I love reading the Alex cross books, this one had a lot going on, different crimes being investigated by Alex, Brie. It was nice to see the whole family involved one way or another. Another strong cross book to add to the collection, it doesn't matter if you miss a few you can still pick up the story as they are all different, to get the best out of all the characters I would go back to the very start.

I have read all the Alex Cross books and like all the others this is a great un put downable story, which after Alex ends up shot and for most of the story is in the ICU unit. This puts John Sampson centre stage to avenge Alex and bring the culprits to justice. As usual this is a very fast paced story with John moving from one crises to another to ensure justice is done. A highly recommended read, looking forward to the next story.

Well plotted with threads from various separate investigations intertwining which allowed for the distribution of various red herrings along the way.
Packed with action and with a mix of family humour - Ali is a card and Nana Mama #s strength is the mainstay of the Cross household - this is a quick and easy read.
However, for me, the Muslim terrorist trope was a little too predictable and is too often used. It made me feel uncomfortable and thus the 3*

#AlexCrossMustDie #NetGalley I love James Patterson books and the Alex Cross series is one of my favourites! Book 31 in the series but still as fresh and edgy as book 1! Can be read as a stand alone but you really NEED to read the others in this series! Lots of action with both Alex and Bree involved in 2 different story lines so 4 plots and numerous twists and turns to keep the readers interest. Also great to see Nana Mamma doing more than just cooking up amazing meals! The title of the book is a bit of a red herring though and did confuse me a bit but a tantalising mention of the Maestro towards the end likely sets the scene for future books. A great 5 star read and I eagerly await book 32 in the series.

Alex Cross Must Die by James Patterson is a 5 ⭐️ read.
Another amazing story by the master of all crime thrillers.

In the latest Alex Cross novel by James Patterson, Alex is tasked with solving two crimes, a serial killer who shoots out his victim's eyes and a terrorist attack on a plane that may just be the start of a series of attacks. The plot is full of red herrings which sent me the wrong way several times and kept me guessing to the end. As with all of Patterson's books this is a real page turner, short cliff hanger chapters and a fast-paced plot just keeps you reading on to the end. Alongside this, Alex's wife, Bree Stone investigates the murder of a young female athlete so you get three mysteries to solve in one. One of the best Patterson's I have read for a while.

Number thirty one in the Alex Cross series. Yes you read that right, if this is your first Alex Cross novel you have another thirty great reads to come. And they are great reads; you don’t get to write that many books in a series without them gripping the reader’s attention.
In this latest offering Alex and his erstwhile partner John Sampson are caught up in two very different investigations, one is a seemingly terror related atrocity and the other is a series of ritual killings. Time is of the essence, they must solve both cases before the perpetrators strike again.
I’m already looking forward to the next instalment and the new series on Prime.

Have been a big fan of the Alex Cross series of books for years, I like the way James Patterson writes and also the short chapters.

I found this book had an awful lot going on, quite a few different threads, so it jumped about quite a bit, I sometimes had to stop and think who was dealing with what crime!

You had the death of the CEO, which Bree was looking into, also the death of her stepdaughter's friend. Alex was dealing with a plane being brought down by a missile, there are quite a few red herrings as always

A good read, fast paced, but too much happening.

Also the title had absolutely nothing to do with the book, which caused confusion?

Another action packed story from James Patterson, which grabs you from the start. With Alex and his wife working on different crimes, she solves hers and Alex with the help of his son , eventually brings the perpetrator to justice. Very tense conclusion which I couldn't read fast enough!!

There are two cases to solve and a race against time... Bree Alex's wife has her own investigation into the disappearance of her boss's best friend...
A great action-packed read, with lots of twists and turns.
James Patterson is the king of crime and another brilliant book with five stars

James Patterson never disappoints! Alex Cross and John Sampson are back with a vengeance. The Dead Hours Killer is stalking and murdering victims, a terrorist has shot a passenger plane down causing numerous fatalities and Bree is on the trail of a missing person. As ever, multiple crimes are skilfully and intricately woven together to create a tense, nail-biting story. This is a must read!

Alex Cross and John Sampson are investigating the "Dead Hours Killer" seemingly unconnected men are being killed in a brutal way.
Meanwhile, a terrorist attack on an aircraft out of Reagan National Airport pulls them in another direction, leaving them in a race against time to prevent further tragedy.

Patterson at his best!

I would like to thank ? Publishing and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book

It has been several years since I read an Alex Cross book but they were always a favourite so I was delighted to get this ARC.

The book has three strands - the bringing down of a plane killing all its passengers, the disappearance of a CEO and the murders of several men by a killer who shoots our both eyes.

Bree is dealing with the missing CEO which then morphs into a different case entirely. Alex and Sampson are on the trail of the man they're calling the Dead Hours Killer when they are set to work trying to find whoever blasted a plane out of the sky and why.

As always Patterson keeps the action fast-paced and introspection to a minimum. There are appearances by Nana Mama, Jannie and Ali who are, as usual, making Alex's busy life bearable.

I liked both the CEO and Dead Hours parts of the story but the story involving the plane devolved, for me, several times into farce. At times, the perpetrator was just one fluffy white cat away from Bond Villain.

That aside I enjoyed the book. Patterson rarely lets you down but I'd have preferred two (or even three) different books for the 3 strands. It felt a little two busy at times. Otherwise its great. If you're a Cross or Patterson fan you'll love it. If not it's still very much worth a read.

Thanks to Netgalley and Random House for the advance review copy.

Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Any book written with James Patterson's name on it is an absolute must read to me. I have read all the Alex Cross books, and this one was just as exciting as the first. Recommended.

Absolutely fantastic. James Paterson never fails to delight. This was a sit down, start reading and don’t stop till the end book. Fabulous.

The continuing series takes Alex and Bree across several crimes through the book. The storylines are well written and leave the reader desperate to continue. A real page turner.

Another page-turner in the Alex Cross series from the James Patterson stable. 'Must Die' revolves around two dramas: trying to find the perpetrator of an attack that brought down an aircraft coming in to land at Reagan National Airport and also tracking down a serial killer.

I don't think fans of the Alex Cross books will be disappointed with this book as it follows the same pattern as the others that I've read in the franchise.

NB I thought the title a bit strange because the Must Die bit relates to another character in the book, not Alex Cross.

Alex Cross book 31.

Alex and his best friend Detective John Sansom are hunting a serial killer dubbed the Dead Hours killer when they receive a call from FBI Agent Ned Mahoney. Drop everything and get to Ronald Reagan airport asap. An American Airlines plane has crashed and machine gun fire was heard seconds before.

Can they find out who would do such an horrific thing and find a gruesome killer?

This was a great book although, this time, I didn't think Bree's investigation brought much to the story. There was too many loose ends for me.

Overall I liked the book and I was hooked on the two main stories. 3.5 stars.
