A sweet story about Shia and Rose to join in the oceana fun.
I enjoyed this book very quick paced with some laughs along the way and trauma aswell.
Nice to meet Shia properly in this book and find out more about her. Also was good to have the previous characters from the 1st one too playing a role. All in all a good read. Thanks for advanced copy looking forward to next.

Shia Turning is an up-and-coming surfer pro that spent much of her life in the foster system. She knows about working hard toward her dreams. Rose Monroe is the granddaughter of the mobile home community where Shia lives, and is taking over the job as property manager for her aging grandfather.

I liked the built-up tension between Rose and Shia from the beginning, but the pacing of the relationship felt a little 'off' to me. It felt like all lust, which was okay, but then for them both to be catching feelings when they have barely had a conversation just felt unrealistic. I had higher hopes for this one. For me, I wanted to like it, but it was just okay.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced digital reader's copy (ARC) in exchange for an honest review!

The second book in the Oceana series. Oceana is a Mobile Home Park that the owner set up to help people get a new chance in their lives. He uses his almost ESP gift to know who should live in the beach front park. His gift is handed down to his daughter (Gem) and now his granddaughter Rose Monroe. Rose has taken over as property manager for the park and is beginning to realize her empathetic gift.

I already met Shia Turning in the previous book, Tides of Love (Feb 2023). Shia is a working her way up in the world of professional surfing. She ended up in foster care after the death of her grandmother who was raising her. She has always been self reliant and has given up ideas of having a relationship to focus solely on her career.

Rose is already half smitten with Shia before they actually talk. And when they do officially meet they accept their instant attraction and act on it. They get together early and often with a mix of off and on the page action. But navigating lust into a relationship has pitfalls, especially when Shia has trust issues. There is some outside interference as well and I’m not sure everything is resolved when the story wraps.

This book can be read on its own but I think I liked it more and rated it higher having already been introduced to Oceana previously. I like that the previous couple are part of the story and it seems to take place just a few months after their book ends. The sweet spot refers to surfing the perfect spot in a wave. Thank you to NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books for the ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.

This book just didn’t work for me. There was very little character building and build-up before the first sex scene. All of a sudden they’re in bed and I have no idea why or that they even liked each other that much. This was a DNF at about 20%

Hold on for this one, it is HOT and STEAMY. Shia is a surfer trying to live her best life when she meets Rose. Their attraction is almost instant.
They each have things in their past they come roaring up especially Shia.
She’s about to have her board pulled out from under her with news she never expected to hear.
These two are going to have to lean on each other to make it through.
You’ll enjoy this one.

First book by this author and it was an enjoyable read. I liked the premise and the writing, but hated the ending was so abrupt.

Shia Turning is an up and coming surfer who was in foster care and is making a name for herself, but she wants no distractions until Rose comes along and changes everything. Shia is resistant and insists on casual which Rose agrees to.

Rose Monroe is the new property manager of Oceana where Shia happens to live. She wants to do well and doesn't have time for distractions either, but Shia and Rose have explosive chemistry that ignites on her first meet. They navigate it pretty well, but there are a few surprises. One I was expecting, the other I wasn't.

Good writing with good depth to the characters, but I still found it lacking. There were a lot of unanswered questions at the end of the book which i didn't like. Overall, I would read another book by this author, but not sure I would recommend this one.

I received an ARC from Netgalley for an honest review.

Sweet spot starts with a bang. Literally. But as their no fuss friendship grows so do Shia and Rose. When Shia’s past comes knocking- again, literally- Rose is there to provide support. A well written story that makes one want to lear how to surf.

This book made me crave the ocean. The characters in this novel, like the book, are deep, complicated and ever changing. I really loved Shia - her development, her determination and drive, it was honest and understandable. Her past and attempting to overcome it and not run from it was relatable. Rose is a rock of a character, a grounding presence that everyone craves in their lives and seeing her on paper and seeing her set such a foundation for the characters was brilliant to read. Overall I really enjoyed this book and I now want to take up surfing.
