When Tate is arrested for the murder of her bosses wife, a chain of events is set in motion.
What the Police don't realise is that it is a carefully choreographed chain of events, designed to stop a sexual predator in his tracks.
I loved this book. There are so many false accounts until you get the full story from Tate.
A really good read that is very hard to put down.

I believe certain books should have trigger warnings. This book deserves a warning for child grooming and abuse. The content is not graphic but is heavily spoken about.
I can't accuse #TheWomanOnTheLedge of being the same old run-of-the-mill thriller I've read hundreds of times before. It was rather unusual. At first, it starts off at great speed and I thought it was going to be great, just what I ordered. But then, after our main character is arrested for a potential murder, she is released to her solicitor and recounts the true story of what had led up to the night before, which was a completely different story from what we had read in the first few chapters.

This was initially quite confusing because I didn't know what was true and what she was making up, and why. Eventually, it all kind of began to come clear, but throughout, we are often presented with a series of events believing them to be true, only for them to be retold again differently. I feel that this should have worked amazingly, but something didn't quite click. I do wonder if this was a TV mini-series if it would show better on screen as I didn't enjoy the concept.

I felt that the overall outcome was very sad, without giving anything away. There was definitely no happy ending, and so many people were damaged which was truly heartbreaking. I would rate it 3.5 stars with the potential of 4 stars. Thank you #NetGalley."

I read this book as part of my online book club December read.
I hadn't read any Mancini books prior to this, but I saw this book getting rave reviews so decided to participate this month.
This book is very fast paced, you think you know where it's going but Mancini keeps you on your toes throughout. It's a complex read because of this, and there's lots to keep track of but I followed it well.
It's a stonker of a story, and I imagine the amount of plot holes was a nightmare for the author!
I will happily read more of this author, she is on my radar for sure!

I’d like to thank Random House UK, Cornerstone and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘The Woman On The Ledge’ written by Ruth Mancini in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

The police charge into the home of Tate Kinsella and arrest her on suspicion of murder. As Tate talks to her solicitor Sarah she gives her a true account of the night a woman fell to her death from a ledge on floor 25 of a London office block, although her version of what happened may not agree with what the police believe to be the truth.

The beginning of ‘The Woman on the Ledge’ grabbed my attention but although well-written with a plot that was different to the normal crime thrillers, it didn’t have the suspense I’d expected and there was a distinct lack of tension. The story slowed down as the main character conversed with her solicitor and was interviewed by the police and I lost interest in the characters and the plot. From reading the reviews this legal/crime thriller has a good number of five stars so I’m disappointed I haven’t enjoyed it and apologise to the author that I couldn’t give similar feedback as I can only imagine how much time and effort goes into writing a novel. I’m going to return to it in the near future when my mind frame is in a better place and hopefully get more involved.

A woman falls to her death and Tate is arrested for her murder despite believing she had talked her down when she met her for the first time last night. All signs point to Tate being framed. Who is doing this and why?

I’m not going to lie, I was so close to DNFing this. I persevered and by the 1/3 mark, the story does get some excitement!

Despite becoming more exciting, I did find the story just OTT and a bit ridiculous. I can’t say much more without spoiling anything!

The book started really well but started getting a bit confusing in the middle where I felt my kindle was repeating pages and then it all tied up quite nicely at the end. There were a few points that did not add up for me but it was an enjoyable read.

A woman falls to her death from an office building’s roof terrace. Another woman, Tate Kinsella, a temporary member of staff working in that building, is arrested for her murder. The investigation that follows is full of twists and turns which take the reader in a whole range of different directions that are difficult to predict. With a cast of unreliable witnesses and hidden agendas, this is a very cleverly plotted psychological mystery that keeps you guessing until the very end. Compelling and extremely sharp.

With thanks to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review an advance copy.

I read this book with some members of a book club as Book of the month. I deliberately didn’t read the blurb before I started to read the book as i wanted to go into it with no knowledge of what it was about.

Tate Kinsella was an actress who was working as a temp at a French bank in London. The book starts at the office party with Tate going onto the roof terrace of the building and meeting a woman there who wasn’t in a very good place.

The woman persuades Tate to take her back to the roof terrace a few days later to retrieve something she had lost. That same evening a woman falls off the top of the building - Tate is arrested and is taken into custody.

This book was so good. It was totally full of twists and turns and intrigue and I really didn’t have a clue about what was going to happen. I loved this book and it’s definitely up there with my top books of the year. I loved it.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an advance copy of this book.

I have to be completely honest here and say I hadn’t heard of this author before but when it came up as our BOTM in a book group I’m in and I had read the book blurb I was completely intrigued . Tate Kinsella is working as a temp in a French bank based in London . It’s not the job of her dreams as she really wants to be an actor but she has only had one acting job and she has bills to pay . She goes to an office party and as she steps out on the roof top terrace for a smoke she meets Helen who is going through a tough time . They both chat and Tate listens to Helen and her troubles and even though they’ve only just met Tate is there to be a friend to Helen . However when tragedy strikes and Tate is arrested she has a battle on her hands to prove her innocence .
Holy Moly this is truly one of the best books I’ve read this year . It’s packed full of deceit and lies . There’s so much going on as we progress through this book . Who do we believe and trust ? The Woman on the Ledge is an absolute gem of a psychological thriller and one that will have you turning the pages frantically to reach the final outcome .

The Women on the Ledge by Ruth Mancini is a very clever psychological thriller, with many unexpected twists and turns.
A woman falls to her death and you are arrested for her murder, no-one believes you only met her the night before and you had talked her down from jumping off the roof but she returns the next day and apparently jumps off the roof.
A fascinating storyline with many hidden depths to the storyline and only clarified t the end.
Highly recommended

An unusual plot that kept me guessing until the end. I won’t repeat the blurb that has already been described. Suffice to say the plot was well executed and the characters quite likeable. A fast paced novel compared to many I have recently read. I will definitely be reading more from this author. Thanks to Netgalley for ARC.

What an absolute banger!! This is hands down on of the best books I've read this year. As twisty as they come, this book kept me guessing right until the last page. It's shocking, exciting, and the epitome of the phrase 'revenge is a dish best served cold.' Utterly brilliant.

This book has a dramatic opening as Tate finds herself being arrested for murder after her work Christmas party. Her solicitor thinks her story doesn’t add up, what is Tate hiding?

I found this book an easy read and it held my interest, despite a bit of a slow start. The second half definitely picks up and is more gripping. I felt sorry for Tate initially, but it took me a while to connect with the characters and it wasn’t until towards the end that I found I got more of a sense of their true nature.

Just when you think you have it sussed you find out that it’s not as simple as it seems and there are a few twists. I found some parts a little predictable and at times implausible but I thought the plot was a bit different to the usual thriller.

The book deals with themes such as sexual assault and terminal illness, and I thought this was dealt with sensitively.

The chapters are quite short and shift from the point of view of different characters and timelines. At times I found this confusing.

Overall, I liked the book and it was worth a read. I would read more from this author.
The book is published on 4th January 2024. I received an advance copy in exchange for a review. Thanks to Random House UK, Cornerstone, and NetGalley.

3.5 stars rounded to 3.

My first book by this author but definitely not my last, what a great read!
You think you know what is happening and then you find out more information that turns it all around. Such a clever storyline, I really didn't want to put this book down, it was a real page turner.

If there is going to be a must read book for January 2024, if not for the whole year, then it surely has to be The Woman on the Ledge by Ruth Mancini!
This book enticed me in with an intriguing blurb which made me need to know what had happened, why and what secrets were being kept. Reading the book however completely exceeded any assumptions I made from that and the early chapters.
This is an amazing, medium/fast paced crime/family drama/thriller which will have you cheering on some of the very interesting characters we meet along the journey while empathising with others and hoping for some to receive the ending they deserve!
I cannot tell you anything about the story I read, only that you will not see the twisty bit coming and once it has, you will not be able to put this down again until the last page is turned! I believe this is one of the best books I have ever read and I have read an awful lot over the years. If you enjoy a good story this IS the book for you!

This is an unforgettable story of hidden truths, twists, turns, subterfuge, and dark secrets.. I honestly think adding more than is on the blurb would give massive spoilers. But this is a really clever intriguing story which I have read over a month ago, and which I keep revisiting in my mind.
Thanks to #NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book ahead of publication and exchange for an honest review.
This is a compelling read!

Amazing, amazing, amazing! Psychological thrillers don’t get better than this!

Out of work actor Tate’s life is at a dead end when she finds a woman contemplating jumping from the roof at the office Christmas party. She talks her down, but the next night, the jump happens and Tate is arrested for the woman’s murder, which she is fully expecting and prepared for, whilst proclaiming her innocence…. Interesting 🤔

Tate’s version of events has more holes in it than a tray of Krispy Kreme, but then she tells her solicitor everything and OMG! WHAT A PLOT! The timeline switches back and forth between the present day and back to when Tate was a teenager and as each layer of the story is revealed, the jaw-dropping twists just keep on coming.

Fantastic characterisation, fast pace, unsettling vibes and totally gripping from the start, this book had my brain twisting and turning on a rollercoaster ride as I discovered that nothing is what it seems!

An absolute 5 ⭐️ and more if I could! Thanks to Netgalley, Ruth Mancini and Random House Cornerstone for an ARC in return for an honest review.
