This book started off really well with Allie and her mom discussing her dad's last wish and his obsession with the family heritage. A big part of the first quarter of the book is about this. But once Allie fullfilled his wish, it was only once mentioned in passing. I was a bit disapointed by this.

Allie and Kate have an insta love. They are instantly attracted to each other and don't seem to need a lot of built up to be madly in love. Maybe that's why I wasn't sure if I was into their pairing.

There were a lot of topics in the book but some felt glossed over pretty quickly while I wished there was more of it in the book.

An ARC was sent to me via Netgalley in return of an honest review.

I enjoyed this book. It was a really quick read but it fed into my love of travel and escaping! I quite like both MC but my favorite was the cook - I felt most for her in the story. I felt like the book moved really quickly, there could have been more fleshing it out maybe but overall a fun read and I would like to visit the island!

It was an okay read, nothing special, not really catching. I didn't feel the connection between both MCs and it felt pretty shallow overall.
Thanks for NetGalley for providing me with an Arc in exchange for my honest review.

This book revolves around Suzanne and Allie.
Suzanne buys an island and builds a resort. She changes her name so the paparazzi leaves her alone. All is going as planned until her partner dies. She withdraws from everyone. That is until Allie stays at the resort. Suzanne is drawn to her. Allie has an ulterior motive for staying there. A plus - there is a pig that steals things in the book!
I would recommend.

Thanks to Bold Strokes Books and Netgalley for this copy

This book brings together Allie Aukai and Suzanne Bennett (aka Kate Williams), two very different people who probably would never have crossed paths had it not been for Allie's father's last wish. They are both dealing with their own grief, Allie with a father that she loved but didn't like, and Kate is still mourning her lover who had passed years before. The two women are flawed, past issues creating obstacles for them, but the sparks between them cannot be denied.

The cast of this book was extremely diverse and absolutely lovable, from Kate's right hand woman Carla, to Allie's best friend Reba, to the cantankerous cook Mila who is the resort's grandma that won't hesitate to wack anyone with a wooden spoon if they cross her. They fleshed out this paradise and interacted well with the two MCs, supporting and prodding in equal measure to make sure they are happy.

Also Gizmo is the most adorable pig. She deserves all the apples.

Overall this was a really great read, finished it in only a few days. Highly recommend it for someone looking for a light story, even with the talk of grief, depression, and addiction, it doesn't bog you down at all.

NetGalley review -
This was just… fine I guess. There was nothing offensive about it but it was also pretty forgettable. I didn’t find the characters very likable or endearing. It was also sort of creepy in a way that Kate kept “talking” to her dead wife. I get it but still found it to be off putting. Also they hooked up, apparently fell in love and broke up all in less than 24 hours. I get that things can move fast but that was a little too much.
Not a bad book but not for me.

I enjoyed reading this book. I haven't read anything from Toni Logan before and enjoyed this title. I don't know much about diving so it was nice to read a little about that. Thanks Netgalley for the early read..

This was not my favorite. The author did a pretty good job with the story, it was pretty sweet and spicy, but it just wasn't for me. I look forward for her next book as I've enjoyed her previous work. 3.5 stars.

Thank You NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books for this ARC copy.

Good story, a it of the paranormal in this story with all the ghosts floating around. Kate and Allie are great main characters and their relationship is was equal parts cute and funny. There's some drama in this story and the addition of a thieving pig named Gizmo was so much fun to read. The supporting characters were well developed and helped to keep this story on track. I liked that this was also about found friends and family as well. I would definitely recommend this book and author, and I look forward to what's next from this author.

This was a nice and easy summer read, which was was very enjoyable whilst on the beach. However, for some reason I couldn't connect with the characters very well. I think I would have bought more the story if Allie was close to her father so it would have make more sense to travel all that way, and not just to please her mother, even if the reason was crazy. And couldn't understand all conversations Kate had with her dead partner, they were far too detailed.
Loved all secondary characters though, especially the pig!

I was not a fan of this book or the author’s writing style. It seemed like there was an info dump in the beginning but I felt no connection with the characters or that they had a connection with each other. Honestly I felt I knew more about the dead wife than the characters knew about each other. I gave up and DNF not very far in

My main like here was the setting. I was hoping for some tropical escapism and you do get that with this story. The island is a central feature, as is the diving and meeting an attractive stranger. The women working at the resort are kind of interesting and the romance works ok, but it doesn’t really sizzle. It’s sad in places, but even the grief feels a bit muted. It’s ok, but probably a bit unexpected that my favourite character in the book is the shark and he isn’t really in it enough.

Toni Logan knows how to tell a story you will have a hard time putting away. The super rich Kate Williams/ Suzanne Bennett owns a private island in the Bahamas that she and her late wife turned into a small women's only resort. When Kate first came to the island the main purpose was getting away from LA, away from her family and the press who hound her every move. Meeting Brooke, marrying her has opened a new way of living. One without the drinking, drugs and partying. Now she’s living alone and lonely, her beloved Brooke gone.
For Allie Aukai life wasn’t one of luxury but lots of work. Her father owned a small diner that wasn’t doing good for a while now but when he died Allie thought she might be able to turn the restaurant into a winner. dress up the place, make some changes to the menu but now it’s her mother stopping her plans from taking root. When her mom asks her to take her fathers ashes to a place in the Bahama’s to bury her father's ashes she at first declines but her mother determines she does as she asked.
Ms Logan has done a really nice job putting together a romance that is a fun, fast paced read, with interesting characters. A very, very nice read.

While I wasn’t blown away by this book, it was still enjoyable to read. Things I enjoyed- Each of the main characters had their own unique backstories that both contrast and compliment one another, loss and grief were shown in respectful ways, and though much transpired I was smiling at the end. Things I didn’t enjoy— There were parts that felt like an info dump and it was hard to immerse myself and the pacing wasn’t consistent and by the end I felt like I was racing to keep up.
Overall, I did still enjoy myself.

The cover is my summer dreams. The story is fine. There are just a few things that weren't my thing, because Brooke's voice was not just weird enough. I feel like the story with Brooke and Suzanne was more intriguing than with Allie. That little throwback on how Suzanne turned her life around was what piqued my interest because that was so major for her.

I liked the ending because I really thought Suzanne was never going to leave that resort. I liked her character because of her past. Allie's past was kind of sad, but that's a common girl's past. The difference between the two pasts was really something.

A quick read about family and grief. A daughter must fulfill her father's dying wish is to be buried at sea. A woman, still grieving the loss of her partner, trying to find the strength to open her heart once more. I had issues with the pacing. The plot felt rushed and the romance was so sudden it felt forced.

A sweet and spicy story about grief and family - natural and found.

Allie's dad's dying wish is to be buried at sea, at very specific coordinates in the Bahamas. Kate owns the all-women resort Allie stays in. Kate is still grieving the death of her partner, but she can't deny the attraction to Allie, even if Kate is convinced Allie is a treasure hunter.

I'm a big fan of found family, and this story has that in spades. From Allie's best friend to Kate's crew at the resort, it's all super sweet. I think the "I love you" came a little fast, but it's a short book. Also loved the klepto pig!

Allie's mission to carry out the last dying wish of her father is juggled between it being a hinderance, and a moment of elation that might just set her free.

I really enjoyed the pace of the story, the introductions of the various characters and their contrastive personalities. It shows a colourful pallet by the author and in my opinion always ends up a good read.
A beautiful paradisaic island getaway ran by an ex LA celebrity in hiding is not the normal go to base for sapphic books, and I loved it! The portrayal of torment that Suzanne goes through while fighting her demons is flawlessly written. and the underdog of the story is hands down the Klepto pig Gizmo!
My only slight flaw is how the pace ramped up at the end, tied up with an epilogue as if it was abrupt and the author was running out of pages. I think that could have been a bit less formulaic and had a bit more story in there. But other then this it was an enjoyable read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books for the ARC (My first ever one so really...THANK YOU!) and I am leaving a voluntary review.

This was a really interesting idea for a romance story and I enjoyed it. Allie is on a mission to bury her fathers ashes off the coast of a remote island where Kate is running an all female resort and trying to cope after the loss of her wife. This story is set up to be filled with emotional scenes and although they are to a degree, there is just something missing for me. Perhaps it’s because much of the story is described to me rather than feeling it through the characters conversations with each other.

This is the second story in a row where there is a third person in the romance, the voice of a deceased partner. I am not sure how comfortable I feel about that either. At times it takes away from the romance of the main characters and makes me wonder if the romance should be happening at all. If you like a fairytale type romance, where a woman is swept off her feet by a rich woman, then this easy read tropical paradise romance is for you.
