Thanks first must go to the publisher, James Patterson & Netgalley for the ARC of 12 Months To Live. Once again another brilliant James Patterson read. He always writes such face paced thrillers and this is no exception. I enjoyed the concept and look forward to further.

Well I’m a little bit speechless. What an absolutely brilliant book from the beginning, right up to the end!

Didn't really enjoy 12 months to live. The story was ok but the main character annoyed me and didn't really gel and didn't rate the storyline, which I got a bit bored with about 10% of way in and unfortunately it didn't improve. I didn't enjoy the writers style, so unfortunately not one for me.

If I had 12 months to live, this book wouldn't make it to my list I'm afraid.

I find James Patterson books vary massively depending on who the co-writer is. My favs are Maxine Paetro and Candice Fox and there are many brilliant books, but this series is not one for me.

However a big thanks to Random House UK, Cornerstone, Century for the opportunity.

Picked this up since I'm a huge James Patterson fan and the premise sounded interesting. I was not disappointed. An amazing read that keeps you at the edge of your seat trying to guess what happens next.

Interested to read the future installments. Thank you Random House UK, Cornerstone and NetGalley for this e-arc in exchange of my unbiased review.

Thank you Net Galley for this advance reader copy in exchange for my honest and free review. James Patterson does it again. This is an amazing thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire read. I finished it in one sitting. Hoping there will be future novels with this character as she is awesome! Highly recommend!

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this novel. I have read many of James Patterson's works but this one did not gel for me and I gave up.

I thought this was a bit slow to start, I was probably about a quarter of the way in before I started to get really interested. I liked the main characters and think the authors could probably get another couple of books featuring them. I dod think the plot was a bit simplistic and although it was an enjoyable read it was nothing exciting. And I hated the ending.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book.

#12MonthstoLive #NetGalleyObviously you know you're in for a treat when you read a James Patterson book and this was no exception. I loved the character of Jane - smart, funny, hard as nails but with a soft side that poked through occasionally!! As always the writing is excellent, the story line fast paced and punchy. At the end of the story as Jane embarks on her cancer treatment - I imagine I am not alone in hoping that the treatment is successful and we see more of her and Jimmy ( and Ben and Rip) in a future installment!!

A new series by James Patterson and the first book is called 12 Months to Live. It came out on the 28th of September and I received a copy from Random House UK via NetGalley.

We follow Jane Smith who is a criminal defense attorney. She is preparing to defend a high-profile client accused of a triple homicide. At the same time she's also hired to revive a cold case. Not only that, but she also gets some horrible news: She's got a year to live. It's literally a race against time.

I've read multiple books by James Patterson and I usually like his style and his books a lot. Somehow this book just didn't grab me. It was a decent book, no doubt about that, but I didn't like the way it was written and how the story evolved. I don't know it just didn't speak to me like his books usually do. Not the story, not the characters, not the pace. I'm sounding rather negative right now, but just to make sure, it's not a horrible story or anything - it's just not something for me.

I do have another book by James Patterson in my Netgalley list and I'm looking forward to reading this one. I'm sure it'll be as good as the ones I've read before.

3/5 ⭐

Jane Smith is a tough no-nonsense defence lawyer who is regarded as the best by people in the super rich Hamptons.
She has to represent a client on a triple homicide, and at the same time work on a cold case about a cluster of unsolved murders, and to top things off she has just been given a year to live after a devastating medical diagnosis.
So are fearless heroine has it all to do. Win the trial, solve the cold case, then she can think about herself, but she will have to be quick as enemies are closing in, and her death sentence could be sooner than the 12 months she has left to live.
This the best book this duo have written to date.
It’s punchy, fast paced and totally absorbing.
Everyone is going to love Jane Smith, she is one of the best characters James Patterson has created in a long while.

Now whilst I think this is a decent enough read, I'll admit it's not one of my favourites by JP. I'm not sure whether it's the co-author but this just didn't personally feel like the 'usual' JP novel.

The writing style wasn't what I've come to expect over the years. Whilst the chapters are still short and punchy the overall style didn't feel the same.

Defence Attorney Jane and her friend Jimmy are under pressure. Not only are they defending a man accused of a triple murder that he swears he dis not commit, they are also looking into another murder.

Jane is one hell of an attorney and keeper of secrets but can she keep hold of her own deep dark secret that seems to be threatening to come out the more the book goes on?.

At times the legal jargon felt a bit 'too'much and in all honesty it was like alot was thrown in to over complicate things to make it more interesting for the reader when it wasn't actually necessary.

Did I enjoy it.. yes
Would I recommend it.. in all honesty no

Thanks to netgalley and Random House UK for the ARC.

This is a thriller that uses James Patterson's trademark style of short chapters that give the story pace and make the reader want to read on. Lawyer Jane Smith’s has to defend a wealthy man called Rob Jacobson, who is charged with the murdering a family. He claims to be innocent but can she believe him? At the same time Jane has to work on another triple murder whilst dealing with personal tragedy. Eventually, after many twists and turns, the case are solved but not before a heavenly lot of did he, didn't he which cranks up the suspense right until the final chapter.

Jane is a humorous, smart woman and it is good to see a strong female character in this kind of thriller. It would be good to see more of her in future novels. This is James Patterson at his best and I would recommend it to all lovers of fast paced thrillers and court room dramas.

Jane Smith is an attorney who's awful client is on trail for killing the Gate family - many wonder if this will be the first case Jane ever loses... Adding to the mix as if things were not bad enough, someone is trying to silence partner and her partner - why??
Jane herself has been diagnosed with cancer with a life expectancy of 12 months.
This is a great start to a new series and new characters - I really enjoyed the story and the characters.

A huge thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of 12 Months to Live by James Patterson in return for my honest review. I know when I start a James Patterson book Im going to be in for a roller coaster ride and this one is no exception. The short chapters keep you reading just one more, lots of twists and brilliant characters what’s not to love, would love this to be the start of a new series.

If you love James Patterson books and then enjoy courtroom based thrillers then this is the book for you
A well told and intriguing story with a lot of characters to get to know but the effort is worthwhile with this story
Enjoyable read

Her name is Jane Smith. But to friends and foes, she's Jane Effing Smith.

Why? Because she's the best criminal defence attorney in the Hamptons - the elite world of New York's rich and infamous. Because she's as good an investigator as she is a lawyer. Because she's tough. She's strong.

As Jane is preparing to defend a high-profile client accused of a triple homicide, she's also hired to revive a cold case - a cluster of unsolved murders.

Then another bombshell lands. A devastating medical diagnosis. Terminal. She's got a year to live.

But for now, she has a trial to win. Unless one of her many enemies kills her first.

Absolutely brilliant thriller that will keep you reading late into the night. With his trademark short chapters and mini cliffhangers, I flew through this book. Loved it.
