I initially wasn’t convinced about this book. My first thought was how unbelievable it is that she falls for a ghost. The story was written in such a cute way. I found myself laughing at the characters. I found myself crying with the characters when they lost each other and crying when they found each other again. Had to finish it in one sitting to find out what happened!

This was an interesting take on the “ghost in my apartment” trope. It kind of reminded me of the Reese Witherspoon movies. This was interesting, I’d definitely read it again.

OH MY GOODNESS, THIS BOOK WAS SO BEAUTIFUL. Ghosted written by Sarah Ready was honestly my most favorite book of 2023. I'm not really a fan of ghost stories, but wow just wow, this book was utterly beautiful and so heart breaking. MY HEART IS COMPLETELY SHATTERED. Sarah, you owe me a few boxes of tissues, I sobbed my entire way through this book. Ghosted is such a beautiful, magical, heart shattering paranormal love story that will remain in my heart forever. Sarah Ready absolutely delivered with this beautiful book, it exceeded all of my expectations I look for in a romance novel. If I could, I would definitely give this book a million gazillion stars that it deserves. I sobbed, I giggled, I smiled, I felt so many emotions while reading this book. Don't even get me started on the cover, it's so gorgeous, but the story itself was just pheonmenal. I had tears streaming down my face on the very first page all the way until the very last page. I can't recommend this book enough, please do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of this beautiful book immediately. Oh no, i'm getting emotional writing this review. I can't explain how happy I am that I found a new favorite book of 2023.

First off, I would like to thank my girl, Carol for buddy reading this book with me💓. I absolutely loved sharing all of our theories and tears together😭💔. Y'all, I truly adore Carol, she is literally the sweetest💞.

THANK YOU TO NETGALLEY AND W.W. CROWN FOR AN ARC OF THIS HEART SHATTERING BOOK IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW!!!!!!

Ghosted is about loving and holding your loved ones a little closer, because in the next minute, days, months, and years everything could change for the worst. It's about confronting and forgiving your past and finally moving forward. It's about dealing with your insecurities, every one struggles with insecurities in their life time and Sarah Ready shows that it's absolutely okay to be insecure, but you should always look for the positives to confront your insecurities. Oh my heavens, I have no clue where to start with this book. I don't think ANY book could ever top this one. Jillian Nejat is the only dating and relationship expert on the planet who is incapable of talking to men. If they are living, if they are breathing, it's game over for Jillian. Jillian writes a dating and relationship advice column for work, but oddly struggles with talking to men in real life. Jillian's job is now in a dumpster fire because people are unsubscribing to her advice column because they feel like she's not actually helping them. My heart absolutely went out to Jillian while she was telling her story, I just wanted to reach into my kindle and give her the biggest hug.

With Jillian's bank account at zero, her job is a dumpster fire, her dating life is in a ten year slump because she can't talk to living men, Jillian moves into a dirt cheap, tiny apartment in New York City. But, unfortunately, the apartment is already occupied. I absolutely giggled at the term Jillian used for this new apartment she moved into, she calls it the maniac sex apartment because there's literally mirrors EVERYWHERE. Daniel, who has no last name, is a sexy shirtless, six pack wielding heart throb who is also, well....dead is occupying Jillian's new apartment. Daniel is a ghost and the only man Jillian can talk to. Daniel is so convinced that it's his afterlife mission to resurrect Jillian's love life so he can finally move on. Daniel tries to help Jillian get her love life back on track, but they have practice dates together, Jillian spills her life story out to Daniel, and soon feelings are being caught for one another, but how is that possibly when Daniel is a ghost? This paranormal love story was just so perfect. I absolutely adored the characters and everything else this book had to offer. Even though Daniel is a ghost, well....I'll admit it, he made me gush and swoon.

Since reading The Space Between by Sarah Ready, and becoming an automatic super fan, I had to pick up another book by her… and boy oh boy, I’m glad I did, because she’s done it again!! Ghosted has a very interesting premise and hooked me in from page one. I devoured it and became so invested in Daniel and Jillian that I couldn’t stop thinking about them and where their story was headed. If you’re looking for a story that is unique and rare, and will keep your attention the whole time - Ghosted is it.

I recommend this book if you enjoy:
- paranormal romances/rom coms
- magical and deeply emotional stories
- confronting your past and dealing with heavy insecurities
- a book that will hook you in from the very beginning
- fast paced with a rollercoaster of a story
- references for trekkies
- unique and original reads
- character development and life lessons

I didn't know what to expect going into this book, and I can genuinely tell you I couldn't have called the twist either!

Jillian is a male-shy, Star Trek obsessed lady living in New York. With mainly her parents, her childhood neighbor, and her best friend who lives in Geneva for company - Jillian's life is rather dull. But after moving into a new apartment (with very interesting interior design qualities) she finds a light in her usually dark world.

Firstly, can I just say that although my knowledge of science and Star Trek is lacking (and I spent moments of this book skimming over certain terminologies that I can't even pronounce let alone understand) I thought this romance was a very interesting set up. I won't lie when I say there were aspects where I felt like everything was going quite fast, and the whirlwind pace was quite off-putting, I was struggling to know whether I was coming or going. But by the twist (on the MET steps) I was speeding through the book.

I can imagine this book becoming a hallmark style movie, although I'm not sure if the spice will be in the films!

Daniel is the perfect gentleman, and there were many moments in this romance that were extremely annotation worthy! Not only did he help Jillian find the beauty in the everyday moments of her life, but helped her find her voice, her own beauty and helped her write some pretty good articles.

Sarah has an amazing writing power of being able to perfectly describe a setting so well that it feels almost like you're there. The hidden details of the locations not only help you imagine the scenes she's setting, but also form more emotions around what's going on.

I'd say that the spice is a 2/5 (I was going to say 2.5/5 but the scenes are very brief)

'You're my light and even in the dark I'll recognize you. You're my forever and even when I'm gone, I'll love you. I'll love you forever.''

A massive thank you to NetGalley and W.W. Crown for allowing me to read this ARC in advance for my honest review!

this is my first paranormal love story and i’m not too sure how i feel about it. the story was cute but just may not be for me. when reading the synopsis i was hoping for a cute romcom and less of sexual talk.

A sweet love story, with just a little soft spice.
Nerdy, with important topics. I listened to the audio book as well as I read the book myself and the narrator was perfect for this job.
The book kept me going as I was wondering how everything would turn out.

Another slice of escapist perfection from the talented Sarah Ready!

I have never had a ‘favorite’ author but a list of instant buy authors and a list of authors I enjoy and look out for—a few months back Sarah Ready joined the later with French Holiday. I read a couple more and she remained on that list but definitely towards the top. Then I read The Space Between and she jumped to the top of my instant buy list. With Ghosted she became my favorite author.

Sarah Ready has given countless hours of entertainment and escapes out of my reality. Her stories are filled with laughter, heart, and occasional tears and I have loved every minute I’ve spent in the worlds she creates.

Ghosted adds a paranormal/magical realism element to her storytelling and while that is not my go to romance read if she writes it I will read it—and it was a hit for me.

Ghosted brings us into the life of Jillian—a shy—doesn’t really cover it—woman who has struggled to interact with men since the loss of a childhood friend, that is until Daniel—a gorgeous half naked apparition enters the picture. Following their journey as they get to know each other and fall in love is bittersweet knowing it can never, yet hoping it will be.

A beautiful love story with a quirky and fun cast of characters that you will be rooting for!

Thank you for this ARC of ghosted! I really enjoyed this cute paranormal romance by Sarah Ready! Jillian is a sweet, loving and caring Star Trek loving girl who moves into a new apartment in NYC. On her first night there she meets Daniel, a ghost who shows up wherever she is. He swears he knows her but she’s never met him. He’s also the only man she can talk to without freezing up and being unable to speak. I think this was the strangest part of the book and why I took off one star. There is no disorder where you can’t talk to all men except like your dad and someone else. It was also a little cringe. But the rest of the book was sweet and the writing was good. Daniels character was well written as we see two different versions of him. Jillian grows throughout the book with the help of Daniel but they also grow closer together as well. The character descriptions need work as I couldn’t visualize either of them very well. They just were written so surface level. Other than that I did like it and wanted to keep reading that I read it in one day! #netgalley #sarahready #ghosted

Overall, I enjoyed Ghosted by Sarah Ready. The first half of the book had me hooked in....I couldn't put it down. I liked Jillian and Daniel's chemistry and the hurdle of Daniel being a ghost. I also liked the daily life scenes between Daniel and Jillian. What I didn't like was the last 30% of the book. The story lost its flow and read like a completely different book. Although the ending felt rushed, I was happy for the main characters. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

⭐ Overall Rating: 4.5 / 5 stars | 🌶️ Spicy Rating: 1 / 5

🚨CW: Mentions of suicide

📖Synopsis:
Jillian is a Star Trek-loving woman who pens love advice columns for a living. The issue is - Jillian doesn’t have a love life of her own. Due to her shyness and events of her past, she is unable to talk to men that are not family members. The exception to this rule is Daniel, the ghost who appears by her side the day she moves into her new apartment.

Daniel is a gorgeous ghost who follows Jillian everywhere. He only has vague memories of his life, but he is 100% sure that he knew Jillian before his “death.” However, Jillian is 100% positive she has never met Daniel before he popped into her life as a ghost, so how can that be? Ghosted tells the story of a fated love that cannot be stopped by anything - including time.

💭 My Thoughts:
When I read the synopsis of this book, I was expecting a slight variation on the plot of Just Like Heaven. The first half of the novel played into my expectations for the most part, but the second half of the novel subverted my expectations in the best way! I absolutely LOVED this book. Jillian and Daniel’s relationship had me laughing one moment and my heart aching in the next. They had a lot of big obstacles to overcome throughout the story, but their ending was absolute perfection. The first and second epilogue had me smiling ear to ear with my hand pressed to my chest. That’s how much I adored the ending of this book! I will definitely be adding a copy of this book to my library so that I can re-read it many times in the future.

The only (small) issue I had with the book was the beginning. I thought the opening chapter was unnecessarily expository. The writing wasn’t bad, but a lot of the details from the first chapter were not really necessary to the overall story (i.e., the mirrored apartment, Jillian’s parents). Other than that, this book was paranormal romance perfection in my eyes!

A huge thank you to NetGalley and W.W. Crown for allowing me to read this ARC in advance for my honest review!

I loved the author and the story, This was a great story that I think would do well on BookTok! I enjoyed that the side characters were also very entertaining. Reading and listening were both enjoyable for me. I loved the narration. Although I originally thought the book was long, it didn't feel as long while reading it.

My review:
Thank you to NetGalley for the audio and ebook ARC of this book.
Ghosted was a sweet story weaving together paranormal and romantic comedy.

Jillian is a shy journalist who has struggled in the dating department. A hot ghost appears in her new apartment and wants to help her with her dating life. The story was done in a unique way. While reading, I was looking forward to finding out how it would all come together in the end!

I have never read a book by Sarah Ready before this one, but she is now one I would definitely want to read again because I enjoyed her writing and storytelling,

Overall, I found this to be one of the best rom-coms I have read this year and I would definitely recommend it!

Sarah Ready had me in the first half, but the wheels fell off hard and fast when Daniel stopped being a ghost. If you’re the best there ever was at suspending your disbelief re: the way humans think and behave, you might be able to enjoy this book. Otherwise, I wouldn’t bother. The fact that there is not one but TWO instances of “I love you, let’s get married immediately” in this book genuinely boggles the mind.

In an interesting twist, the ghost element was the only one that made sense.

Also, we aren’t Trekkers, we’re Trekkies. Why is Ned the only character who gets that right??

I rate this book 5/5, mostly for the sheer happiness that I felt when I read it!

Jillian, the female lead, writes for The Daily Exposé in New York, and writes about relationships and love, though when it comes to dating, or even talking to men, she’s speechless, literally. Enter Daniel, the shirtless ghost who appears in her new apartment at a low point in her life. Opposites attract, sparks fly, and it’s up them to figure out unfinished business.

The first half of this book was somewhat predictable, but I thoroughly enjoyed the witty dialogue between the leads, as well as the supporting characters. Without giving away spoilers, I did guess one of the plot twists, but the way the story is ultimately concluded was something I could never have guessed. Was it a little off the rails as far as believability? Yes. Did it also surprise me by coming up with a new twist on this type of ending? Also yes. Regardless of any of that, did I find it satisfying? I did.

The book was definitely one that I could see split into two relatively distinct storylines, almost down the middle of the book. It makes sense for the plot (again, can’t say why, spoilers) why it’s so stark, so it’s not a problem.

Overall, is this a perfect book? No. Did I absolutely enjoy the time I spent reading it? Yes, 100%. I look forward to seeing it on shelves.

This one was so cute! I love Sarah’s writing and have had to read all her stuff since I first read Josh and Gemma’s stories! I truly can’t wait for what she writes next!

I loved the paranormal bits with our MMC being a ghost and felt reminiscent of The Dead Romantics with their growing feelings when they can’t be together.

Thanks so much to the publisher for my ARC!

I’ve gotta start this review off by saying I LOVED this book. I could barely put it down and was upset when I had to go to work earlier because it meant I had to pause my reading.

Jillian and Daniel were a wonderful book couple. Their love for each other was so pure, and I loved seeing them work everything out in the end. The book kept me guessing, which I really appreciated.

Thanks as always to NetGalley for this ARC.

Chapter 1 was heavy on description and exposition. I ended up skim-reading it. Chapter 2 gripped me, and I was really excited, but then chapter 3 went back to heavy exposition. Just not for me. The premise is fabulous. The cover is perfection. I hope it does well.

Thanks to NetGalley and Sarah Ready for the ARC.
