Act 1 was spectacular. What a great story. Read like a movie! Still trying to figure out the real story. Definitely need that act 2 and more soon!
I got this book from NetGalley as a Review Copy against an honest review.
I was little flustered and disappointed by the copy provided that refused to open properly in Kindle or my pdf reader (came without the dialogues) and finally I opened it piecemeal in various apps to get some proper reading pleasure.
The art is black and white with the cover pages in color and its stark lines looks clean, hard-hitting and fabulous. The story is dark and the characters are interesting. The chess men cover looks good but used. Some of the characters are worth investing in and there is a thin laced humor that doesn't overwhelm the story.
The graphic novel stands out with some blunt scenes featuring murders and the B/w accentuates the actions.
Enjoyed reading what I could.
I love having the first set of issues all together in one book! I'm really able to insert myself into the noir, gritty world of Marcus, Hunter, Lorena, Andrea, Linda, and Dennis as their lives further enmesh and entwine. And what a neat cover!
