This was just so good. I did not expect the ghost story. I just love love Jillian. I could just feel her anxiety. She had so much character growth in this book. Daniel is the hot cinnamon roll. The romance was so sweet and spicy! I loved the story and did not want to put the book down. Thank you to NetGalley and W.W. Crown for the arc in exchange for my honest review.
Sarah Ready is always a must read on my TBR list. Ghosted follows the story of Jillian in a paranormal romance full of twists and turns. Thank you to W. W. Crown and NetGalley.
This is a cute, quirky romance with amusing characters. I loved that it had a character with selective mutism as well. I found the story to be unique and it kept me interested till the end. The only negative thing I can say is that it felt a little too ‘instalovey’ for my tastes.
Ghosted by the gifted Sarah Ready is more than just a romance, it is about grief, friendship, healing, honesty, and family. Ghosted is pure literary magic! It is one of the best books that I have ever read. Ghosted is a unique and beautifully written romance that had me laughing and crying and I loved every minute of it. I highly recommend this amazing story to anyone who loves romance.
I really wanted to like this book as I thought the premise would kind of be like Just like heaven but this book was just strange and I ultimately had to dnf after the s*x scene. Like apparently ghost s*x is just a breeze on your body so apparently we all have had s*x with a ghost. Also the inconsistency of the main character being this girl who can't speak to men but can somehow fall in love and speak loudly and proudly with a male ghost I mean come on.
Well, I loved this, it's definitely in my 2023 top 10.
First of all, as I don't read synopsis, I didn't understand this was a paranormal romance upon starting this, and let's say I was a little confused when ghost Daniel appeared. I thought that "Ghosted" in the title meant the act of not responding to someone and completely disappear from the face of the earth, and not the act of existing as a ghost, oops.
Anyways, this book is phenomenal, I really like how reading Sarah Ready's books feels like going on the rollercoaster, first you are super hyped and things go really well, then everything seems to start going badly, there's twist and turns and the plot takes unexpected turns, and then, in the end, everything works out perfectly fine.
Ghosted is about Gillian and Daniel, our heroin is extremely shy and doesn't talk to men, at all, with little to no exception. Upon moving into her new apartment, she finds Daniel, a ghost, in her living room. They soon find out they can help each other out, she can help him try to find his unresolved business, and he can help her sort out her shitty dating life. As per every other romcom, they fall in love in the process, but they still have to figure out how to be together if Daniel is a ghost.
The characters are all extremely lovable and relatable, even the side ones. The plot is well thought-out, and it's well-written.
This may be the most interesting and original romance book I've read this year. I wasn't sure at first if I liked it or not. It starts off very much like the movie Just Like Heaven, which is great. It then throws in some science fiction with a smidge of time travel. I will say it's definitely insta-love, but that's common with Sarah Ready. Near the beginning I got a little confused because Daniel shows up in her apartment, and understandably, she freaks out. Then the next chapter starts, and she's at work with Daniel there with her, and she's just totally cool with it now?? I felt like maybe there were some scenes missing. I also felt the intimate scenes with Daniel being a ghost just awkward and weird. The last 75% of the book was really great though. Jillian's coworkers were amazing, and so was Daniel. He started off a little bit arrogant and overconfident, but that changed. I'll always love a male lead who knows he wants a family and isn't afraid to admit it. It was unpredictable. For the most part, I kept wondering where it was going and how it would end. I hope romance readers will give this one a try, it's definitely not the typical love story.
Ready is just killing it with her releases! And I couldn’t be happier for her.
Ghosted by Sarah Ready was an absolute amazing romantic comedy with a great supernatural paranormal twist.
The romance in this book is also absolutely incredible. I loved our two main characters, and I love how they interact together. This was full of fun characters who I just adored.
Sarah Ready’s writing was beautiful and full of all the wit and humor.
I found this to be an engaging, enjoyable romance with a likable lead and a strong supporting cast of characters.
It pulled at my heartstrings and was utterly delightful.

DNF at 40%
This story is just too long. There are some unnecessary descriptions that drag on, drawing away from the overall plot and often interrupting dialogue for a lengthy amount of time that I've completely forgotten what the characters were talking about. I understood what I was going to be reading about, but upon actually reading the ghostly sex, I have learned that it isn't for me. I also found out how the story plays out and it's not worth it for me.
Mind you, the writing is great. Sarah Ready is definitely talented, her descriptive language creates vivid imagery in my head and playing out like a movie, but this story just isn't for me.

"You're like a flame. I'm drawn to you. Everyone else is muted, but you burn bright."
This was my first Sarah Ready book. And I will admit, at 10% I was ready to DNF. I was bored. I was tired of hearing about Star Trek. The whole premise of the FMC not being able to talk to men was ridiculous to me. But I told myself I would stay with it until 25%. The next thing I knew it was 2 am and I was at 58%. This book is really good!
This was also my first paranormal ghost romance, and let me tell you, it won't be my last. I absolutely loved Daniel. The things he said made me laugh out loud. But he also made me swoon at some of the things as well.
"You're my light.
If I could dream. I'd only dream about you.
If I could live, I'd live for you
If I could give you anything, I'd give you heaven"
I even liked all the side characters. They each had their own personalities and you felt it coming off the page.
There were twists and turns throughout that I didn't see coming. This was definitely worth the read!
Also, can we also talk about the cover? It just pulls you in and I love it.
I will say going into this I had no clue what this book was about, this was purely a cover read for me. But ok wow I really enjoyed this. This was a really solid romance and a great mix of romance and hard topics. I will forever dislike the second act break up but this one made up for it and was an actual good plot for the story. I loved Jillian and Daniel. They both had their quirks but were super fun to read about. I also loved the cast of side characters, they were all so fun and added a lot to the story. Overall, impressed and enjoyed a lot!
Ghosted by Sarah Ready is a paranormal romance that centers around a “Relationship Expert” who is so far from that; Jillian is nerdy, awkward and afraid to talk to men. But then she meets Daniel. Daniel appears first to Jillian after she moved into her new apartment and she is certain that she has never seen him before. He is dead, a ghost, is convinced that they are friends, and he feels safe around Jillian. Since Jillian is the only one who can see Daniel, they team up to help her overcome her fear of talking to members of the opposite sex so she can come up with some good relationship advice to save her job. Daniel “coaches” her through some dates with a few men and even helps her to write her advice articles. However, no man is as interesting to Jillian as Daniel and things take a turn about halfway through which really change the whole narrative of the book. I’ve read other ghostly romance books before and this one was really unique with how the mechanism for how he came to be a ghost and how the second half of the book works out. This book was different, cute, hilarious and full of Star Trek references! I feel like I truly became one with the main characters but even the minor characters (Jillian’s co-workers!) were well developed and I found myself wanting to know more about them as well!
This was my first book by this author but I definitely plan to read more Sarah Ready books. Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for this review!
I had to DNF this one. I am a huge Sarah Ready fan but this wasn't for me. I loved the cover too. The book was just unbelievable/ridiculous and the timing of things were just off. The timeline of stuff seemed super quick. I hate that I didn't enjoy it. I stopped at 60% and just couldn't go on. I was doing a buddy read so she filled me in on the rest. I will continue to snag up all of Sarah's books. This was a miss for me.
I’m going to start this review off by saying I have loved everything I’ve read by Sarah Ready and was super excited for Ghosted. Especially with the cover…it’s absolutely gorgeous.
However, Ghosted didn’t work at for me at all. The storyline was hokey at best. I didn’t buy the instalove. Also, the ending wasn’t my favorite.
I did like the main characters and side characters. Probably the highlight of the book.
Thanks to Netgalley and W.W. Crown for a copy of Ghosted in exchange of an honest review.
First of all, I have to say that I truly enjoyed this book. It was so incredibly fun, and I was invested right from the start.
Having said that in a book with a possible time traveling dimension hopping ghost, the one thing I found unbelievable was that the former Miss Ohio is a Yankee fan. You don't just leave Ohio, move to New York, and suddenly decide the Yankees are your favorite baseball team. I refuse to believe that.
Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I was totally engrossed in Jillian and Daniel's love story. I couldn't wait to see how it all worked out.
This book was sweet, emotional, and completely swoon worthy!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.
Omg!!! That second epilogue!! My brain cannot 🤯🤯 I absolutely loved this book. Granted I got a little lost there for a second but just like our couple, I found my way back. Omg this book was reminding me of Layla by Colleen Hoover as it had a similar vibe but it was more fun and quirky. Our lead, Jillian, literally could not talk to men, which like mood 😂. And then there’s Daniel, our resident ghost or so we think. Anyways, it’s just a dating/relationships expert getting help from a ghost to resurrect her love life. But the longer they spend time together, leads them down a different impossible path or so they think. Their relationship was everything and their banter - 10/10. I adored this book from start to finish and I’m so sad it’s over.
When Jillian, a shy journalist who writes relationship advice, moves in to her new apartment, she finds it’s already occupied… by a ghost. He has no memory of his life, but he believes that he’s supposed to help Jillian with her articles and with her love life in order for him to move on. But, she finds herself falling for him instead.
With a synopsis like that, I knew I would have to suspend disbelief. I thought this would be reminiscent of 2005’s Just Like Heaven with Mark Ruffalo and Reese Witherspoon. However, this was not that. The beginning of the book was fine, but then the plot sort of fell apart as if the author had this idea and then didn’t know how to execute it. It was far too long and hung up on extraneous details and side characters that didn’t add to main story. As far as romance, one of the characters is a ghost, so the steamy scenes were just cringey at best.
Paranormal, nerding-out and romance. I enjoyed the story of Jillian and Daniel. There was a moment that I really got emotional, which doesn’t often happen for me. Daniel is a great book boyfriend! Her coworker, Ned, made me laugh more than all of the characters. Would love to see Sarah make a book about him! I see Jillian’s best friend, Serena, is getting her own book next, which should be very good.
This is the first book I have read by Sarah Ready and I look forward to reading some more of hers in the future - I really loved her writing style! Ghosted is a unique paranormal rom com, there is a solid plot, with lots of twists throughout, all pulling nicely together at the end.
There is a lot of references to Star Trek and alternate dimensions which I know nothing but I actually quite enjoyed this element to the book, which surprised me.
Thank you Netgalley and WW Crown for the ARC.

Thank you to NetGallery, the author and the publisher for giving me this ARC for my honest opinion. This plot was such a unique and I really didn’t know what was going to happen next. They way the author describes the love between these two? I loved all of it. I loved it from the start to the end. It was really everything.
