This book sounded just my sort of read but sadly I didn't connect with it. Very slow going and just didn't hold my interest

I didn't realise that this story had it's roots set in true events that took place in 1930's Stockholm. Firstly I really like that this is based on real events and I found that to e really interesting but sadly I couldn't connect with the book, I felt like the pacing was too slow and I didn't feel the need to keep reading. I do feel like their is an audience out there for this but sadly it wasn't for me

I had high hopes for this one! I just felt like it didn’t deliver for me but I can see other people enjoying this! I wanted the pace to be faster than it was but that’s a me thing.

Just didn’t hit the mark for me unfortunately. I didn’t like the writing style at all. Quite disappointing as I was looking forward to this.

Going into this I hadn't heard of the true story that this was based on.
This is an uncomfortable read. I felt sick throughout. There's no words to describe this other than sickening.
The writing sadly let this down. While there was potential I found the writing messy and the editing weak.

I did not finish this book. The writing was clumsy - I wondered if it was the author’s second language or is it a poor translation. We know right from the start that Lina is unwell and we see how she and her family deal with it. I just could not get into the story.

Such a unique book, I loved the plot, and oh my god the characters we're so amazing!! I definitely will be recommending it!!

This was really weird. I kind of liked it and I also kind of didn’t. I’m not sure the word romance should be allowed anywhere near this book even in a tongue in cheek way since this is a depiction of obsession. It’s definitely horror of the gross out body horror variety and some of the stuff here is genuinely unpleasant. Which I can handle but I’m not sure it actually challenged me to rethink in any way, I think the disgust was the point. So I am probably not the best person to review this because I’m in a state of ambivalence. It was interesting and it will stay with me.

This just didn't work for me.
I felt non of the obsession/passion in the first part of the book.
From there, once we have a corpse being stolen, it just seemed a bit silly to me.
I finished it, which is in its favour, but it's not a book I'd be recommending to others.
