A fun story for developing readers who are working on building their fluency and stamina. This is a vey child-friendly mystery in which the school pranksters are accused of causing trouble in the reception classroom. Determined to prove their innocence, they have 1 playtime to find out the true culprit by investigating the crime scene, interviewing witnesses and identifying other suspects. Will they solve the mystery in time? And will it teach them that playing pranks is not as innocent as it first seems?
The illustrations are bright and eye-catching and the child-friendly language makes this very accessible for primary aged children. As users of the Little Wandle scheme, I will certainly be recommending we adopt these books to develop reading fluency amongst our pupils.
I enjoyed reading this and can see how it will appeal to the children in my class. The story is engaging and the illustrations are lovely.
This is a cute story about four children at school who love playing pranks. The illustrations are adorable too.
Lily, Krish, Nazreen and Harry love joking around so much, that whenever anything peculiar happens, they are the first to be suspected of being involved.
And their teachers are understandably wary (not to mention, weary) of their relentless shenanigans.
So when one of the teachers comes in to find the reception area trashed one morning, she is understandably convinced that the fun-loving foursome have something to do with it. Now, the only way they can prove their innocence is by finding the culprit themselves!
The story will easily engage readers belonging to the target group. The tale of mystery is humorously described. The diversity of the characters is very appealing, as is the differentiation in their personalities e.g. bossyboots Nazreen versus incorrigible prankster Krish. Finally, there are some fun exercises and extra information at the end of the book which young readers will enjoy.
