This was unpredictable. I never saw the plot twist coming - the slow start in the beginning made me feel I was going to DNF this but it actually formed part of the plot so I would encourage readers to give this book a chance! There was also a bit of an education in principles of English law too which I found interesting! Definitely loved the way the story unraveled, although sometimes the back and forth in the timeline was confusing (maybe because of the e-reader) but it did negatively impact my reading experience unfortunately.

Another plus was the exploration of the main characters and the growth and connection between them but without revealing spoilers, about 60% of the way there were questions around ethics that were raised and it was too much on the borderline for me (despite arguably being necessary to the plot, I didnt enjoy that aspect).

Some readers may be affected by sensitive topics discussed in the book so please note the trigger warnings as the book does include themes of sexual harrasment/gaslighting/death/ relationship with a minor. If you want to read a thriller that will keep you on your toes with strong female characters/female rage, pick this up next!

The Woman on the Ledge is a gripping revenge-filled mystery thriller with an unreliable narrator. It will keep you on your toes with the unexpected plot twists. Just as you think you have things figured out Ruth Mancini will pull the rug from right under you.

The story follows Tate Kinsella, a thirty-something struggling actress working an office temp job at a bank in London. Her life takes a dramatic twist after she stops a woman, Helen from jumping to her death at an office Christmas party.

The next day, however, a second suicide attempt seems to have been shockingly successful. But things are not as it seems, and things turn from bad to worse when it appears that the woman who died was not only murdered but is actually the wife of one of Tate’s bosses - a man she is said to be having an affair with, and not Helen. In fact, not a single shred of evidence exists which proves Helen ever existed. When police start to poke holes in Tate’s statements she is quickly named the primary suspect.

Although Tate protests her innocence, all the evidence points to her being the murderer.

There was a fair amount of repetition as Tate backtracks and makes amendments to her accounts, which was somewhat irksome. However, Ruth Mancini manages to deftly weave these alternative accounts into the storyline.

I suspect that there will be a few that find the motive and true plot a bit trite. Personally, I would like to read inspiring stories with strong female characters where the women do not have to endure abuse.

Thanks Netgalley for the ARC.

This was a very unique idea on a thriller. Murder or accident? Who would do such a dreadful thing and why? The twists and red herrings had me changing my mind through every chapter. I really enjoyed this but by the end I felt like something was missing and without spoiling anything I'm not sure about the whole explanation to the solicitor would have worked hence a missing star for 5 stars. It's not the first book I've read lately where people seem to take the word of strangers at face value without question but it may just be my personal preference to have a bit more.

An absolutely brilliant story. It weaves so many different elements into it and I think it’s totally original. You will not see where it’s going but you’ll want to keep reading to see what will happen next. Just bought her other books so that’s me sorted for a couple of weeks!

A superb thriller that I devoured over the course of one day whilst lying on a sun lounger on a Greek beach
Superbly written, grabbed my attention and interest from the first chapter.
My wife read this right after me and shares my opinion on it.

Unfortunately I have not been able to connect with this book and after multiple attempts have had to admit defeat and mark as dnf.

Reading the blurb for this one, I was excited to read it. Unfortunately I found parts of this book confusing and sometimes quite slow and over descriptive. There were some good twists but overall I didn't enjoy it as much as I expected I would. It dealt with some serious and emotional issues so make sure to check the content warnings. I would try to read another of this author's books though. ⭐⭐⭐

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an early copy of this book.

This is an explosive read with so many twists. It opens with a bang and never lets up. I must have changed perspective at least three times as twists were revealed. i'm a huge fan of the author and this is probably the best yet.

What a very clever book and plot twist. The way the story is written has to be unique.
Tate has a past that’s she’s been running away from until a school reunion sets the wheels in motion for revenge. Never underestimate the power of a woman scorned. Totally hooked from page one.

This was quite conflicting read for me! I really enjoyed reading The Woman on the Ledge and found the writing style so interesting as it lured me in so much initially, particularly with the police interviews and initial investigation.

I personally didn’t love the direction the plot went in but was still completely gripped nonetheless.

I feel like this would have been a 4 star read if things were a little more gritty as it did feel as though everything worked out a little too perfectly in the end but all in all this was a fun read!

My thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishers for a copy of “ The Woman On The Ledge “ for an honest review.
I was drawn to read this from the premise and was totally sold on the story for the first half of the book .I thought it was suspenseful and I enjoyed the twists in the plot , but then sadly I felt the book lost its way. Things became too complicated and over the top and I really lost interest .
For me the book had great promise but didn’t work as a whole.

Excellent gripping read that takes you on a journey and flits between the past and present and the story surrounding a woman who falls of a ledge. Great likeable characters and a fast paced plot.

The Woman On The Ledge Ruth Mancini

This is the first book I have read by this author, I hadn't heard of her until I seen some hype about this book online. Count me as a fan already!
I loved this storyline, took a little concentration at times to keep track of the plot, but the whole book comes together so well that you know you have followed it correctly.
I love a strong female lead, especially one with a bit of deviousness!

Loved it

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. The narrative voice was strong, and loved how the story kept changing, evolving as the truth is revealed and the plot delivers. When you think that the story is one thing, but then the truth comes out. And then another!

Brilliant!
