The Lonely Ghost is a children's book about feeling sad, lonely and down.
This was a great book to read and my children thoroughly enjoyed listening to me read it to them.
Perfect for Halloween or just when your child is feeling sad.
This tale follows a ghost who, like all of us, yearns for friendship and connection. The charmingly simple yet engaging illustrations draw readers into the ghost's world, where loneliness is replaced by the warmth of newfound companionship. I was touched by how the story teaches kids the importance of embracing diversity and showing kindness, all while keeping the atmosphere light and fun.
A wonderful children's book that beautifully conveys the importance of friendship and acceptance. The story revolves around a friendly ghost who learns that differences don't matter when it comes to forming meaningful connections. The book's colorful illustrations and relatable characters capture the attention of young readers, while the message of inclusivity resonates on a deeper level. This charming tale teaches children that it's okay to be unique and that kindness triumphs over differences
Thank you so much to BTW LLC and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.
A little ghost is lonely and has been for a while, then one Halloween night he sees three children all dressed up. He listens in and watches as they play and talk and wishes to join in, but is shy. Then they notice him and invite him to play.
This was really sweet I loved that he found three children that weren’t scared of him and that wanted to be his friend, he was sad and lonely and watching as everyone had fun, then he got to be part of it all. It’s a really sweet story with cute illustrations throughout I loved the ghost he was adorable.
This is a perfect picture book for Halloween time, with a ghost and the slight spookiness of it. I think that children would really enjoyed reading it during the season. It also teaches kindness too which is always an important thing to teach children.
This is such a cute book! Perfect for Halloween - touches on friendship, the importance of being yourself and not judging others on their appearances, and a little bit of social bravery. The illustrations are very simple, but very cute as well - an engaging quick read.
This is about a child who isolates himself in the graveyard after he becomes a ghost, feeling lost and lonely, and convinced no-one will want to play with him now.
On Halloween night, 3 other children arrive at the graveyard dressed as a vampire, a witch and a pumpkin. As they're telling spooky stories, the ghost child listen longingly.
To his surprise, they invite him to join them, which he gladly does. And even though Halloween is only for one night, they make plans to play the next day, because friendship is for every day.
This tale offers a good idea, with very cute illustrations. But the rhyming text was uneven, which was a little annoying, and the storytelling felt lacking in logic. Better poetry and a bit of editorial tightening of the logic of the storyline would go a long way to improving what is fundamentally a sound story and could have taken it upto three and a half stars.
The Lonely Ghost is a sweet little story about friendship. My little one loved the cute little “spooky” characters and the colorful illustrations. The Lonely Ghost teaches about inclusion and kindness in a way that little ones will understand. “It’s ok to be different” is a great lesson!
