Ghosted by S. Ready is the first book in the new series. A witty and fun read that gives all the feels.
Ghosted tells the story of Jillian and Daniel.
Jillian is a relationship expert who can't talk to men in general, tragic.
Just moved to NY she needs new everything.
Daniel is her new roomie in a very special way, just like himself.
Sorry not sorry no spoilers here.
A masterfully written and beautifuully told story that I greatly enjoyed reading.

At this point, I will read anything Sarah Ready writes. I fell in love with this author back in January and she’s now my most read author so far this year. There’s just something about a paranormal / mind-bending romance that just pulls me in - maybe it’s the idea that love is more powerful than space and time? Anyways, I loved this story so much and couldn’t put it down - both MCs were so endearing and Jillian’s character growth was written so well. If you loved The Dead Romantics, The Seven Year Slip or the movie The Lake House, I can’t recommend this enough! I listened to the audiobook for the first half (loved the narrator) and read the e-book for the second and enjoyed both formats.

I absolutely adored Ghosted, I loved the characters and enjoyed the mismatched group of reporters who formed an unconventional family. I have never rooted for a happy ending so hard as I did reading this book.

Whenever I receive a Sarah Ready novel, I can hardly wait to begin the story. Once again, she has managed to create a truly unique book, with two mesmerizing individuals who I loved as soon as I read about them. Jillian Nejat finds it difficult to speak to men. Her family neighbour Fran has set her up on more than 100 blind dates and she still has had no success. When she moves into a cheap NYC apartment, she finds herself living with Daniel, a sexy and shirtless heartthrob. Jillian has no difficulty talking to Daniel, but unfortunately, Daniel is a ghost. Daniel is convinced that he is in her life to help save her love life and despite her disagreeing to his proposal, Jillian finds herself falling for Daniel, the one person who she can never have.
Without revealing too much more of the storyline, I can’t find enough superlatives. This was such a beautiful love story, that had me wondering how it could possibly ever work out between Jillian and Daniel. It was definitely a rollercoaster ride of events and emotions, and the story has stayed with me long after the last page.
An amazing read and one that deserves to be read more than once!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was the first book I have read by Sarah Ready, and it definitely will not be the last! I started reading thinking I was just in for a light-hearted silly love story. Instead I found a story about a character I could directly relate to not only finding love, but also finding her way through loss and grief.

I did not want to put this book down, it easily kept my attention. There were more twists and turns and page turning moments than the synopsis implies. Just when you think you have things figured out, something else happens that flips everything on its head!

The story is told through Jillian's point of view, and we get to experience her social transformation first hand. We also get brief glimpses into the lives of some of the people closest to her and get to see their transformations as well, though I wish there could have been times where the story was told from another perspective.

☆》Thank you NetGalley and W.W. Crown for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.《☆

This was a cute romantic comedy with paranormal romance elements and I enjoyed it. The characters were fun and so was the story. I did feel like it was a bit predictable but not a total bad thing. I would definitely read more from the author.

Once again, Sarah Ready delivers an emotional romance, accompanied by hilarity, a solid cast of side characters, and great character growth, all wrapped up with a paranormal twist that's perfect for this time of year.

Jillian, the main female protagonist, has a lot on her plate at the beginning of this book. She's struggling to give sound relationship advice down to the fact that she's unable to even speak to the opposite sex. Given her job is to write for the readers of the website she works for on this very topic, it's quite an interesting debacle she's faced with. Along with her career nose-diving, she's moved into what once had to be a sex den of an apartment, and on her first night there, she meets Daniel - her new spector of a roommate.

I loved that Jillian, described as awkward at best, goes on this journey, first to get rid of Daniel, and then learn how to live again in the company of her seemingly dead new friend. As a fan of ghost-based paranormal romances, I enjoyed every bit of Jillian opening up herself to the opportunities she was missing out on all thanks to Daniel's guidance. His ability to bridge the realm of the living to assist her in stepping out back into the world was written well. Whilst hilarious at many points, I liked the emotional outcome of Jillian's connection with Daniel, especially when romantic feelings and entanglement of her fledgling hope were mixed in.

I was a little concerned when I got to what felt like the pinnacle moment between the pair and it was only the midway point of the book, but what follows is Jillian's journey to rediscover Daniel when he all but disappears on her. I admit, I struggled a little with how suddenly determined Jillian was to find him and insert herself into his life. It was somewhat cringe at points, especially with the loosely based concept of how she met Daniel in the first place. However, the build-up and the explanations and twists as the story progresses make up for this momentarily iffy feeling. I cried, I consumed this read, and I hoped for both Daniel and Jillian to reach their happily ever after. And if you're a return reader of this author, you know there's always at least a happy for now to satisfy with.

This is my favourite novel to date that I've read by Sarah Ready, and I'm eager to read what's to come next.

I just finished Ghosted by Sarah Ready @sarahreadyauthor and here are my thoughts.

Jillian isn’t living her best life. She is working in a job giving relationship advice when she can’t even bring herself to talk in front of any men but that all changes when she moves into her new apartment and a man, Daniel appears in her home, shirtless, sexy and not corporeal.
Daniel doesn’t seem to want to believe he is dead but for some reason seems to think he and Jillian matter to each other even though Jillian doesn’t recognize him. That's not even the strangest part, by some miracle, she finds it easy to talk to him.
Once Daniel is over the shock of being dead, he believes his afterlife mission is to fix Jillian's love life before he can move on. He can’t make it any worse so she agrees but what do you do when you find yourself falling for the only man on the planet you know you can’t have?
I really enjoyed this book. It was different from the books I usually read and made from some really funny and adorable moments. I just have one question.. Why was he shirtless? He doesn’t die shirtless.. I know his billboard picture is shirtless (slight spoiler haha) but it wasn’t a defining moment in his life to be the reason his ghost is shirtless….
The only part in the book and literally the only reason it lost a half a star was the weird not sex scene in the book. It was weird for me, I get why the author added it but it took from the tone of the book because their connection before that was already so intense I think it was unnecessary but otherwise, excellent writing and I was super entertained from start to finish.
This might be one of the best indie books I have ever read.
I loved all the characters and the banter. It was one of my most touching books of the year. One I will definitely recommend! And the second epilogue just about unhinged me…

I found Jullian and Daniel's story intriguing. The combination of emotion, drama, and humor was engaging and there are a couple really good twists. The prose is often exceptionally beautiful, and the feels are truly epic. However, sometimes this book just felt like it was too long.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Sarah Ready for the eARC of Ghosted. I absolutely loved this book and the premise. I've only read a couple paranormal romances in the past, but this one is one of my favorites. I rated this one 4.5/5 stars.

I was not prepared for how emotional this read was. The romance was so raw, and I could feel the main character's pain in the later part of the book. I was also just not expecting the book to go in the direction that it did, but I was pleased with it. I did think that it could have been a little shorter with how much build up there was for the conflict and ending, but overall, it was a great read.

Just finished reading to the ARC from the author, and Sarah's done it again! I beautifully written, deep, thought-provoking book, as always.

The basic idea behind the story reminded me of "Twenties Girl", a vastly different and brilliant book by Sophie Kinsella. Ghosted felt well thought out in comparison, though I'll admit I struggled to wrap my head around the entire plot line and the twists. The only other negative is how the various phases or acts as I might refer to them didn't quite flow into one another. I could feel the abrupt switch in narration.

Moving on to everything I loved. Gillian was one of the best FMCs I've read! I love how well thought out her character is, with incidents to back up every little quirk of hers. She is her own unique person outside of her relationships, and the individual show time she got to herself gave great insights into her character.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to know Daniel as well, but enjoyed him most in the first act of the story, as a muddled, caring, lovable man. I loved how he wasn't afraid to be vulnerable and that was a magnetic quality.

A cross reference to "The Space Between", another book by Ready which came out this year was just what I needed to put a huge smile on my face. I'm not a fan of Star Trek or a science person as of such, but some concepts in the book intrigued me on further research. So, this book is great for reference lovers.

I found the work environment at Gillian's place the definition of a familial, healthy bond! I loved the blooming dynamic between the colleagues so lovely and heartwarming. I can compare it to that of siblings. Mutual love, exasperation, familiarity, comfort, and loyalty.

Coming to the audiobook narrators, I didn't find them as endearing as I had hoped. They weren't bad, I just didn't notice them to stand out with their performance for most of the listen.

10/10 recommend for a philosophical read with many short chapters. I will definitely come back to this book time and again.

While I enjoy Sarah Ready's writing style, this book just was not for me. I was very intrigued by the premise, but after a cringey encounter with a ghost I was struggling to push through. I also found some of the dialogue to be choppy and awkward.

I really enjoyed the last 30% of the book and wish we would have gotten more of that storyline because it felt rushed, but I also am aware that the majority of focus was meant to be on the ghost storyline.

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
SPICE: 🔥🔥.5

I was not ready for this book. I thought I was in for a good time; after all, it is just a fun romcom about a woman who ends up living with a ghost.

I. Should. Have. Known. Better.

Jillian was hoping that the cheap New York apartment she took a chance on would not be so bad. Sure, the wall-to-wall mirrors scream 70s love den, but it is nothing a lot of Lysol spray and wipes cannot fix. Unfortunately for her, Lysol cannot fix her ghost problem.

Yes, Jillian Nejat is apparently sharing her apartment with a shirtless, gorgeous ghost named Daniel who likes to butt into her business. And he has a lot of opinions when it comes to her job and dating life, which seem to be more lifeless than he is.

Once she gets over the initial shock and annoyance at having a constant ghostly companion, they both find that there is more to their connection.

I really enjoyed this book (and audiobook). Sure, I had to suspend some belief that someone who is incapable of talking to men and has never been in a relationship (much less a physical one) could be qualified to be a relationship expert, but then again, it is the Daily Expose.

I love the arc of Jillian and Daniel's relationship. Sarah Ready draws us in on a journey with our main characters that organically transitions them from ghost/haunted strangers to friends to lovers. Along the way, we get to unpack mostly Jillian's history in the first act and then Daniel's in the second, and uncover layers of complexity that make them who they are.

Their chemistry was definitely sizzling, though the spicy moments were mostly in the medium (no pun intended) category. We got some ghost-human action (after all, isn't that why we picked this read?) and more.

My second favorite thing about this book is Jillian's network. Ready delivers hilarious subplots about her neighbor Fran, her physicist best friend Serena, and her ragtag group of co-workers that had me laughing, giggling, and crying (in a good way).

This read beautifully as a standalone, though news on the grapevine indicates this will be a series with Serena being featured next, and I cannot wait.

AUDIOBOOK NOTES: The book and audiobook were mostly done from Jillian's POV, and I love Sarah Naughton's reading of Jillian. Even though the book itself was long, Naughton drew us into a complete immersion in this book universe. I felt like she made key scenes in the book come to life, and I really liked that.

** I am voluntarily reviewing an advance copy of this book. Thank you to Sarah Ready, WW Crown, and NetGalley for providing an ARC. **

This was an ARC. This is like Julie and the phantoms but without the musical part and more hot and spicy. It’s basically a romance between a human girl and a ghost.
That ghost has a dirty mouth and I am here for it.
She is a writer of columns about love and relationships but she’s is having trouble with it, because she’s awful dating and her advices aren’t what people are looking for
The mention of THE UNFINISHED BUSINESS gives me years of life, and he thinking he has to help her is chef kiss.
This book could be translated like a 2000's romcom. Just read this, she works in journalism in New York and there is this handsome guy who’s helping her, and this scene where the two of them go to a baseball game.
Oh my god I was thinking this book was going to be this soft romance and that’s it but the second half of it is kind of a twisted story.

4.5 Stars rounded up

"Jillian Nejat is the only dating and relationship expert on the planet who is incapable of speaking to men. If they’re living, if they’re breathing, it’s game over. With her bank account at zero, her career a dumpster fire, and her dating life in a ten-year slump, she moves into a tiny, dirt-cheap NYC apartment. Unfortunately, the apartment is already occupied. Daniel (no-last-name) is a sexy, shirtless, six-pack wielding heartthrob who is also…dead. He isn’t living. He isn’t breathing. He’s a ghost."

Honestly, I have struggled in the past to enjoy paranormal or time-hopping romances, and I was worried at first that this one would be the same. When Jillian and Daniel first begin their romance when he's a ghost, I started to cringe a little because my sense of reality was struggling even though their relationship was adorable. I was even considering DNF'ing it because I just knew that I was going to feel the same as I have in the past regarding the time hop trope. However, I'm so glad that I didn't! The ending of this novel was perfect. It allowed the cynic in me to BELIEVE! Now, I can't stop thinking about the entire novel.

I have several other novels by Sarah Ready on my TBR, yet I have not had a chance to read any. Ghosted just made me more excited to read more by her. The writing style and description are top notch.

Thank you NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Jillian Nejat turned around in her new apartment and found herself alone with a shirtless man, who simply blinked out of existence when she threw her rare Franklin Mint USS Enterprise NX-01 at him.
Realizing her new apartment's dead former tenant has not yet 'moved on', Jillian and shirtless ghost Daniel, work together to determine and conquer his unfinished business so he can be at peace.

I thought I had it all figured out. I think I actually muttered "we have all seen this movie" but then it went in a whole different direction, kind of in the direction of a different movie, but done in a much sweeter and less convoluted way.
The side stories were cute, I see this is book one of a series, If book two keeps within this storyline, I have a feeling who it will be about, and I am ALL for it.
I will definitely be keeping an eye out for it.

I thought I would love this and flew through the first 35% and then she had sex with a ghost and I’m just quitting. There’s no way this goes anywhere but down.

This book was so much fun! I read this book on the night I was alone…and I was laughing instead of looking over my shoulder. I thought i was a big fan of Sarah Ready and now I am a bigger fan! I trust her plot and love her writing. There is no lagging in pace any where..even when sunshine/grumpy reverses.

What an absolutely interesting twist on a romance.

This wasn't exactly my vibe, but at the same time I don't regret reading it, and would look into what else the author has written. I liked the writing style enough, that I would give them another chance on a plot that maybe I was more into. Not the author's fault that the plot itself wasn't something I was into.

Thank you for the opportunity to ARC read this.

Wow this book was long! At the beginning I honestly thought I would not finish it but it totally took me in!

Jillian and Daniel make the most beautiful couple, it's really sweet how Daniel just shows up but immediately knows that he knows her. Jill's BFF is the perfect BFF, I mean to instantly believe and support her story is really cool.

This story is full of emotions, there were parts that I could not hold my tears. I totally loved it.
