A cleverly written book. The story develops throughout the book as the reader slowly learns the story behind the story. Everything is not always as it seems . Twists and turns along the way but didn’t want to put it down even though at times I was a bit confused who-did-what.
Very good. This started out as quite a traditional mystery and started to twist and turn quickly. I don’t want give anything away but it is definitely worth reading. I enjoyed it a lot.
A gripping story that kept me hooked to the end. Excellent, well formed characters, a unique writing style and clever narrative. Will read more from this author. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.

A great psychological thriller with plenty of twists and turns. Just when you think you’ve worked it out it goes in a completely different direction. I was a little confused a couple of times and had to flip backwards, but it was a very entertaining and absorbing read.
Many thanks to the Author, Publisher and NetGalley for this advance reader copy in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
I had such high hopes for this book and was instantly hooked when I started reading it. Unfortunately the book lost its appeal for me halfway through and I became confused
I didn’t think that the twist was dramatic having guessed the majority of it. I appreciate that the book is fiction but the way that the book came together just didn’t make much sense and was very unrealistic
I did enjoy the writing style and have loved the authors previous work. The book was just a bit too messy for me
A great read, a real gripping page turner with a few twists. I did find that there was some repetition that was disappointing for me.
I thoroughly enjoyed this thriller which initially seemed to be fairly straightforward however like the death in the book appearances can be deceptive.
When the author started to seemingly repeat the initial events I thought that this may be a bit of a chore but was quickly relieved of this notion when it became clear that this was an entirely different set of circumstances. Throw in a hefty bit of back story for more than one character and this take becomes even more intriguing. Definitely a book worth reading as you will no see where this is going for a good while and even when you do it's still an excellent tale.
Thanks to the publisher, NetGalley and the author for my advance review copy.
This is the first book I have read by this author, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. What I got was a brilliant tale of suspense combined with delicate issues such as the exploitation of vulnerability, which I must say, I felt was handled with great sensitivity. The plot itself is both engaging, and complex, and I was gripped by the many twists and turns. The pacing is perfect, and the author has mastered the art of ‘conceal V reveal’. All in all, a well-written and gritty read, which I have no hesitation on recommending.
First time reading this author and what a brilliant book to begin with. Plenty going on throughout the story to get the "little grey cells" moving about with lots of twists and turns and only at the end is the reader privy to everything! It is a great page turner and one that I certainly didn't want to stop reading.
Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC to review.
Thank you NetGalley, the author and publisher for my ARC
This book had me reeling, just when you think you have the answers you are thrown back to the beginning of the story and the version of events in your mind changes again and again. As you can imagine from the title the book is focused on a woman on a ledge and is a story of lies, deceit, age old trauma and loss.
What an excellent story. This is a gripping tale of suspense where everything is not as it seems. A woman has fallen from the 25th floor of a building to her death and you (Tate Kinsella) are suspected of her murder. But the more you protest your innocence, the more holes and inconsistencies appear in your story. What aren’t you telling the police?
The plot is incredibly engaging, and had me intrigued at every twist and turn (and there are many!) as the story gradually unfolds. To say anything about the plot would be to give too much away - you just have to read it and enjoy the ride.
The author straddles the line of reveal vs. conceal perfectly as we gradually find out more about what happened. The pacing is spot on: I was just about getting used to one revelation or twist of the plot when another one came along that made me question everything that I thought up to that point.
There is a particular kind of mystery novel that I *don’t* get on with - those where several equally plausible possibilities are developed by the author, then one is arbitrarily revealed to be the truth at the end (Agatha Christie, I’m looking at you). This book isn’t like that. Throughout the story, there is usually just one version of “what happened”, but that version warps and bends as new information is revealed - and I *really* liked that.
The story deals with some emotive and difficult issues around vulnerability and predatory behaviour, and I thought that it was done with great sensitivity.
This is a plot-driven story, and packs a lot in. Consequently, the character development (especially of the secondary characters) isn’t very deep. But this is a minor quibble, and there is an authenticity about all of the characters; I found some of the scenes towards the end of the book incredibly moving.

Absolutely adored the way Ruth created a captivating plot, which unfurled to deliver a hugely satisfying ending. Set in London, in my neighbourhood, made the story that much more gripping and tense. The characters all lived off the page, and their backstories were woven in beautifully. Brava, Ruth!
Loved this book. I really needed a good WHATS GOING ON book and this was the one. Very twisty and I didn’t see it coming. Excellent.
I've not read any by Ruth Mancini before but I will now! I'm writing this review with very tired eyes after staying away because I couldn't put it down. Highly recommended.
A very clever and highly original idea. I couldn’t put it down.
What is the truth behind the death of a woman who fell to her death from the twenty fifth floor. Was she murdered or did she indeed fall? What involvement did Tate, who says she tried to talk her down, and her friend Helen really have and who, if anyone, is trying to frame who?
If you like a psychological thriller you will love this, I can’t wait to read more from this author.
My interest was piqued by the blub of The Woman on the Ledge. Once I began reading the book I was hooked. It held my interest throughout, even at times when I was confused , but I knew it would be relevant to the plot. As the story revealed happenings, past and present, it was heartbreaking, sad , frustrating and anger for those involved, and the reader also. I can only sum this book up as being different. A 5 star read .
This story was not for me, the plot is full of holes and totally unbelievable, I feel the author was trying too be clever but all I found I was, was confused.
This is a book about friendship and revenge! An amazingly creative plot evolves to show how friends and acquaintances come together to seek justice for acts against them in the past. The driving force is not only for retribution but to prevent similar tragedies happening in the immediate future. The outcome was most satisfactory.
The plot is suitably complex and it is often difficult to actually determine who is a goody and who is a baddy! The premise of whether two wrongs can make a right is also examined. The thought that you cannot necessarily rely on truth and justice to prevail is very realistic!
The “baddy” shows that it is very likely that a leopard will not change its spots! She/He manages to rise and have an incredibly successful career/life while still behaving badly! Badly - of course - is not an adequate word to describe of his/her behaviour and the damage caused.
I must say that I totally enjoyed the book and recommend others to have a read! I will also be looking for more books from this author, Ruth Mancini.

I have seen this book all over bookstagram recently so i was a little worried it wouldn't live up to the hype.... it DID 🤯😍
I kept thinking I knew where the book was going and I was wrong each time. I was on the edge of my seat throughout. I finished this book last week and I am still thinking about it. It was so good that I keep having to put my current read down because I'm still too into the storyline of this one. I loved the unreliable characters and that you never knew who was telling the truth. I haven't read a book quite like it before. Mancini is a legal expert and you can tell! I don't want to say too much about the plot because I like to go into books blind and I think it works really well with this one - If you have any triggers I would suggest researching them before reading this as the book has some dark themes.
I would recommend to any thriller fan.
This is the first book I have read by the author and I am excited to read more in the near future.

Oh wow, this had me gripped. It's not one for starting just before bed as you're going to want to keep turning the pages. A really clever thriller.
