Protecting Rebel, is a great childhood best friends become lovers. Rebel needs saving and Weston is there to help at every turn. The fact that stardom hasn't gone to Rebel's head is awesome. I also liked that Weston is a wealthy man so they are on kinda the same footing.

Easy to read and just a nicely written book. Would recommend to others that have interest in romance genre for sure!

Both characters are very much likeable, their relationship has a history and I liked how the author painted a picture of their childhood first and then went on to create their journey together.

I loved this cute romance. It's a quick read with excellent characters and storyline.

Weston and Rebel grew up as neighbors and spent as much time as they could together. Rebel's mom wasn't the most attentive and had many boyfriends so Rebel hung our with Weston and his Aunt Margaret.

At the end of high school they both went in different directions but kept in touch. Rebel wanted to become a singer and Weston a Marine.

Follow them in their journeys by reading this cute book. A quick read.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Protecting Rebel (Red Stone Security Series Book 21) by Katie Reus
I enjoyed these best friends to lovers' book. Weston and Rebel have been best friends since childhood, and they have always loved each other. He is a self-made millionaire, and she is a famous singer. She is back home in Miami to do some concerts and there are threats and danger. Weston steps in to protect her. There are old and new friends, angst, some evil, laughs, tears and steam all to get us to their very HEA. Katie Reus never disappoints!
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Tear-jerker Steamy Scary Easy-to-read Wonderful characters Romantic Happily Ever After Great world building Witty Action-packed Page-turner Entertaining Unpredictable.

Really good book. Rebel and Weston had been neighbors and friends for a very long time. She used to go to their house to hide from her mother's boyfriends. Even after she got famous singing and he was in the service, they never lost touch. I think they always loved each other but never admitted it to each other. When accidents start happening on her tour, he took over her security and they finally admitted they loved each other. The person behind the accidents was a surprise, but he took care of it. I loved how she went from no family except Weston and his aunt to a large family of friends and finally two dogs. She was very happy. This series is well worth reading. I'm collecting the ones I don't have now

Genuine fun from beginning to end! Long time friends each pining away, finding themselves, only to again find each other - done so well you can feel it. The feels intertwined with a staler mystery come together for a strong storyline, never cheesy. A great read anytime.

I loved this book. It has all the feels. Lots of suspense. I enjoyed trying to figure out who was trying to kill Rebel. Rebel is such a sweetheart and Weston is a growly alpha. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

Rebel had dreams, of wanting a family, friends and maybe in singing. Weston a childhood friend, maybe more in time, and his aunt. Who gave Rebel the security of her home and encouragement to follow this dream. A beautiful story of how she came into believing in herself and her talents. Dreams that came as she opened to others and being loved and excepted by others. A series that I enjoy reading and this is book 21
Given arc. by Net Galley and KR Press for my voluntary review and honest opinion.

Rebel and Weston have been friends since they were children. Weston and his aunt provided a refuge for Rebel during her childhood. Now Rebel, a successful singer, is back in town for a concert and the funeral of Weston’s Aunt and Weston sees an opportunity to let her know how he feels. There is a complication, someone is targeting Rebel and Weston makes it his priority to protect her. This book has a great cast of characters, a romance along with a mystery. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

I'm not particularly a fan of rock star romance, but I'm a big fan of Katie Reus and a huge one of the friends-to-lovers trope. Throw in romantic suspense, and picking up this novel was a no brainer. And for the most part, I liked it. Reus writes exceedingly well, so even when a plot doesn't fully do it for me, it's still a pleasure to read her books.

I think the kicker for me with friends-to-lovers is that the transition from one to the other has to hit all the right notes. When you've known someone as long as Rebel and Weston have, and you've been there for each other through all kinds of stuff, the first kiss and first intimacy need to be filled with wonder, like a sigh of, "there we are." Rebel and Weston show promise with the first brush of a kiss he gives her, but then suddenly—without any real dialog between them—they move straight into sexting. Considering neither knew of the other's feelings, there was a great opportunity for connecting that was missed.

Otherwise, the suspense part is okay, even if the villain is easy to figure out. Reus does a good job offering up a few potential suspects, though motive and opportunity could be better explained.

Fans of this extensive series will enjoy seeing a few familiar faces, even if the connection with Red Stone Security is more tangential than not, and a few teasing lines here and there promise more books are coming soon.

I received an ARC of this book for free from the publisher and Netgalley. I'm writing this review voluntarily, and it reflects my honest opinion. Thanks!

Rebel and Weston have been best friends since they were kids. Rebel had a rough home life and spent most of her time at Weston's with him and his aunt, who raised him. When they graduate high school, Weston goes into the Marines. Rebel has always loved performing and gets a singing contract.
Now years later, Weston has made millions with a few friends on a security app. Rebel is ending her tour at their hometown and plans to stay for awhile. She's bought a house in an exclusive neighborhood and wants to rest for awhile.
When an accident happens on stage and a railing falls where Rebel was standing, Weston decides that he is sticking to her like glue, which is no hardship for him. Then he reads the emails and comments she has been getting and gets her to hire Red Stone Security and add an extra bodyguard. Weston is trying to find out who is threatening Rebel but will it be too late?

Best friends to lovers. Sex. Suspense. Action. Crazy stalker. A hero that is the love of her life but has trouble believing he will stick around when no one else has for her. He will do anything to get the woman of his dreams.

This is a fantastic read! I couldn't put it down and ended up staying up way too late finishing. I loved the characters and their story drew me in and made me care about them and feel invested in their getting a HEA ending.

Sexy, engaging, and suspenseful, I LOVED this book - if I could give it more than five stars, I would. If you enjoy the genre, this is a must read. While part of a series, this is a stand alone novel, however, it's so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. The author is on my must read authors' list.
