Ghosted by Sarah Ready is a delightful and heartwarming romance that I thoroughly enjoyed. This contemporary love story revolves around Rachel and Ian, who cross paths in a coffee shop and embark on a captivating romance filled with unexpected twists and turns. The plot explores the complexities of modern dating and personal growth, keeping listeners engaged from start to finish.
The writing in Ghosted is witty and engaging, allowing readers to connect with the characters and their experiences. The story is replete with humorous and heartfelt moments that keep you invested in their journey. Sarah Ready's ability to create relatable characters and authentic dialogues adds depth to the overall narrative.
What sets this book apart is its fresh take on modern dating and relationships, addressing the challenges and uncertainties of our digital age. It's a relevant and relatable story for readers of all ages. While I thoroughly enjoyed "Ghosted," I rated it four stars instead of five because there were moments when the pacing felt a bit slow, and I wanted a little more development in some of the secondary characters.
In summary, Ghosted is a charming and contemporary romance that will tug at your heartstrings and leave you with a smile on your face. With its witty writing and relatable characters, it's a must-read for anyone looking for an entertaining and heartwarming love story.
Ghosted is a whole new take on the ghost romance in Ghosted. How can you not want to pick up a story about a half naked ghost romance? Was he a porn-star? Was he a gigolo? What is he doing half-naked here? These are the questions that Jillian is asking when she finds a friendly, six-pack heartthrob ghosting around her new apartment. Her life is a wreck, so why not add a ghost into the mix?
The premise for this book is so amazing. There is wonderful social anxiety representation and it is a deeply emotional story about healing, trauma, personal growth and, yes, romance. I love how this author weaves a story to include so many things, but not make it overbearing. This is such a beautiful romance between two people who are the most unlikely of lovebirds.
At about the halfway point in this book, it becomes a bit stalkerish. I am not sure if it was because I was also reading a thriller about a terrifying stalker at the same time as this one, but I really did not find the stalking cute or romantic. It made me really uncomfortable and I wasn't a huge fan of that part of the story. So if you don't like a love story about someone that is willing to risk it all, and be stalkerish about it., for love, then this is not the book for you.
Even though this is my least favorite by this author that I have read so far, there were so many amazing things in it. It was witty and had some very funny moments, while still being respectful of the loss Jillian had endured and her extreme social anxiety. I will continue to autobuy and recommend anything and everything Sarah Ready
4* It was so emotional, I couldn't get my mind wrapped around it.
I was expecting something different, something funny where a professional relationship expert had a very bad personal love life... It was so much more. I feel kind of speechles about how Sarah Ready can conjure such deep emotions with a story like this.
This book is the perfect example of wishing for something and getting so much more.
Do you believe in ghosts? Jilian thinks they can't be real, then she comes face to face with something she can't explain and keeps getting mixed with Daniel.
With his humor and his persistence about knowing her and being friends he slowly slips under her skin and she finds herself falling for him...
But why is he here and how much time have they?
The first part of the book is totally enjoyable, there's plenty of banter and humor, but this is no simple reading. Jilian has a past which highly influence her everyday life and we get to discover it little by little.
The romance is everywhere, but how can you fall for a ghost? I kept telling myself, ok where is this going from the beginning but I was really lost at some point.
I felt like it was a little bit long in some point, it was not truly dragging, but I couldn't see where the story was going and it got me a little frustrate, but how I wrote in the beginning it was all very emotional and I couldn't end but loving it.
This was my second book by Sarah Ready after French Holiday and I really look forward to read more books of this author.
Thank you NetGalley for providing this book as an Arc in exchange of an honest review.
This one was such a sweet little read! It honestly had me balling in parts!
I loved the characters (ghosts as well), and couldn't put it down!
This is going to be so hyped!!
Jillian Nejat finds herself connecting with the charming ghost, Daniel. The witty banter between them adds a delightful touch to this supernatural romance. Ready's writing is engaging, and the novel offers plenty of laughter and heartwarming moments. Ghosted is an enjoyable read for fans of quirky romantic comedies.
Jillian Nejat is the only dating and relationship expert on the planet who is incapable of speaking to men. If they’re living, if they’re breathing, it’s game over.
With her bank account at zero, her career a dumpster fire, and her dating life in a ten-year slump, she moves into a tiny, dirt-cheap NYC apartment.
Unfortunately, the apartment is already occupied.
Daniel (no-last-name) is a sexy, shirtless, six-pack wielding heartthrob who is also…dead.
He isn’t living. He isn’t breathing. He’s a ghost. He’s also the only man on the planet that Jillian can talk to.
Soon, Daniel’s convinced that it’s his afterlife mission to resurrect Jillian’s love life. He knows, if he helps her fall in love then he can move on. Jillian agrees. The last thing she needs is a Lothario ghost haunting her living room.
But then, one practice date leads to another, one confession leads to more, and suddenly Jillian fears she’s falling for the one man she can never have.

ok.
A whole new topic i've never encountered before.
My new favourite read!
I've never read a book quite like this. I really thought I had figured it out, but when it was revealed, I was pretty far from figuring it out.
Jillian is very quiet. So quiet in front of men that she really doesn't talk. At all. So when she gets a new apartment and a man shows up that she can talk to, there's something very, very different about him. He's a ghost. Who only Jillian can see.
He's good-looking and thinks he's been sent to Jillian to help her with her life. So that's what he does. She's in a rut with her love life, and her job is looking bleak.
It has some humor (especially when they're out together and at her job) and some romance. I really enjoyed it. Jillian was a different character than I'd ever read before.
Adorable, sweet, Star Trek loving Jillian and shirtless, straight-shooting, loyal Daniel are my new favourite duo. An unlikely couple, in terms of personality but also because Daniel is a ghost. Yes, this book is about ghosts and so does require a bit of imagination and the reader to suspend belief, but it doesn’t detract or take you out of the story.
The book is divided into two parts, and I found the second half of the book more captivating that the initial chapters, which while necessary to set up the premise and science around the situation felt a bit too jargon heavy, even as someone who LOVES all things Star Trek.
The story has a bit of mystery combined with a rom-com and overall just felt magical. The banter between Jillian and Daniel is hilarious from the get-go and the side characters were just as fun as the MCs!
I love how Ready subverted my expectations for the second half of the book and took the plot in a unique direction. The book is emotional and has a depth I wasn’t expecting as it looks into the why behind Jillian’s difficulty talking to men and the guilt she has around past relationships.

I love a ghost relationship troupe. The quirky characters, the mystery around the ghost, and his importance in the main character, Jillian's life. It had me thoroughly entertained. I liked the first 60% of this book more than the end. Somewhere around 60% it started to slog for me and everything felt like it was going too slow. I think the author could have cut 50pages and still had a great story. Would i recommend this book? I’m honestly not sure. If the premise sounds good to you, give it a try!
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

Scared to talk to men and the only man she starts to feel comfortable talking to is a ghost, to going on dates with a ghost & "making love" with a ghost - this book has many unexpected twists and it left me wanting more. This book tugged at my heart strings. Even the ending was perfect. Sarah Ready wrote this book beautifully.
I REALLY love Sarah Ready's writing style so for the first third of the book I was totally in. I initially didn't think I would like this because of the paranormal aspect because I find it so cheesy a lot of the time but I actually liked the way she introduced it in this. However, my mind quickly changed when she started having sex with the ghost. The speed at which the relationship with the ghost developed was way too rushed and unrealistic. I really liked the other parts of the book when she got to know the real person though. Although, I did feel like that relationship was a bit rushed towards the end as well. They had such a natural incline and then their actual profession of love felt forced. Overall I thought this was a really cool concept and started off really great and had some other really interesting moments, also had a lot of unrealistic forced moments. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this advanced copy in can I help you exchange for an honest review.
Sarah Ready I an auto-buy author for me ever since I read Josh and Gemma. She has a remarkable talent for making books that are funny, that make you swoon, but that are also deeply emotionally charged. This one was no different.
Daniel is a ghost and Jillian is the only one who can see him. It was beautiful. You get to watch them bond and get to know one another and every bit of it was amazing. Even though she writes a dating column, Jillian has trouble getting close to men, and Daniel doesn't understand why he is a ghost or know what happened to him. Daniel offers her guidance, and she him. You watch them become deeply emotionally connected but know it can't go anywhere because.... He's a ghost.
I couldn't understand how this book could have a happily ever after, but trust b me the journey was worth it and it will surprise you.
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for this ARC.
Going into this book, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was gearing up to have my heart shattered and I’m happy I’d didn’t quite happen the way I was thinking. I really enjoyed Ghosted. I loved Jillian and Daniel so much. Their dynamic was entertaining and the chemistry was there from the start. This book kept me guessing until the very end. I wasn’t sure how they would make it work but they did. I adored the side characters as well. The office scenes were some of my favorites and made me laugh out loud. I really enjoyed this book and I cannot wait to read the next one!
I absolutely LOVED this book! Ghosted will be the first book I’ve read by the author but if they’re all like this, it definitely won’t be my last. The chemistry between the two characters was just so swoon worthy & extremely cute, it made it hard to not fall for them. Jillian reminds me a lot of myself before meeting my husband, so maybe that’s why I loved the book so much. While I do agree that there were some parts that were unnecessarily detailed, making it longer than it needed to be, I was not ready for this one to end. Finding another romance book that I enjoyed as much as this one is gonna be hard… can we talk about a book hangover? I’ll be thinking about Jillian & Daniel for a long time! This book could easily be made into a movie, it really was just that good.
“I love you. Even when this life is done. I’ll always love you.”
Thank you NetGalley & publisher for an eARC of this title in exchange for an honest review.
I read Sarah Ready's "Josh and Gemma Make a Baby" a couple of months ago and I absolutely adored it. I was so excited to read "Ghosted" because I wanna experience the same thing again. Sadly, this book didn't do it for me.
I feel like this could've been 100+ pages shorter. It was too long. There were a lot of annecessary descriptions about things and settings and it got boring too many times. There were also a lot of unimportant scenes that could have been omitted or shortened, at least.
I liked that it wasn't the typical ghost story but other than that, it was just 'meh' for me. I didn't really like the characters. I wasn't able to relate to them in any way. I didn't feel any emotions for them. I was just reading for the sake of finishing this book. I came to a point several times that I just wanted to DNF it.
Sorry but this book really got me exhausted. I wanted so badly to like it but it just wasn't for me.
✨ Thank you W.W. Crown and NetGalley for giving me an ARC in exchange for an honest review. ✨
I was so excited when i found this new book from Sarah Ready, and i quickly requested it here to get the arc. The synopsis sounded quite promising hence i was looking forward to binge-read it. Unfortunately there were some things in the book that I didn't really like such as the insta-love, the shirtless ghost guy (why is he shirtless? It feels weird to me), the uninteresting FMC and also the chapters feel boring. I didn't feel interested in reading it anymore once i realized the plot isn't exactly what i expected it to be. However, i still pushed through the boom cause it would be a waste to not finish it after getting this arc. Hence, i decided to give this book 3 stars.
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!
I went into this book blind, not knowing what to expect. I’ve read books before where the main girl falls in love with a ghost (Dead Romantics being my favorite!) so I was wondering how this one how live up to the others. What kind of spin could Ready put on this plot? Well, I was not prepared for this one - it hits all the feels.
Also, that first sentence had me dying (no pun intended) right away!
“If I’d known my new apartment was a s3x maniacs love den, I would have never invited my parents along.”
Daniel is just the perfect guy. Sure he came across as a player in the beginning, but he has such a soft side - especially for Jill. By chapter ten he was telling her she was beautiful when she was doubting herself, and then he made her laugh for the rest of the evening. *Sigh* I just really like him. Even when we see him later in the novel he is just the perfect man for Jillian.
Jillian is such a likable character too. She’s just herself and doesn’t try to be someone she isn’t. Not everyone can say that, and I really admire her for it. When she comes out and explains why she can’t talk to men, my heart ached for her. She soon becomes a woman who is determined and would go to great lengths to win Daniel back.
Let’s talk about some of these chapters, y’all. The FEELS ARE REAL! Ugh, my heart went from fluttering to just plain old hurting. Chapter 21 was just breathtaking and such a beautiful scene. Chapters 22 and 27 had me reaching for the tissues. Not even halfway through the book and I was blubbering! The last half? Man I was broken and put back together more times that I can count.
There is no doubt in my mind that I will be picking up another book by Sarah Ready in my future. Her writing is phenomenal and reminds me somewhat of Ali Hazelwood’s style, but still uniquely her own. Dean Romantics used to be my favorite in this magical realism genre, but this one has surpassed that a million times.
I had many theories for how this one would play out. I was partially right about one aspect about who Daniel really is. However, once we got there, there was a whole new twist that completely wrecked me. Jill, my heart crumbled right with ya.
If you want a story that is like nothing you have read with no cliches that makes you have all the feels (laughing one moment while blushing and then crying the next) please pick up this book. I did not regret reading this one for one moment. I cannot say enough good things about this book. Utter perfection.

Ghosted by Sarah Ready
.
Jillian has just moved into a new studio apartment. Unfortunately this apartment is haunted by a hot, and also dead, man named Daniel, who doesn’t seem to accept that he is a ghost.
.
What I liked:
-I really liked Jillan. Every new thing I learned about her just endeared her to me more. 💜
-I was not quite sure how a whole “love story but one of them is a ghost” was going to play out, so it kept me intrigued.
-This book went a direction I was not quite expecting and I respect that.

4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I recently read The Space Between by Sarah Ready, and I was excited to get my second book by her from NetGalley. Ghosted is a fantastic romantic novel, and I loved everything about the book! The characters (even the ghost) are so likeable and well-developed. I liked how the author developed the storyline, and the conclusion was so satisfying. I laughed and cried while reading the book, and I think that is the highest praise a romance novel can get! Thank you, NetGalley, for the advance reader copy of this fun book!
A very cute read. Perfect if you just want to have a good time. The characters were so lovable and their relationship was well developed.
