Fantastic. This is my third Sarah Ready ARC this year, and she’s officially on my must-read list. Her books are quickly becoming some of my favorite romance reads, and Ghosted is no exception.

In Ghosted, we meet Jillian. Jillian writes a relationship advice column that’s struggling just as much as she herself struggles with love and dating. Ironically, her advice- to always be yourself- is something she can’t do on dates- as she’s completely incapable of speaking to men.

That is, until one day, she meets Daniel, and she CAN speak to him. The problem is, Daniel is a ghost.

Witnessing the dance between Jillian and (both real and ghostly) Daniel as they get to know each other and try to figure out what the nature of their connection is- it’s utterly delightful. It’s impossible not to root for them to bridge the gap between them so they can save one another.

Thank you Sarah Ready, W.W. Crown, and NetGalley for providing this ARC for review consideration. All opinions expressed are my own.

PHENOMENAL!!! Thank you NetGalley and W.W. Crown, Independent Book Publishers Association for granting me access to this book in exchange for an honest review.

First off, I want to thank my girl, Cara, for buddy reading this amazing book with me. I loved sharing our thoughts and tears together. 😭😭💜💜

HOLY HEAVENS!! I absolutely loved this book so much🩷🩷!! Sarah Ready has done it again! After reading French Holiday and completely adoring it, I was ecstatic to receive this one and knew I was in for a treat! I can safely say it exceeded my expectations and is one of my favorite reads for 2023! What a beautiful, magical and deeply emotional paranormal love story that will remain in my heart forever! It's about confronting, forgiving and moving forward from your past, dealing with your insecurities and loving the people in your life. Ghosted was an emotional roller coaster of a ride that had my smiling, laughing and sobbing! I was hooked from the very beginning and could not stop reading! Literally, everything I could ever want in a romance book!!

Jillian writes a dating and relationship advice column but oddly struggles with speaking to men in real life. Strangely, she finds herself able to easily communicate with the endearing and hot ghost, Daniel, that appears in her new apartment. Daniel decides to help Jillian find love and overcome her fear of talking to men. He believes if he can save her from her problem it will help him to move on to the next life. What possible harm could it cause to let him help her? As they spend time together practicing dates and getting to know each other, they develop a deep connection that neither of them can deny. They realize that they could never be fully together because he is a ghost! All of a sudden, Daniel is gone and Jillian is left trying to move on and make sense of it all. Did he truly exist? Is he really gone for good?

Overall, it is such a unique and wonderful love story that kept me engaged to the very end. I cannot recommend this book enough and it deserves a million stars!!💫💫💫💫💫

Jillian has always struggled talking to men. That is, until a shirtless ghost named Daniel appears in her apartment. Daniel doesn't remember the circumstances of his death, just that there's a strong pull towards Jillian. He helps Jilly revive her career, talk to men, and be herself. Despite the circumstances, they fall in love.
Then he disappears.
Now Jillian is left to wonder why Daniel appeared in the first place, and how she can save him. So when she randomly runs into Daniel and he doesn't remember her, Jillian makes it her mission to make him remember and hopefully fall in love again.

Honestly, I'm surprised how much I enjoyed the story considering I don't normally go for paranormal romances. The initial meeting of Daniel in her apartment was quirky and left questions that it took the entire book to solve.

I do have some qualms about Jillian's character, though. The whole "can not talk to men" was super cringey. It would be more believable if she was just super awkward and embarrassing. Who goes on dates and just nods? It's unbelievable and the men seem almost predatorial who were cool with that.

Also, why did so many people decide to get married after admitting feelings for the first time? Nope.

However the uniqueness of this story does make me enjoy it and want to recommend it to others.

(I do suggest another round of edits for the first third of the book though 😉)

I just finished reading Ghosted. I could not put it down! This story was so intriguing and interesting. It was heartbreaking and heart repairing. I can relate to the tongue tied Jillian and I would love to find my own Daniel, although I hope to never meet a ghost I fall in love with! This is my second Sarah Ready book and I just know I’ll keep reading her books for years to come!!

Anything Sarah Ready writes I will read. I devoured this book in one sitting and I absolutely loved every second of it. Ghosted revolves around Jillian, a relationship and dating advice columnist for The Daily Exposé and Daniel, a sexy, shirtless ghost who haunts her new apartment. Despite giving relationship advice, Jillian is painfully shy and has a difficult time speaking to men due to her past. In addition to that, her articles are failing and is met with negative comments and she is at risk of being let go if she can’t bring up readership. Daniel decides his reason for not moving on into the afterlife is to help Jillian with her love life and advice column. What begins as a friendly help quickly morphs into something genuine.

I didn’t expect to cry while reading this book but I did. Ready writes so poignantly and tenderly while addressing some sensitive topics. This book was so emotionally yet humorously written. Ghosted is a story of acceptance, forgiveness, love, and being true to oneself. It’s a story of learning how to genuinely love and accept oneself while accepting love from others. It’s about loyal friendships and relationships and supportive coworkers who’ve become a found family. Furthermore, it’s an ode for Star Trek lovers and people who felt they needed to hide themselves in order to be seen. I love this book with everything in me and I’m so excited to read what Ready writes next.

Thank you so much to NetGallery for an arc in exchange for an honest review!

Does the fact that I read this book in 10 hours tell you about how much I enjoy it? The banter is off the wall good, and I have the biggest book crush on Daniel. Jilly is nerdy, witty and very relatable. I admire the aspect of the be who you are, and the right person will find you. Don't try to fit someone else's mold. Jilly was a strong and likeable character. Thank you Net Gally for the arc of this book.

Jillian writes an advice column for an online news site. It’s all about love, relationships, and sex. The irony is, Jillian can’t talk to men in real life aside from relatives. And apparently the sexy dead guy that haunts her new apartment.

What starts out as a mission to help Jillian with her dating life quickly turns into a deep connection that neither one of them can seem to stop. But just as Jillian is willing to sacrifice it all for Daniel, he’s suddenly gone and Jillian is left trying to move on from a man that didn’t even exist - or did he?

Ghosted is filled with a roller coaster of emotions. What starts as a paranormal mystery, quickly turns into a sweet paranormal romance, then takes a turn to desperate and stalker-ish, and somehow evens everything out at the end.

Jillian is innocent and quirky. She actually reminds me of a mix of Sheldon and Amy from Big Bang Theory. Her anxiety towards men is something I could relate to. While my anxieties are not as extreme as hers, I was able to empathize with her in her struggles to communicate with men. While the Daniel situation was unusual, I think he was exactly what she needed in order to move past those insecurities and the guilt that she had been holding onto with Michael.

Things did take a weird turn, going from touching and heart-tugging to a bit desperate. While I appreciated Jillian’s innocence in the beginning, I began to see her an emotionally immature. I did understand her thought process and reasoning behind going about it the way that she did, but it seemed a little over the top and dramatic.

Thankfully the story righted itself again and was pulling at my heartstrings again. Overall, I think this was a nice change of pace from the typical romance stories.

Ghosted" by Sarah Ready is a captivating paranormal romance that introduces us to Jillian Nejat, a dating expert facing an extraordinary challenge—she cannot speak to men. Her professional life is in ruins, and she takes refuge in a small New York City apartment, only to discover an unexpected roommate: Daniel, a charming and handsome ghost.

Ready's novel masterfully blends romance, humor, and the supernatural. Jillian and Daniel's journey to revive her love life while bridging the gap between their worlds is heartwarming and entertaining. The unique premise keeps readers engaged, and the witty plot twists create an intriguing narrative.

Jillian's inability to communicate with living men leads to an unlikely bond with Daniel, who becomes both a mentor and a confidant. The blossoming connection between them is beautifully portrayed, and as their emotions deepen, readers are immersed in a story of self-discovery and unexpected love.

"Ghosted" challenges the boundaries of conventional romance with its otherworldly element, offering a fresh perspective on relationships and personal growth. Ghosted by Sarah Ready is a paranormal romance and it's a really good book I admired the ghost (Daniel) who would not? He's such a man, a walking ghost red flag. I just love how they accepted each other's flaws and who they really were. Btw, thank you to the publisher who approves my request for the ARC of this title from Sarah Ready. I just love her books.

This book really came out of nowhere for me, in fact it blew me away. I loved everything about this book. Jillian is a shy, awkward journalist with no luck at dating, so when a hot ghost appears in her apartment and he is the only man she is capable of speaking to, he agrees to help her out. I was not prepared for the journey this book took me on, and it was so beautifully done there were tears in my eyes by the end. I urge you to stick with this one, initially it comes across as a typical romcom (with an added ghost element), but the story develops in a way I have never seen before. Some brilliant side characters too, Ned and Buck were hilarious and i LOVED Haley and Bernardo. Such a good read!! Thank you NetGalley for this one.

This makes me want to cry, but I sadly did not enjoy this read as much as I wanted to. When I read the synopsis, I was immediately begging the book Gods to lend me this. And I just feel so bad that I didn’t enjoy it. I truly wish you the best, and it’s still a five star for me because even though I didn’t enjoy it, nothing was wrong about it.

I absolutely cannot wait to read and share my thoughts on this! I apologize for being a bit under the weather my review will take me a bit longer than ex pelted, but what an intriguing storyline. I’m not one much for paranormal, but what a beautifully and well thought out story. I can see something like this translating to screen as well.
