This book was heartbreakingly beautiful and soul touching!

Jillian is an author at a media publication and long story short her work life, dating life and social life are pretty much a dumpster fire. Past trauma and loss has restricted her ability to be “out there”. She can’t talk to men and she’s insanely shy. That is until she meets the sexy, shirtless Daniel.
Daniel is a ghost that seems to know Jillian but Jillian has never once met Daniel. He haunts her, literally, until she accepts they are supposed to help each other.
What Daniel and Jillian have are beyond words and my heart cried for them and everything they went through.

This story is tragic, but also heartwarming, sad but also hopeful. I cried, laughed and swooned. And their ending was beautiful.

I really enjoyed this book and would 100% recommend!

Thank you NetGalley and W.W Crown for a copy of this ARC.

I requested this book & audiobook because I had just read 'The Space Between' by Sarah Ready last month and loved it. Thought another Sarah Ready book would be great.
I alternated between the audiobook and ebook. Both experiences were great.
The way Sarah writes her stories, makes me want to keep reading (or listening) and I can't put the book down. I want to find out what happens next. There was a lot of descriptive words describing sight, sounds, touch, smells etc...of the world around the main character. The narrators in the audiobook - Sarah Naughton and Rob Brinkman deliver engaging and believable characters. I recommend this book and audiobook to anyone who enjoys cozy paranormal romances. It was a pleasure to listen to the audiobook and read this book. I enjoyed the 'ghost' aspect of the book and the different perspective.

Thank you for the advance copy NetGalley, Sarah Ready, W.W. Crown and IPBA for the ARC.

We made love. I made love with Daniel. I'm in love with Daniel. It's wonderful. It's terrible. Because when you're in love with a man who is already dead, there's no way to make a life together. There's no life at all."

Jillian a 27 years old woman with a terminal inability to speak to men she's a hopeless romantic and has a belief that one day she will find someone she's able to talk to and who can see her for her true self but she had no idea that this man will be a ghost.

It's an OPPOSITE ATTRACTS
SOULMATES
FORCED PROXIMITY
PARANORMAL ROMANCE
FRIENDS TO LOVERS STORY that will shatter your heart and mend it in the most surprising way.
Full of humour and heartfelt moments.
Lovable characters with an amazing setting.
The only thing that made 4⭐ not 5 it is that it's too long for my taste other than that everything was perfect.
Therefore, I suggest you going into this book blind it will make the journey a lot better and much more surprising and if you like you could listen to the audio book which and it was really good.
Thank you to @netgalley and the publisher for granting me an ARC of #Ghosted in exchange for my honest review.

Ok. There seems to be something in the water but this is the second book in a row I`ve read with a MMC named Daniel and (again) he is EVERYTHING. Thoughtful, charming, sweet, caring, encouraging, funny, handsome. Only in this book - Daniel is also a ghost - one who is seen only by our female lead, and who seems to be there to help her get her life back on track.

Jillian is an almost 30 year old who writes a relationship advice column but... can't speak to people of the opposite sex. Orders coffee from the coffee stand guy - it's all nods and smiles. Goes into the office and sits next to her male colleagues - all smiles and shakes of her head. It's a little awkward. But when she meets Daniel - not only is she able to speak to him, she starts to open up. Their relationship builds her confidence and allows her to face some past griefs and finally come back to the land of the living.

Listen. This is a book about a budding relationship between a human and a ghost. It sounds unbelievable - but Sarah Ready pulls it off. You'll be rooting for our mains to figure it out. I can't say that I usually sway towards paranormal / magical realism reads - but this one had me hooked from the beginning.

This is going to sound bizarre - but I spent the first 40% of the book thinking it was a mash-up of:

- The movie "Ghost" - same type of chemistry
- The tv show "Pushing Daisies" - same charming, loving, adorable mains -also the frustration of being in love and not being able to physically touch - also swap pies with donuts.
- and finally the tv show "American Horror Story" season one - just because I recently watched it and the whole "only certain people can see ghosts thing"... there is absolutely no horror aspect to this story.

Jillian and Daniel are joined by a host of wonderful side characters:

Fern - who's mission in life is to find Jillian her HEA
Bernardo - Jillian's boss who is brings together a rag tag of people to form her work family
and then the work family:
Ned - believes in aliens, hopping through dimensions and is perfectly suited to help Jillian out when she needs a hand.
Buck - angry, and gruff - a right pain in the butt but ultimately loyal to a fault.
Hayley - the beauty queen who is so much more and the perfect friend to help Jillian.

If you are a Trekkie - there are loads of references for you, and even if you aren't - they are adorable references not annoying ones.

This is a love story meant to make you FEEL all those big feelings. I loved it. Some trigger warnings - mention of off page suicide and self harm - but I thought it was handled in a thoughtful way.

Recommended read.

The idea behind this book had me hooked! After the first few chapters I couldn’t stop! I loved the descriptions of the apartment and Daniel. I loved the time lines throughout the book, but also enjoyed the little nerdy, quirky moments Jillian had. The supporting characters were great, and there were so many times laughed!

I really enjoyed this book! It is a really unique premise and while the supporting characters feel like caricatures, it's never over the top or annoying. The book was a great length, it didn't feel too long or too short.

For a rom-com about a woman falling in love with a ghost, it felt surprisingly realistic with the emotions between the two main characters.

Sarah Ready books are such a ride and I enjoy every moment. I honestly don't know how she makes my fan-of-realism heart get into this stuff, but does she ever.

Ghosted very much feels like just like heaven from the start, but with a hilariously awful apartment. The sex den in some ways felt like an additional character, and it added a lot. I have to admit that I was very skeptical of the can't talk to men thing, but it was more than a plot device. Jillian had trauma-induced selective mutism, and while this may not have been the best portrayal since she could always talk to Daniel and she seemingly gets over it in the book, I was glad there was more than falling in love fixed me. There is a bit of that, but it was more about processing her trauma and releasing her guilt.

I was glad to see the reckoning over Jillian's tactics to see Daniel though I really had to suspend my disbelief that a guy who had a stalker before was that open with her. Daniel was pretty insta-love which I normally hate but since we had already seen them fall for each other it sort of worked.

I have mixed feelings on the second epilogue, I liked seeing Daniel's POV and closing the loop on what happened in the original timeline but I hated that she was able to talk to him right off the bat there, it goes back to my hesitation and concerns with the selective mutism.

But overall a really enjoyable book. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the e and audio arcs.

First, Thank you to NetGalley, Sarah Ready, and W.W. Crown Publishing for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book is for people who can let go of reality a bit. Just Like Heaven vibes!
It did take a little while to get into it because I didn’t really vibe with Jillian and her personality at first. After hearing about her past I understood her more and I really started liking the book after that. I thought I knew where it was going but I did not!
All of Jillian’s coworkers and family are wonderful. I loved their own unique ways of showing their support for her.
This is for the ones who believe in fate and that there is someone out there who will love us for exactly who we are, flaws and all. It’s pretty deep and really sweet. I really loved that they both saved each other literally and figuratively. It is a bit insta love but it makes sense in this book. They feel like they know each other from the beginning because they do. The only real complaint I have is the end when Daniel remembers. I wish there was a little more to that moment. Other than that, this is a good book. Recommended if you’re a fan paranormal romance or parallel universes type of thing.

I adored Ghosted. Sarah Ready finds the perfect balance between funny and heartfelt, and always includes a good gut punch. Jillian first meets Daniel right after she moves into her new apartment, the only problem is he's a ghost. Popping up at the weirdest or worst times they work together to figure out how they're supposed to help each other. I loved that she was a shy nerd and his mission was to give her confidence. Jillian did eventually realize what she needed to do to help Daniel move on, and it's heartbreaking. Jillian's coworkers, Ned, Buck, Hayley, Bernardo, were all so amazing they each brought so much to the story. I was just as invested in Hayley and Bernardo as I was in Daniel and Jillian. I can not recommend this book enough, it's going to hurt but it's so worth it.

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre: New Adult, Romance, Women's Fiction

No. no, no, not womens fiction. Please stop using this category, men read romance, men write romance, there's no place for this outdated category on 2023.

My first book by Sarah and what fun. Did I have to suspend belief? Yes. Did it matter? no. This is fiction land. Oddly I found a couple of the “real life” parts harder to believe in than the paranormal bit ;-)

Jillian seems very needy at first and in a way irritated me, but as I got to know her and understand the trauma she's been through it lessened. She was funny and quirky, loyal to friends and her job, and speaking of which, what a terrific bunch of characters!
Daniel was just wonderful, right from the start. I just loved him, funny, kind, generous nature. And gorgeous ( yes, I can be shallow, I want my men to be attractive).
I kept wondering how this was going to play out, how Sarah was going to resolve things. She had a great solution though, one which brought in some much needed drama and down spots to the romance. I do love a bit of heart break, so long as there's a happy ending!
Its a great fun read, light and easy, something I needed after coming of some intense fantasy reads. I'm not sure I'd ever reread it, as I do with books I really love, but for this moment it was perfect for me.

Stars: five, a fun, light story, just what I was in the mood for.

Jillian, who suffers from trauma and finds it impossible to speak to men, moves into a new apartment that happens to be haunted by a very hot ghost--Daniel. Surprisingly, she doesn’t have trouble speaking to him. Is it possible to fall in love with a ghost? What happens when she is ghosted by that ghost? I think this might be my first paranormal romance and it wouldn’t be something I would ordinarily pick. Having said that, I thoroughly enjoyed it because the writing was snappy and the plot full of surprises. However, I do feel it was a little bit on the long side and the author probably could have shaved off about 15%. For that, my real honest review would be 4.5. Thanks Net Galley for an ARC of this book.

Sarah Ready has rapidly become a top 10 favorite author and auto buy author for me after I discovered her via The Space Between. Her writing is truly one of immense talent and intrigue.

This was a fun read and different from The Space Between, in a fun and lighter way. I usually cannot handle anything like ghosts or supernatural, but this was really sweet and overall enjoyable.

I think this would make a perfect audio book. I also think if I had listened to it instead of reading it I might have loved it.

I don't hate it i actually quite liked it, but the pacing was really slow and really boring sometimes especially the last 30/40%.

“𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭. 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈'𝐦 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞." "𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞?" 𝐈 𝐚𝐬𝐤. The quotes were perfect, absolutely stunning, but unfortunately that's about it. It took me so long to finish reading it.

This was my first experience reading a Sarah Ready book. I have to say that I am hooked. I loved Ghosted, a paranormal rom-com and I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed the fun flirty relationship between Jillian and Daniel and watching how that progressed despite the fact that Daniel is a ghost. The overall story felt like a fresh take on a romantic comedy. One of my favorite reads for 2023. Seeing Jillian develop confidence throughout the story because of Daniel's help was heartwarming. Then getting to see Jillian help Daniel open up and loosen up felt full circle.
Their story is sweet, funny, heartbreaking and oh so enjoyable.

I really really like this book! The fact that is in NYC (where I currently live) makes the story even better!
This book reminds me of “Just like Heaven” the movie! The story is just beautiful, well written and I fell in love with the characters!
The plot is great! Not what I was expecting and I LOVE IT! I would have liked a different reaction of Daniel remembering everything, like telling her something from the time they met before while she was leaving, and then be surprised by THAT! The second Epilogue was MAGNIFICENT! Gorgeous, it make me cried! Thank you for a great story!

Really enjoyed this, both Jillian and Daniel were really loveable main characters. I thought I predicted what was going to happen but I didn’t!
Gave me just like heaven vibes.
Has me thinking about alternative timelines and wanting to re-watch Star Trek 💕😂

Song: I Get To Love You by Ruelle

“I could find you anywhere. You’re like a flame, I’m drawn to you, everyone else is muted but you burn bright.”

“Do you have the time.” ⌚️👀🫦

Hey Trekkie’s 👽🛸 and paranormal romance lovers, you’re gonna love this one…but so will everyone else.

This book has what, on its face, may 𝙨𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 a juvenile / YA type of premise (ghost hottie / ghost boyfriend) but don’t sleep on this one…it has layers and a deeper, yet more subtle intimacy than you may could ever expect. That doesn’t mean there isn’t a time & place for some fun along the way. I had a blast getting to know Daniel and Jillian. I loved all of Daniel’s ghostly dating advice. Like you’ve gotta lookout for guys who take you on dates with intentions to “Nail and Bail” or “Ejaculate and evacuate.” 🤣😂

This book explores one of my worst fears…that I won’t be there for someone when they need me. The other one is someone feeling soooo unseen and having no one there to tell them they matter. The exact scenarios in this book terrify me.

The complexity of this book and all of the issues it addressed really surprised me in the best possible way. If this book wasn’t by one of my favorite authors I may have let it pass me by based on the synopsis alone. There is more going on here than any synopsis could do justice.

In true Sarah Ready fashion…this book is full of authentic characters you’ll love and won’t soon forget.

Ghosted is giving "Just Like Heaven" vibes, and I’m here for it! This book sucks you in but does feel a little slow/drawn out at times - I noticed it took longer to finish than other books I read. The paranormal romance was sweet, had good chemistry and the characters Jillian + Danial made me continue to read!

Thank you Netgalley + Sarah/W.W. Crown for the opportunity to read this ARC

Okay so I enjoyed this paranormal romance - I had an idea in my head how this story between Jillian and Daniel would play out and I was pleasantly surprised when Sarah Ready threw me for a loop with the second half of the book!
There were a lot of quirky side characters and even her work seemed too chaotic to be good - yet both played into the storyline just enough. I had a hard time with the 'insta-love', as I tend to do, and thought a couple of the "ghost spice" scenes were just a little too cheesey - and that's when I reminded myself I'm reading a "paranormal romance" so just let them be happy!!
I loved the second epilogue and was pleased with that tie in, it was a great way to end the book.
Give this one a read if you want a little nerdy, a little "alternate universe???", fun ghost boyfriend romance read!
Thank you, NetGalley and W.W. Crown for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

The first half of the book is excellent, then it kinda goes off the rails and gets weird. It went over my head a little bit and I felt lost.

This is part ghost story, which I LOVED but part something else that I'm not quite sure. Time travel? Sci fi? The book isn't sure what it wants to be.

The writing was solid and there's so great humor. This one just didn't fully land for me.
