them. The setting was stunning and felt like somewhere I would like to visit sometime. Also it was about a book club and I don’t know why but I love reading books where the characters love books and are passionate about books! There wasn’t a huge focus on the bookclub yet it’s at the heart of this book. This book has had glowing reviews and that’s easy to see why, if you already love this author like me, there’s no doubt you will love it and if you haven’t read anything by this author, then don’t sit around go and add it to your TBR pile, you will love it. I will be recommending to all that will listen to me 😂😂 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sarah Morgan never disappoints and I think The Christmas Book Club might be my favourite of hers books to date. It has everything you would want in a festive feel good read. A gorgeous setting, romance, friendship, families coming together and strangers helping each other. I loved every page.
This is SUCH a wholesome read ❤️ it’s like a hug in the form of a book. You will 100% come away from it feeling warm and fuzzy inside 🥰
Hattie is a 28 year old widow, a mother to five year old daughter Delphi, and the owner of the Maple Sugar Inn. Hattie is barely above water. She’s trying to keep her late husband’s dreams alive, but are they actually her dreams too? She is also working with some very difficult members of staff who make her already hard life even harder. Hattie’s life is about to be thrown off course by the arrival of Erica and her two best friends Anna and Claudia.
When Erica arranges for the three of them to hold their annual book club meeting at the Maple Sugar Inn, she has an ulterior motive, and it’s going to shake lives. For all four women, there’s some serious moments of self reflection. Erica is stoic and self-reliant, but that could be about to change as she welcomes some new faces into her life. Claudia has lost her partner and her job in one foul swoop, and has fallen out of love with her passion - can she find it again? And Anna is finding it hard to accept that her twins will soon be leaving home for college and will no longer need her quite so much. Where will it leave her?
This was a great tale of friendship, family, grief, overcoming obstacles, and realising that change doesn’t always have to be a bad thing. All four women learn to embrace change and to put themselves first for once in their lives. It was really heartwarming and endearing. It gave me all the feels ❤️
Throw in a BEAUTIFUL setting, Christmas vibes, an adorable five year old, a very handsome Christmas tree farmer, book talk, and you have yourself a wonderful Christmas book! 🎄
Sarah Morgan is one of my favourite writers & she hasn’t written a book yet I didn’t enjoy.
This one is no exception it was the perfect cosy feel good festive read.
Well written as always with some great interesting characters I was totally hooked.
She always manages to weave such interesting stories that draw you in & hold you to the very end.
This is a story of long lasting friendships & their love of books.
Erica, Claudia & Anna make a point of meeting up each year for a book club holiday & general get together .
They all still hold their secrets close to their chests but will always be there for each other.
Maple Sugar Inn is the perfect place to stay especially for Christmas.
Hattie specialises in making Maple Sugar Inn
a place where her guests wishes & dreams can come true.
Unfortunately she is close to breaking point as being a single mother & running the inn is running her ragged.
As events start to unfold could this be the end of a chapter or just the beginning.
This has a lovely interesting storyline that just holds you & keeps you turning those pages.
Thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful cosy read.
This is the story of 3 friends that have known each other since college. Their lives are very different but they all manage to meet up annually for a 'book club' week.
This year however they are meeting at Christmas rather than the summer & their trip takes them to the Maple Sugar Inn in Vermont.
This is a heartwarming tale of overcoming difficulties & finding family & romance at Christmas. I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it.
Such a Christmassy read, I almost hope that the Maple Sugar Inn is a real place to visit sounds perfect.
Erica has everything together, good job, great life and best friends and every year they go on holiday and have their own book club. This year they are going before Christmas and Erica has booked somewhere very unlike her. Her friends Claudia and Anna love the place but realise she has an ulterior motive for going. Hattie runs the Maple Sugar Inn on her own and is struggling to cope with all the demands on her time and when disaster strikes Erica, Claudia and Anna could be the answer to her problems. With lots of secrets about to emerge will the women be able to cope with life.
Three friends who together find the next step in their own individual journeys. Romance added too. A perfect Christmas read. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me review this book.
A heartwarming Christmas read.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of the book in exchange for a review.
I love Sarah Morgan books and this is the perfect Christmas book. I loved it and couldn't put it down. Hattie is a young widow struggling to keep her country inn running. It was her husband's dream and she's running the Inn as well as being Mum to 5 year old Delphy. Three old school friends, Anna, Claudia and Erica meet up yearly for their annual book club and this year choose Hattie's Maple Sugar Inn. All three friends are at different turning points in their lives and have decisions to make. The friend's lives then become entwined with Hattie's in a surprising way. This book is a lovely Christmas read which is warm, cosy and explores family, friendship, romance, the past and also the future. I loved it! Thank you to Netgalley for the chance to read and review this lovely book.
Christmas with Sarah...pull up the mince-pies!
What can I say about Sarah Morgan that hasn't already be said? A stalwart of romance and of Christmas. Put the two together and you have...The Christmas Book Club. Friendships that must be tested, secrets, beautiful settings...tick, tick, tick!
My thanks to Netgalley and HQ for the reading copy.
another perfect cosy christmas read from sarah morgan!! the multiple povs are written so well & i just loved all the characters. i loved how each character had their own story and how it was all perfectly resolved at the end.
I love Sarah Morgan’s books and The Christmas Book Club did not disappoint. I loved the strong friendship between Anna, Erica and Claudia and their banter, it was so lovely their support and acceptance of one another. The Maple Sugar Inn sounds like somewhere I would love to visit, I really liked Hattie and Noah and I loved the ending. A light and comfort read.
I think what I love most about Sarah Morgan's work is the way she can weave several stories at once without it feeling too much or too little, and the way romance isn't the core of the story but rather the women and their journey.
We have four women, each with their own story to tell and issues to work through. Three are friends already and the fourth the owner of the Inn where our book club takes place.
This makes me want to hop on a place to somewhere snowy and nestle by the window reading with a roaring fire.
I think Hattie's story was my favourite but honestly all were relatable in their own way.
I think Sarah Morgan may be my favourite festive author!
