I loved this book. Finished it on a rainy weekend. I'm a type of reader that I visualize the characters in my head. Both of the main characters are people I want to know and have in my life. From beginning to end, I could not put it down because I NEEDED to know how it ended. Will be following Sarah Ready for her other books!

Ghosted is our third book by the wonderful Sarah Ready and we still can’t get over how different her books are. You truly don’t know what you’re going to get. What we do know though, is that it’s going to be really well written, have amazing characters and an addictive and compelling storyline. This Author has made us laugh, cry, swoon and fall in love. Her stories can be as heartbreaking as they can be full of hilarious one liner. The banter is written just as well as the heartbreak and swoon.

“I’ve been wondering who you thought I was…”

You. I thought you were you.

“I thought you were someone I love.”

Once again, we can say that Ghosted was very different to our last book by this Author. We expected the unexpected and that’s exactly what we got. A story that had a little bit of everything mixed into the melting pot with an element of a supernatural timeline at its centre.

“If I could dream,” he says, “I’d only dream about you.”

Ghosted is quite a unique romance that reads like two parts of a timeline if you will, both with Jillian’s voice. Jillian is a hopeless romantic who dreams of -the one- whilst working for a media company, giving advice on love, all whilst trying to find her own love story. She’s been on hundreds of disastrous dates, has extreme confidence issues, yet she’s fun, quirky and has the biggest heart.

“I love you, if you can come back, please come back to me, but if you can’t, I’m grateful that you were here for as long as you were. Thank you seeing me. Thank you for seeing my heart.”

Suspend any beliefs you may have, enter the world of the make believe that is fiction, and for a moment just live in the realm where falling in love with love is the most beautiful thing, a place that we as romance readers love to live in. Ghosted was a beautiful, emotional, and magical story of finding yourself, falling in love and protecting that love with your entire being, whilst also sacrificing yourself without losing who you truly are.

DAMN IT, SARAH! QUIT MAKING ME CRY WITH YOUR WORDS!

Due to some general life things, it has taken me a lifetime to finish this book, but I loved it so, SO much!

I got very emotional the last 2-3 hours while I was reading. But the underlying theme that love can withstand time and space makes my heart turn into a puddle, and makes me want to remind Matt every second how much I love him.

Excuse me while I go curl up in a ball now...

Thank you Sarah and @netgalley for the advanced copy of this book in exchange for this review!

Wow. I didn’t see THAT twist coming half way through, but I loved it. An deliciously charming romcom where you are so hoping for an happily ever after, but are also not sure how that’s ever going to happen. The perfect read for Trekkies, hopeless romantics and everyone else. Highly recommend!!!

I got this arc in exchange for an honest review.

Jillian is terrified to talk to men. While she's been getting by with some head nods, she knows things have to change. Enter Daniel, the one man she finds she CAN talk to. Only...he's a ghost.

This book was super fun. To start out, you have to leave reality at the door. Don't try to figure this out, just enjoy what it is.

Jillian is such a good character. She's the insecure self we all have. You want to push her and get her to come out of her shell because you get to know her so well within her narration that you really do love her. As a Star Trek fan, I also love the incredibly accurate references.

Daniel worked as the perfect guy for Jillian...or in general. He's hot and kind and just adores the woman he loves. He works so well pushing Jillian out of her comfort zone.

Overall, there is so much to like in this book, but go in blind. There are twists (that I did predict but still enjoyed).

Thank you to the author and publisher for the gifted copy. My reviews are always honest

This one was hard for me because it started out so great! I loved Daniel, the banter was amazing 👏 everything seemed to be going well.

Then there was an almost abrupt ending, no shift into a second part or anything, yet the story was very clearly going in a different direction now.

The same thing happened again, another time.

I loved the beginning and the ending, but there is a whole middle part I honestly could have done without 🤷‍♀️

I did still enjoy the book. The audio is great! I just think this one missed the mark for me.

Sarah Ready has a wonderful way of writing stories that always make me laugh out loud – just ask my husband how many times I started laughing uncontrollably just when he was about to fall asleep after I had told him that I would only read a couple of more pages before I turned the lights out… - and she also manages to tuck at all of my heartstrings with her stories. This story – with the wonderful premise of two strangers meeting in the same apartment, one of them the new tenant and the other one a ghost who might have been living there when he passed – did not disappoint, I laughed and I cried and I hoped that Jillian and Daniel could solve the mystery of why they had met in the first place.

The first half of the book was everything I had come to expect from a Sarah Ready novel. However, there was something missing for me in the second half and I didn’t feel as invested in the story as I would have liked to be. The story wrapped up beautifully, though, and as always I loved the way New York City - with lunches in my forever favorite Bryant Park or the hustle and bustle of the busy midtown streets - was an essential and vibrant part of the story.

3,5 stars to the novel as a whole (3 for the second half and 4 for the first) which, I guess, rounds up to 4. 😊

My first book by this author and, once again, I was influenced by other reviewers. This time, it worked for me. I really enjoyed this book!

Jillian moves into a new apartment that looks like the former tenant was into some wild stuff. It's covered with mirrors! The apartment also comes with a ghost! A shirtless man named Daniel appears to her out of nowhere. It seems his mission is to help her with her life before he can move on. Her love life is nonexistent, because she is unable to talk to men. But she is able to with Daniel. Soon, she falls in love with him, and he tells her the same. Then, he's gone.

Jillian is a Trekkie, so this book is full of Star Trek. I'm not into it at all, but it was still fun to see how much Jillian is into it. I rated it only four stars, because while I enjoyed it, I do have confusion and questions to what really happened to make this a happy ever after. (because it is.)

It's completely in Jillian's POV, which is not a favorite of mine. I would have loved to see Daniel's POV (more). I will definitely read more from this author, though!

"You're like a flame, I'm drawn to you. Everyone else is muted, but you burn bright."

You'd think by now I'd be for the emotional rollercoaster ride that Sarah Ready entices her readers to climb aboard... Ghosted is a delightful mix of romantic comedy and emotional contemporary with a non-spooky supernatural twist.

Without any spoilers, just know that my hopes for going into Ghosted were: Please, don't be dead dead! Please be something with a Just Like Heaven (Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo) scenario. Because I will not be able to handle an impossible love match!

Jillian and Daniel's early interactions are wonderfully hilarious, giving me vibes of Not Dead Yet (Gina Rodriguez) when Jillian is trying not to look bonkers talking to someone no one else can see. As their relationship grew I kept getting more worried and more emotional. Their story is heartwarming and heartrending and I never know where Sarah Ready's stories are going to go. Again no spoilers, but I am very glad that Jillian and Daniel both get HEAs.

"Thank you for seeing me. Thank you for seeing my heart."

The main character, "Jillian", I found to be super relatable for me. As someone who use to struggle to interact with guys and still nerdy & shy. This books has romance, comedy and some spice. This book also made me cry multiple times. It is a very well balanced book and has something thrown in for everyone! It also held my attention throughout the entire thing. This is definitely a book that I would read again. For this reason I will be given this book:
5/5 ⭐s

All in all, this book is to die for. Ha... get it? Anyways... I absolutely fell in love with this book and Daniel is DEFINITELY being added to the list of book boyfriends. 😂
Thank you so much for my copy of "Ghosted"! ❤️

I don’t even know where to begin. This book was absolutely amazing – I started it and needed… no HAD to finish it that same day. I laughed, I cried, I swooned, I hoot and hollered. This book had everything!!

Jillian (Jilly) is a dating/love expert that has trouble talking to men. Her career is a downward spiral and with little in the way of funds; she moves into a cheap apartment, one that looks like a male lothario (wink, wink) used to live in… mirrors everywhere. Alone and unpacking a shirtless male shows up and scares the bejesus out of her. But this ghost, Daniel, seems to know her. But as quickly as he came… he disappeared. Daniel, the ghost, believes he’s there to help Jillian – get her career on track, and to be able to talk to men and date. But the more time they spend together and get to truly know one another, Jillian starts to fall for the one man she can’t truly have.

Oh my heart. I absolutely adored both Jillian and Daniel. Watching Jilly learn to let go of the past, embrace herself, and then to watch her blossom and bloom under Daniel’s tutelage…. It was everything. And then for Daniel, not really remembering his past or who he really is…. Watching him actually see Jillian for who she is. Add in Jillian’s kooky co-workers and you have the most amazing story ever. If you want to know what happens, you will have to one click. PS there is a double epilogue…. Just gah!! Read it!

Thank you to Netgalley and WW Crown for the opportunity to read and review this. And, Sarah Ready, I would not be mad about a book with Bernando and Hayley’s story.

**** 4.5 stars ****

Jillian is the only dating and relationship expert on the planet who is incapable of speaking to men. If they’re living, if they’re breathing, it’s game over. Jillian moves to a new apartment and soon discovers the apartment is already occupied by Daniel, who is also dead. He’s a ghost but is the only man Jillian can talk about and is soon falling for him but may be the only man she can never have.

I had a great time reading this book ! I loved it 7 was a very unique story, not like anything I have ever read before. This book was such a rollercoaster of emotions. This is my first Sarah Ready, and I will definitely be looking up her backlist ! If you can suspend disbelief, then I would highly recommend this book !

I listened to this on audio book. I found the audio easy to listen to and welll read and bought the characters to life.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of “Ghosted” by Sarah Ready. All opinions are my own.

Ghosted follows the story of Jillian, who moves into her new NYC apartment and finds its already inhabited. Only problem, he’s a ghost. Over time they become friends as Daniel helps her get out of her shell in her personal and professional life. When suddenly the ghost disappears, Jillian runs into Daniel, alive and well. But will he remember everything they shared?

This book was all over the place. I’ve read a few of the authors books before (French Holiday - loved!! Josh & Gemma Make a Baby, enjoyed. The sequel, hated.) I guess it’s hit or miss with me. Sometimes the descriptions felt unnecessary and over the top, definitely some of that could’ve been cut. Given how drawn out the rest of the book was, I felt the ending sort of rushed and convenient that he suddenly remembers everything and it’s all fixed.

Everyone repeat with me now, Sarah Ready is a literary magician!

This book gave me ALLLLLLLL the feels. I was up to the weeee hours of the morning finishing it while sobbing and accidentally waking my husband up. Once he realized I was reading, he of course rolled his eyes and went back to sleep as he always does. But AHH! I just want to yell over and over at my keyboard non coherent words. It was that good.

So, truth. I first read this book then went back and listed to the audio. I loved it just as much the second time around when I was being read to by Sarah Naughton and Rob Brinkmann as I did when I was reading it myself. They crushed it!!

Anyway. . . This book is simply beautiful. There is no other way to put it. It’s a story of love and what you are willing to sacrifice for those you love. For Jillian, it’s everything.

Thank you NetGalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing LLC for the ARC!

4.5 Stars

I really love the way Sarah Ready tells stories, and the characters she writes are some of my favorites. I get so emotionally invested in her stories and characters, she is easily an auto-buy author for me and I'm so happy I got to read this one early.

Jillian is in the biggest rut of her life. Her love life is non-existent (even if her godmother continues to set her up on dates), she's at risk of losing her job, and she's just moved into the world's cringes apartment. Oh, and did she mention is appears that her new apartment is already occupied? Daniel is a shirtless, six-pack wielding heartthrob, who appears to be dead. He's also the only man on earth Jillian is actually capable of talking to. Somehow their linked, and Daniel has decided the only way for him to move on is to help Jillian get her life back on track. He'll help her with her job and get her talking to men again, no problem. Of course, it's never that simple. The more time they spend together, the more it seems like Jillian is falling for the one man she can never have.

I seriously loved Daniel and Jillian so much. The way they connected with each other, and just got each other was so great. I loved the little mystery of how they were connected to each other, and I think the way that was revealed was quite unique to the story. I loved the Star Trek references. I think they were a great addition to the story and just a fun thing to spot for those who have watch any of the shows or movies. I loved that at the heart of this book, it was about being yourself and finding your own peace. Yes, of course there is a happy ending here, but I didn't feel like them finding a way to be together was the entire point of the story. At the end of the day, the way the two of them were able to find peace with their pasts was something I thought was really important to the story. I also surprisingly loved that this was told from just Jillian's point of view. Yes, I of course would have loved to have pieces from Daniel's point of view, but I think this one really worked the way it was told.

This is one I would easily recommend to anyone who enjoys the following.

✔️ Strangers to Friends to Lovers
✔️ Slight Amnesia
✔️ Soulmates
✔️ Ghosts/Paranormal
✔️ Forced Proximity
✔️ Star Trek
✔️ First Person Single POV

"Ghosted" by Sarah Ready is a fantastic paranormal romance that echoes the vibe of "Just Like Heaven" and "The Dead Romantics." The story offers a unique perspective that piqued my interest.

Initially, Jillian's challenge in speaking with men felt a bit unrealistic, but as the story progressed, it started to make more sense and added depth to her character. The characters and the plot kept me engaged and eager to see how it all unfolded. I enjoyed seeing how Jillian and Daniel interacted throughout the story and how their relationship grew. I also enjoyed the side characters and what they added to the story.

In a nutshell, "Ghosted" is a captivating paranormal romance that blends the supernatural with the intricacies of human emotions. If you're a fan of the mentioned movie and book, this one is a delightful addition to your reading list.

Jillian has just moved into a new apartment. It's covered and mirrors and may have previously been a sex den, but it's affordable. However, Jillian soon discovers it also comes with a ghost.
Daniel doesn't know how are why he died, or why Jillian is the only one who can see him. But as the two grow closer, they find themselves falling for each other.

Not much more can be said without giving away much of the plot. I admit the first part of the story was seeming a bit cheesy to me, but once the story took a little turn, I was quite into it. Though I got a little annoyed with Daniel close to the end, overall the characters were quite likeable. I enjoyed Jillian going from super shy and awkward to more confident and overcoming some past demons. This was my first read by this author but I will certainly check out more.

Sarah Ready is such an underrated author! This is my 5th book of hers and I’ve loved them all.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️

Jillian is a bit of an imposter - she’s a dating advice columnist, with little to no actual experience.
With every man she meets that has any potential for dating, she’s unable to speak to them.

Until she meets Daniel.

Though he doesn’t really have that potential either - since he’s a ghost.

He’s the only man she CAN talk to, and they start to think maybe he’s there to help her with her love life, and also her failing career.

This book had me laughing & sobbing. I was so drawn in to these 2 characters and their stories, together and apart. I was rooting for their happily ever after, and wondering how they were going to get there.

I also really enjoyed the audiobook - Sarah always has the best narrators!

What you’ll find in Ghosted:
⭐️ Paranormal romance/sci fi
⭐️ Forced proximity
⭐️ Opposites attract
⭐️ Soulmates
⭐️ Insta-love
⭐️ Dating coach
⭐️ Geeky heroine (Trekkie)
⭐️ Amazing side characters
⭐️ Romcom with heart 💜
⭐️ Single POV/first person

4.5 stars! Sarah Ready is fast becoming a favorite author of mine. I’ve listened to 2 of her audio books in the last 2 months and I am loving them! Ghosted was a bit different than your normal romance book, which in my opinion is great! The characters in the book were very likable. They had such a good connection, that as a reader you could connect with. And the unique storyline was what really impressed me. I really liked how this story played out, I felt Jillian’s emotions throughout this whole story. And Daniel was a fun character, even when you get half way through the book and get a little surprise! The narrator did great and I would highly recommend this book in audio format or in book form as well. ***Thank you Netgalley & W.W. Crown for the ARC copy in return for an honest review***
