I enjoyed this book, it had some fun moments in it. Overall it wasn’t my favourite and at times i felt bored but i enjoyed it and the characters.
I instantly fell in love with this book! The back and forth between Jillian and Daniel was amazing. When he just showed up in her apartment, as a ghost no less, I would’ve had the same reaction Jillian had, but man I would’ve been interested too. I am so happy with the way this book played out. The timeline of this book worked perfectly in my opinion, even though there was an element of come back in time, I think the pattern of events worked really well for this book. It made me laugh, I felt so many emotions, there is mention of off page self harm and suicide that pulled at my heart strings, so be prepared for that and check triggers! My only critiques are that the book was a little longer than I thought it needed to be in MY personal opinion, and there is a lot about StarTrek in here and I didn’t get any of the references because I haven’t seen any of the films. However neither of those took away my enjoyment of the book. A great, swoony paranormal rom com! Highly recommend!

Once again, a beautiful cover and a whimsical premise only leads to disappointment and wasted time.
This seemed like it would be a lovely little slice of paranormal romance. A ghost acting as Jillian's dating guru to help her find her "one true love"? But then Jillian falls for the ghost? Hokey but I can suspend my disbelief and cynicism to get on board.
Unfortunately, this book rubbed me wrong from the beginning. My first issue is nit-picky and unique to me: I'm a real estate agent in NYC. I've rented plenty of sight-unseen apartments and there's not a snowball's chance I wouldn't mention that the apartment is COVERED in mirrors. And then as I kept reading, NYC as a setting didn't work for me. It didn't feel real or accurate.
The pacing absolutely drags! I skimmed whole pages and only really missed out on descriptions. Everything was given an unnecessarily elaborate description. It was annoying and desperately needed the attention of an editor.
Jillian's inability to speak to men other than her father or boss didn't have a strong enough foundation. I would've hated this less if we knew why Jillian can't speak to men. I didn't finish the book so I'm guessing but it seems like it's trauma-related? And that's fine but you need to lay the groundwork. Otherwise it seems like a weird quirk that a man is going to help her overcome (*eye roll*). It also diminishes the lived experiences of people with selective mutism.
Once I decided I wasn't continuing with this, I read some reviews to look for spoilers on what happens/how it ends. It sounds like there's some heavier emotional content that the author does a decent job with? In addition to needing another round of editing, I think this needed to be pitched differently. It might have been better served by being a new adult or contemporary fiction novel with the romance storyline playing backup.
But as it stands, this is one I'm obviously not recommending.
I enjoyed the idea of this one but didn’t love the execution. It certainly had some great moments but overall it wasn’t my favourite.
The characters meet when Daniel seems to be haunting Jillian’s new apartment (which is hilariously decorated by the previous tenant). Daniel has minimal recollection of his past and decides to assist Jillian in her efforts to date and be able to talk to men.
They fall in love in the first half but then get separated and Jillian has to fight to get her newfound love back. I found the characters to be very different in the second half. Daniel I can understand but Jillian was suddenly super confident and persistent. I guess that’s what love does?
I enjoyed the ending, I love a happily ever after. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a cute paranormal romance
I like the writing style of the author. She draws you in to the story. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me review this book.
I loved this book I thought it was a wonderful romance! It was a fast pace slow burn and I just loved the angst of it all!
This book is a perfect book if you want a ghost boyfriend. If you are a
"trekkie" then you will appreciate this book.
I really wish we could’ve saw Daniel’s point of view at times in this book. I do also wish that maybe the book opened with the accident but I understand now why it did not. I must say it did take a bit to get into it but once I did- I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I loved this book! The writing was great and the characters were wonderful! The author has great imagination and I love a good romance novel!
J’adore.
I enjoyed this book so much! It was so cute and made me laugh out loud. This is my first book from this author but I definitely plan on reading more from them! Definitely one of my favorite reads from this fall. The characters were so easily lovable, and I loved the relationship between Daniel and Jillian. I was shocked when I read how Daniel passed on, no spoilers here, but I was definitely not expecting that!
Overall great read, I can't wait to read more from this author! Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this books.
In a love story with a twist, author Sarah Ready poses an interesting question in Ghosted. What if you struggle to meet "the one"? Or even better, what happens if you struggle with the basics? For Jillian Nejat, dating is more than challenging; it's the definition of impossible. That is until she meets Daniel, a beautiful, funny man who appears unexpectedly in her apartment. There's only one problem: Daniel is a ghost. What follows is a humorous and thoughtful walk through "what if ." This is a love story worth reading.

3.5 stars
In a way, I think this is the best Sarah Ready book I've read so far (out of the three), and it would make an adorable movie. It reminded me of Just Like Heaven, which I love. However, it did have quite a bit of sexual content in it, which was a big strike against it. 3.5 stars for that. Make a movie, but leave those parts off screen. The book would have been much cuter without them. It made me laugh and smile at times, and it made me cross my fingers at others.
That said, it was a very cute book. Jillian and Daniel (both in their late 20s, if I remember correctly) are perfect for each other, which sounds very odd since he's the wealthy, sex-symbol president of an expensive watch company and she's an extremely shy Star Trek nerd who works for a small online news outlet. They brought out the best in each other, though. I'm almost tempted to go back and view their interactions again from the perspective I have after finishing the book.
Secondary characters were good, too. Buck reminded me solidly of Todd Packer from The Office, but without all the sexual harassment risks. Ned reminded me of someone, but I can't quite figure out who or what he's from. Haley and Bernardo were less amusing, but I liked them and the support they gave. Fran, too, was just loving and kind when you got past all of the many blind dates she set Jillian up on. And Jillian's friend, Serena, was just what she needed in her life, even across an ocean. I just realized that there's a book about her coming out next year, so I'll keep that on my radar.
Note: Language, including some f words (I think?). A few sex scenes, ranging from moderate to somewhat graphic. Unnecessary.

I have read another book from her and enjoyed it so I picked this up. I like the twists and wondering!
It took me three months to finish this book, but I finally did it. It was a fluctuating reading because of the way the story was structured. I connect to what many other readers have expressed in previous reviews and confirm that the plot of the story is cute and piques interest, not to mention the dynamic between the characters presents good chemistry. The thing that stops me the structure of the narration. I don’t know if the author had wanted to experiment with some kind of writing or if it is a distinctive feature because it’s the first book I read of Ready so I make assumptions. I must say that on the one hand, it is interestin because it upsets the classic order of narration, on the other, it made me lose interest. An example is the relationship between the two protagonists that develops too fast, when I would have preferred a slow burn. From the plot I expected to find a paranormal story and I was surprised when I found scientific explanations. I did not like the change of route because from the plot I expected a paranormal love story, but I think this is more of a personal taste and is not the main reason why the story didn't excite me. For sure it’s an entertains reading that has fun moments where the dialogues are well structured and the secondary characters are engaging.

This one had potential, but ultimately missed the mark for me and wasn't my cup of tea. I think a lot of readers will enjoy it though. I loved this author's last book. Thank you so much for a chance to read!
This was my first read by this author, and I’ll definitely be reading more. This little paranormal mystery, turn rom-com was full of heady emotion. Just the right type of book for in between some of my dark reads. Did I have to suspend belief? - Yes. Was the main MC a little needy and immature at times? - Yes. I easily forgave any niggles for what was overall a cute, fun, highly humorous and entertaining
Paranormal romance is my jam. This was a great new take on it for me and it was emotional and intriguing! Very sweet and was a fast read because I didn’t want to stop! This was my first Sarah Ready book and it was so good! I will be reading more from her! Can’t wait to see what she does with this series.
Thanks so much for an arc of Ghosted. The blurb of this book drew me in. It sounded like a fun, quirky rom-com. While it was these things, it was also more than that. There were also hard hitting topics. I loved the main characters, but I also loved Jillian's found family at the paper. I would love to see more stories of them. This book was great. I didn't have everything figured out and there were unexpected turns. I will definitely be recommending it. Thanks so much! This book was a treat!
LOVED this book! It was genuine and well paced up until the big end....and then it just flogged out. Honestly I enjoyed the main character's tenacity and wit,
3.75 rounded up!
I did not think I would be into this book. It started, and I was like "Oh na this is gonna be shit." and I ended up REALLY enjoying it!
Thank you Netgalley, for this E-ARC!
