I received Ghosted from NetGalley to review. The narrator was full of emotion in all of the right places. She really brought scenes to life.

We meet Jillian as she's moving into her new apartment in New York, the mirrored, sex-den of an apartment. As soon as her family leaves, she starts to unpack when a half-naked man appears out of nowhere. Jillian freaks out, throwing things at the man (Daniel). When he disappears she immediately calls her best friend and the conversation turns to science and ghosts! Jillian falls asleep that night wondering about the half-naked man and if he will be back.

When Daniel shows back up the next morning while Jillian is in the shower, things get interesting! Daniel cannot remember anything except that he knows Jillian. Jillian swears she hasn't met Daniel. As the two try to figure out who Daniel is, and how to navigate Jillian's dating life and work issues, they develop a strong bond. Will they figure out who Daniel is and how they know each other? Will one of Jullian's dates be 'the one'? While at times it seemed the book was a little too long, I'm not sure what part I would cut to make it shorter!

SPOILERS AHEAD:
I read 'The Seven Year Slip' a few weeks before reading this book. When we learned that Daniel is in fact a ghost I was convinced he was in a coma similar to 'The Seven Year Slip.' I was pleasantly surprised to find out that wasn't the case. While I don't understand all of the time slips and alternative realities (maybe I need to re-read some of those parts), I love that they were saving each other.

My favorite part of the entire book is Daniel saying that Jillian was his light in the darkness. That he could always find his light!!! At the end of the book, we learn what happens in the alternative and how Daniel made his way to Jillian originally. I love that after only a short period of time, Daniel knew Jillian was the piece to brighten his life.

This is way out of my genre preference BUT I was enthralled. This story offers so much!
Paranormal romance doesn’t even begin to describe the depth contained here.
Fate, Love and forgiveness paralleled my laughter and heart racing suspense.
Did I mention alternate timelines/dimensions and Star Trek fandom.? That one conspiracy co worker that may not be so crazy after all.
I was so invested in the characters I found myself looking forward to them appearing again.
Seriously, I’m blown away that this 14 hour audiobook consumed most of the last 2 days.
I will Be reading Sarah Ready again and recommend this book to every reader I know.
Thank you Sarah for getting me out of my comfort zone.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC of this book in return for an honest review.

This book was so sweet! It takes on so many turns and you are hoping for the best the whole time. It starts off so strong but towards the end it started to fall for me, just a little! This book has a little bit of everything in and the romance is adorable. I would definitely recommend this book! I wish her friend or Fran was in the book a little bit more so it wasn’t so focused on just the romance. The narrator was amazing! She was really captivating and kept the story moving nicely! She did a great job with the different characters’ voices. Would definitely listen to more books from this narrator.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. For one thing, I loved the cover. I didn't think about the title too much which left me a little bit surprised that <spoiler> Daniel was a ghost. </spoiler> Of course, once the ground rules of the book were set, I wasn't at all surprised that <spoiler> they ended up falling in love, </spoiler> as, to me, it was a bit predictable. That being said, I couldn't figure out how it would end up resolving, and I didn't expect the ending.

I loved watching the characters develop and I really enjoyed Sarah Ready's writing style, as well as the narrator's voice. Ready is quite descriptive and paints the picture for you, which for me is a positive but I can understand that it might not be for everyone.

To me this was a very heart-warming book that left me wanting more. My overall descriptive word for it would be 'beautiful'.

Thanks again to Netgalley for an advanced copy of this audiobook.

4/5 stars :)

Ghosted was a sweet romance especially in the first 50% or so. I really liked Jillian and felt like she was a real character. Her inability to talk to men was great through most of the book, although it was not really consistent. I felt like the twists because less believable as the book went on. I realize it sounds like I didn't like this book, I did, but I unfortunately read this right after reading another book with a very similar plot. I really loved our characters, I wasn't sure how they were going to find their way out of the situation they were in, but I was happy the whole time while reading this book!

Jillian has a problem. Actually, she has several. She’s just moved into a questionable apartment, her career as a relationship expert is in jeopardy, and she can’t talk to men…literally. Until she meets Daniel, a hot shirtless ghost who’s apparently decided to haunt her.

I found Jillian to be sweet, earnest and loyal. Why else would a woman who can’t speak to men agree to 150 blind dates simply because they were set up my her beloved godmother. And her deep love for Star Trek was a charming quirk. I didn’t love that there wasn’t an explanation of where her selective mutism came from till the latter part of the book. Knowing that beforehand would have helped me connect with her more.

Daniel remembers very little of his life before becoming a ghost but somehow feels secure with Jillian and that’s enough for the time being. He accompanies her on several of her blind dates, making them more bearable but also deepening their relationship.

The twist in this book is not at all what I had been expecting and I enjoyed the direction the story took. There was the inevitable misunderstanding between Jillian and Daniel, which was brutal and awkward as they usually are, but ultimately the payoff was worth it.

Overall this was a solid story with great narration and I’m sure I’ll find myself recommending it to others.

Thank you to NetGalley and W.W. Crown, Independent Book Publishers Association for an advanced copy in return for my honest review.

Wow this book was a rollercoaster! Thanks so much for the arc!

First off the cover is absolutely stunning! I didn’t really read into the “ghost” hint even though now I see it clearly.

Jillian is a relationship columnist with no relationship experience. She moves into a new apartment that comes with… a hot ghost? Daniel can only be seen by her. In his “hay day” he was quite the playboy. These two form an unlikely friendship. Daniel tries to help this relationship “expert” by guiding her with his knowledge.

After a lot of time together Jillian starts to fall for Daniel. But how can that make sense? He’s a ghost! She can’t seem to get past the strong feelings she has for him. And he seems to feel the same way. Then one day he disappears. She is so lost without him.

Then she meets the real him. Like everything she experienced was a premonition of his possible death. This part shocked me! He was actually alive but now she needed him to remember her & fall back in love with her. We follow Jillian as she tries to use everything he taught her to win him back.

Honestly I don’t love a paranormal or time travel type book. This story was well written & held my attention. I had to know what happened. I loved the narrator. But overall I had a hard time getting past falling in love with a ghost… who was then alive. I’m glad it ended the way it did (although a bit dramatic).

Book Review 📚
Ghosted by Sarah Ready - 4/5 ⭐

A paranormal romance that gets right in the feels! I went in a journey of emotions with this book, and it was so addictive I couldn't put it down. Who needs to socialise anyway, right?

Without giving to much away, we've a male ghost (Daniel) who can only be seen by our female (Jillian). And they set out on a rollercoaster of a ride together, trying to deft the odds of their love and piece together their lives. It was heartbreaking yet happiness all in one.

The characters were described perfectly by Ready, she couldn't of done a better job in trying to imagine the characters. Ready set out the story perfectly and it had a nice pace to keep you wanting to go on until you was done. There was serious effort from the author and was absolutely phenomenal.

Audiobook - the narrator. Wow. Her narrating was amazing! She put so much realism into her work and it wasn't the usual monotonal, annoying, boring narrator! They was she even managed to convey the emotions and feelings that were unwinding were spot on!

Thank you to NetGalley and W.W Crown for allowing me to read this ARC - this is an HONEST review from my own personal opinion.

Rating 2.5 stars

I really struggled to stay interested in this book, the characters were very meh and I really just didn’t care about them at all.

The main character falls into that trip of overly clumsy MC who is just kind of tripping through life and into these cooky situations, in general I’m not a fan of this trope, but this story does a particularly poor job of it. The MC comes off as less quirky and more pathetic.

I DNF this book.

Sarah Ready is fast becoming a favorite author of mine. I’ve listened to 2 of her audio books in the last 2 months and I am loving them!

Ghosted was a bit different than your normal romance book, which in my opinion is great! The characters in the book were very likable. They had such a good connection, that as a reader you could connect with. And the unique storyline was what really impressed me. I really liked how this story played out, I felt Jillian’s emotions throughout this whole story. And Daniel was a fun character, even when you get half way through the book and get a little surprise!

The narrator did great and I would highly recommend this book in audio format or in book form as well.

I can’t get enough of Sarah Ready’s books! I also absolutely love a ghost romance, they’re my kryptonite and this one might well be the best one yet. This book leads you on such a wild ride and since Daniel can’t remember who he is or what’s happened to him, it’s so easy to get lost in the narrative he and Jillian are piecing together. I’m also thoroughly obsessed with their romance, their impossible love story, and in general, Daniel’s character. How he berates people that can’t see or hear him, that he supports Jillian, and how he sees the world. I think I fell a little bit in love with him too.

I have to say, I thought I’d predicted where this story was going pretty early on and I was completely and utterly wrong and I’ve never been happier. I couldn’t have ever imagined the journey that Sarah Ready was taking me on and it was such a creative approach to the ghostly romance. It did go a little slower paced in the middle which was a necessity due to the storyline but otherwise, this had me hooked from start to finish. The audio was also fantastic, and I loved the casting for Jillian - she had the perfect voice to bring her character to life.

I received a free copy of this book. All views are my own.

I really liked how the narrator was able to emphasize the emotions Jillian was feeling, especially in a hard situation. Even when there were men around, her inner thoughts showed how shy she is!
I loved Daniel and Jillian as people and their development, I just wasn’t so hooked on the romance. The ghost sex was a little much for me😂 and I was very put off by the stalker vibes Jillian showed for the second half of the book, as much as I wanted to see them together her “persistence” was too far.

The thing is I love romance, and I really enjoy paranormal and ghost stories. So this really should have been it for me. Sadly I had a hard time getting into the story or the characters.

My suspension of belief couldn't take the sex scenes, and I actually zoned out whenever those scenes came up.

I felt like the book moved fast but also really slowly, if that makes sense. But not in a positive way.

I also felt like the book took a 180 around 60% through.
I didn't like it at first, but opened up and started enjoying it, which is still not great, that I only started liking the book when I was so far in it.

I did enjoy the part where she was pursuing him. The ending was also not bad in my opinion.

I probably wouldn't read this book again.

This was a unique story about a woman who finds a ghost in her apartment and ends up falling in love with him. The author had me guessing how she would resolve the love between a human and ghost who could not touch. It was so sweet how their relationship, although uncommon, created a mutual growth between the two.

The narrator did a wonderful job with the audiobook and kept me engaged with the different voices and intonations.

There were several scenes throughout the books that had an immense amount of detail. While contributing to the scene, it was almost too much detail that took me away from the emotions of the scene.

This romance has a unique twist on the falling in love with a ghost trope.

Jillian is unable to talk to men - men who are alive that is - so when her new apartment is haunted by a half naked man, she finds their connection grows.

If you enjoy paranormal romances, you might enjoy this one too!

The narrative did a really awesome job!

Boy oh boy.. Sarah Ready really threw me off with this book. I still stand my my prior statements I will continue reading any books she writes however, I was not ready for such a paranormal romance. Jillian moves into a new apartment but she’s not the only tenant. A tad confusing but gave me lots of feels. Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this book!

Sarah Ready is fast becoming a favorite author of mine. This is the third book I’ve read by her and they have all been different and so enjoyable. I loved the little journey into the paranormal with this one.

I could not put this book down once I started listening. It drew me right in with wondering what was going on. It was giving me “Just Like Heaven” vibes and I loved it for that. I loved Jillian and her Star Trek loving mind. She was so sweet and such a nerd. I love nerds. And of course I loved the sexy shirtless Daniel! This book kept me guessing and there were definitely a few moments that shocked me because I thought things were going in a different direction. I really loved the narrator for the audio of this book. She sucked me right in and kept me listening until the end.

I honestly can’t wait for whatever book Sarah will be releasing next. It could be anything and the only thing I know is that I will definitely be reading it.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
