A Scrap of Silk is book #1 in the Tiggy Jones Mystery Series series by Virginia King.
Tiggy Jones leaves Australia to move to England when she inherits boathouse from her grandmother. There’s a mystery tied to it. Can she figure it out before it is too late?
I am a fan of Virginia King so I was really looking forward to the new series. It did not disappoint! It is hard to describe what I like so much without spoilers. Tiggy, Baxter, and Raider are wonderful characters. There are others too, but it’s part of the intrigue to figure who else is trustworthy. You start reading and you’re on a sometimes emotional, sometimes intense journey not knowing where you’ll end up.

What a great read and start to a new series, I absolutely loved it!
Tiggy Jones, a mystery writer from Australia, has inherited her grandmother's boat house in the U.K. and moved there. Not all her neighbors are happy with this, but despite their sometimes nasty behavior, she decides to hang in there. She has also inherited her grandmother's dog, Raider, who's brought to her by Baxter, a young man on the spectrum. She now has two solid friends!
There's a mystery with her basement; people who seem to want her to sell the property; a mob of men carrying fire torches who seriously threaten her and Raider's lives and hints of dark forces!
I loved Tiggy's relationships with Raider (what a great character, adorable!) and Baxter and can't wait to meet them again ... very soon, I hope?!
Highly recommended!
Move over Selkie Moon. Tiggy Jones has arrived.
Another great mystery series from Virginia King. Plenty of twists and turns with some edge-of-seat reading thrown in. Be careful whom you trust.
