Ghosted by Sarah Ready is a really cute romance novel with a paranormal twist to it. I am not going to lie I was sceptical getting into this. But I ended up enjoying it more than I thought it would. The characters are as per usual with Sarah Ready so well rounded. The plot has the perfect balance of depth and lightheartedness. For me there was only one downside to this and that was that it at times felt like reading a YA novel but I think that was more me than the novel itself. It is beautifully written and a really cute premise. I would without a doubt recommend this one.

this was unexpectedly so beautiful. was it unrealistic and outlandish? yes. but was it a beautifully written story that made chest ache? 100%. sarah ready's talent is insane.

I have really enjoyed every Sarah Ready book I’ve read so it pains me to give Ghosted a ⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating, but this one missed the mark for me. I enjoyed the first half of the book but the second half of the book felt drawn out and the second ending was underwhelming. A fun concept, just not executed that great. I will say, the dynamic between Jillian and Daniel was fun, I loved the banter, but the insta-love and paranormal sex scenes were a bit too much for me. It won’t stop me from picking up another Sarah Ready book though.

Thank you to NetGalley and W.W. Crown for providing me a copy of this title. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.

This book is wonderful. It has a plot that keeps you turning the pages until the impossible suddenly becomes possible. Some of the best characters I've ever read. The author is incredibly talented. I will not reveal anything of the plot because it is a mystery that keeps giving and giving. Even if you aren't a fan of romance, or paranormal, the mystery and the writing will keep you hooked. A must read.

I'm a HUGE Sarah Ready fan - but this one sadly didn't do it for me. I LOVE magical realism and can even do a touch of time and space travel but I struggled with Ghosted :( I liked the characters and the premise of the book - I'm still keeping her on my pre-order everything sight unseen list - I'm sure this one just wasn't meant for me. Thank you to NetGalley and Sarah Ready for an advanced copy of Ghosted in exchange for an honest review. FANTASTIC narrators though!

This was cute! It had 'Just Like Heaven' vibes (you know, the movie with Reese Witherspoon), but a little more adult! My biggest problem came in the fact that even though the scenes and settings were geared towards adult audiences, the writing and dialogue between the characters felt really juvenile to me.

An issue I have with romance books especially (not romantasy or anything like that), but strictly contemporary romances is that some of them are extremely long for no good reason. If stuff happens, then great, but even then do we *need* 500 pages? No. Ghosted unfortunately fell into the "too long for it's own good and it's killing the vibes" bucket, which is sad because the premise was so great and it started off pretty strong.

Ghosted was published in September 2023. Thank you to W.W. Crown, Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), NetGalley and the author for the advanced digital copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I have never read a paranormal romance before and this was FUN. I loved it, but at times it was maybe a little cringy? Either way this was a blast to read and I look forward to the second book in the series.

I loved the mystery/paranormal element to this story. I loved how twisty the plot was since that is not a common execution of contemporary romance.

First thought: Sci-fi and Paranormal Romance is not really my thing but this one intrigued me. I really enjoyed it, kept me on my toes with a few plot twists. If you like the movies: Ghost or Just Like Heaven, you’ll like this one.

Jillian is looking for love. She works as a relationship advice columnist and yet she has one major issue: she can’t talk to men. She’s never been great at it but after loosing a loved one 9yrs ago it’s gotten worse and she can’t even get a hello out. So it made it very challenging to find the love of her life as you can imagine.

She just moved into a new apartment in NYC closer to her job and its wall to wall mirrors and came at a low price she couldn’t pass up. No one told her it also came with a hunky, shirtless, man like ghost! Jillian is a rational person, she loves sci-fi and is a Trekkie but even a hot ghost is a far stretch for her to process.

Daniel is drawn to Jillian but he can’t remember his past all that he knows is she’s his light. After the initial shock of his presence, and him accepting he is a ghost they hit it off. Daniel is the one guy Jillian can actually talk to, so it figures he’s dead!

Daniel decides he’s there to help her with her issue talking to men and her job sink her reviews at work have been bad, no one wants her relationship advice. He has lots he can teach her and maybe by helping her, he can move on. But as things develop he quick realizes maybe he doesn’t want to…

Literally Themes you’ll find:

* Paranormal Romance
* Fated Lovers
* Trekkie 🖖🏻
* Insta-Love
* Forced Proximity
* Plot Twists
* NYC Setting

I have read other books by the same author and I will always cherish her stories.
At first, I was skeptical of the premise that this was going to be a book that I would not like. You know when the author hits her limit of the year of writing good books, goes into a slump then comes out with good books again but I was so wrong. I loved all the characters. Jillian and Daniel are *cries in the corner*
Sarah Ready has a way of writing emotions and they are so raw and heartbreaking. This is the kind of love everybody deserves. The unconditional love we all came to know. Don't get me wrong these aren't fairy tales they are just so tragically beautiful.
Her books have great plots which are well-constructed and orchestrated.
There were so many questions that came up like who is this guy? How did he die? and why is it that only Jillian can see him and nobody else can? I was sure there was going to be a screwed-up explanation in the end which wouldn't make sense but I was wrong. But it was handled really well and almost scientifically possible sort of way.
I ALWAYS recommend Sarah Ready's books and I will always stand in any line to get physical copies signed by her. If at all. Sadly having her books shipped to my India costs a lot so I end up buying the kindle versions of the ones which I have loved a lot.
Thankyou to the publisher and Netgalley for sending me an ARC of this book.

I requested this because I really liked the Space Between, so I knew that I would like this one. Intuition was right, and she didn't disappoint.
Jillian is just like me for real, talking to men is scary. Falling in love with a dead man is crazy--you finally find a man that's easy to talk to and it turns out bro is dead?? I think I would actually lose my mind.
This book was fun--ghosts just existing in an otherwise contemporary romance novel that doesn't have paranormal elements is cool, and I really like the message that they have to help each other to move on. Daniel helps her start to open up and talk to men, while also giving her someone who is willing to listen. When she opened up to him about why she couldn't it actually killed me. How she helps him really isn't explained. He finds out he's dead, obviously, and they have a connection, but then he just up and disappears. Left us all hanging really. I was a little worried that they wouldn't have their HEA. Which like it isn't required in romance, but I would have been a little disappointed.
Only reason it isn't getting 5 stars is because it was a little difficult to get into at first.
Thanks again to netgalley, the publisher, and to Sarah Ready for the opportunity to read this book.

An interesting read. I hadn’t read a supernatural romance before (not sure if You’ve reached Sam falls into that category but closest comparison I can think of), so I went into it unsure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised, especially in the second half. I was sceptical with how the author was going to make it work but she pulled it off thankfully, as I was nervous to root for a couple when it seemed a complete waste of time! This book was funny, heartbreaking, and heartwarming, dragging the reader through a gamut of emotions. Looking forward to reading more from this author. Thanks Netgalley.

I loved this book so much!! It came out in September so I received the digital ARC after it was published and just got around to it, but I'm kicking myself for not reading it sooner because it was that good. I was actually able to get the audio download from my library so I could read and listen at the same time and the bright side of just now reading it is that the next one comes out in February so I was able to get it on here and have already started it; I am PUMPED. This is the first book I have read by Sarah Ready and I really enjoy her writing. It's funny, heartfelt, anxiety-inducing at times and definitely kept me on my toes. The twist was not at all what I was expecting and the premise was so unique. It was just so "fucucking" good (iykyk) and Daniel and Jillian are lovable, entertaining main characters.

It's really fun that Jillian's the only one who can see/hear Daniel so she has to try to communicate with him without looking crazy and I love that he keeps a running dialogue regardless of where she is. The way they just make each other happy whether arguing (but not realllly arguing), pointing out something the other would like, or when Daniel is trying to coach her on how to pick up a man. I was wondering why Jillian has trouble talking to men but keeps going on blind dates knowing that they will be awful but once that's explained it feels more realistic.

Jillian's coworkers and Fran are also great comic relief and I love the camaraderie and support they provide. Even if they're not all particularly likable at times, they are always protective of Jillian. Jillian and Daniel show that love transcends time and space and what's considered possible. They are both all in and it's definitely more effort on Jillian's part and more of a "sacrifice" in some ways to be falling for someone that you can't touch or prove is really there. It's really a great love story, that's light and fun but doesn't shy away from deeper topics and creates a world/atmosphere that the reader can feel like they are a part of or picture themselves in.

Ghosted is a 5 star read for me and I really recommend it to all romance readers and those who like opposites attract, nerdy FMCs, dating coaching, found family, Star Trek, and love without boundaries.

I read and listened to this one so I can attest to both the fantastic writing and engaging narration. Whether you read or listen to Ghosted you will not be disappointed, but if you can do both at the same time, I think that's a great option!

Thank you NetGalley and W.W. Crown for the digital copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I really loved this novel from Sarah Ready and it may even be one of my favorites from her. I instantly fell in love with the main characters, Jillian and Daniel. Throughout the story, Ready took her readers on a rollercoaster ride of feelings while provoking all the thoughts and emotions. I loved the paranormal aspect, as well.

I had a hard time putting this one down and couldn’t wait to know how it would wrap up, while simultaneously never wanting it to end! I can’t wait for the next in the series to be released.

I enjoyed French Holiday a lot so I really look forward to reading this book. Jillian is relationship expert except that she can't speak to men in real life. She moves into a cheap NYC apt where she sees a ghost, Daniel. Daniel is convinced that he can move on to the next life after he helps her.

A fun book. Love the ghost and magical part. Very nice pacing. and a very cute story. I love how Daniel and Jillian got together. Their interactions are so cute! Daniel is swoony and i love his speeches especially.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

The beginning of the story was funny and cute, it had me hooked and looking forward to keep reading. My favorite characters were all of them! This was a cute and heartwarming story. I am not usually a fan of romantic stories but I enjoyed this one.

I went into this book thinking it’d be a funny little rom com sort of book, no. It ripped my heart out and REPEATEDLY stamped on it. The first half I was feeling very 👀 about this I’m ngl, I was questioning the entire plot and what was going to happen. The second half …. BOY when I say I wasn’t ready!!!! I didn’t expect to enjoy this as much as I did, it made me feel so many things - I spent most of the second half just sobbing or grinning like a loon. PLEASEEEEE IF U LIKE ROMANCE PLEASE READ THISSSSS YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED (but you may cry your heart out)

Ghosted by Sarah Ready is a love story about a couple destined to be together, no matter how it has to happen. It started out a little strange but then started to make sense. Very enjoyable and satisfying love story. It looks like this is book 1 of the series so I'm interested to see where this series will go!

WOW this book surprised me! When I read the blurb, I thought how is this going to make sense with a seemingly dead MMC and a very much alive FMC?

Well wow the author was so original with this idea! I think many people who read the book will say that it can be divided into two parts - one when Jillian meets and interacts with Daniel, and two after Daniel is gone and how Jillian deals. All in all, I’d definitely reccommend it!

Special thanks to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
