This quirky, paranormal romance is pure fun! Eva Knight’s humour and take on vampire lore make for a highly entertaining read.
Funny vampire romance from the new pen name of Helena Hunting. A little outside her usual books but I liked it.
Hazy and Godric are a fun pair - and the fact he’s a vampire just makes it even more so. Some hurdles you could say they need to jump over.
Love their chemistry and the steam was so good.
Can’t wait to see what’s in store hopefully with other characters- his brothers in particular.
I absolutely adored this debut novel from pen name Eva Knight!
PNR isn't always my go-to read but there's just something about the title, the premise that pulled me in.
My Boyfriend is a Vampire has steam and banter and heat and fun. It's exactly what you want when you need something light to read.
This book is just Helena Hunting at her best. Relatable characters, fun banter, engaging writing, but this time with a supernatural twist.
Hazy Florence meets Godric Hawthorn on her way home from campus at the start of term. He captivates her. She can't quite explain what it is. He's obliviously gorgeous, but there's just something else she can't put her finger on.
Hazy's friends are fab, but her ex is a misogynistic, jealous frat pest. He's not very good at listening to no.
I mean is there anything better than a vampire romance? I absolutely loved this story. I loved how unique and quirky Hazel's character is. Godric is everything and I just loved how easy this book was to read. It is a really cute rom com and i really enjoyed it.
I absolutely freaking loved this book. In fact it began a huge love of vampire based fiction for me and even got me hooked watching vampire shows on TV. I've never read a book before that featured vampires, I have always been a "witch" person, but Eva Knight changed me. I got bitten by the vamp fiction and there is no going back.
I loved the characters, I drank up the pages with severe thirst for more. I will be forever hungry for Eva's writing now. Such a fun read.
This was. I dont know the words. Like a trashy romcom? I dont know how I feel about it yet, hence 2.5 stars.
Wow this book was a great one!
From the get - go, you could just tell that this book was going to be a fun one. And setting aside the fact that the cover of this book is reason enough to read this book, I could not get enough of the entire feel of this book.
The characters in this book were surprisingly interesting. They contributed to the hilarious nature of this book and most definitely added to it's enjoyable quality.
I just couldn't really get into this one unfortunately, but the cover is amazing and I think younger audiences would like it
I highly recommend this book. Godric is the sweetest book boyfriend that has decades and decades of practice in the sheets
An uproariously funny story that will have you laughing throughout the book! Finding out your boyfriend isn’t for the faint of heart but it will change everything you once believed.
Thank you for Netgalley anf Publisher for allowing me to access to this E-ARC.
Firstly this book had the making of a cute Vampy romance for all us Grown up Twilight Girlie's. However it read like Twilight fan fiction but with spice and not in a good way.
I had to keep reminding myself these characters were either in their mid 20s or centeries old vampires. But they all acted like they were in high school and not college. The phrase sir douchcannoe was used.
The first half of the book was literally just twilight but with a few things changed.
Then things just get from bad to worse while reading the main couple literally just had sex while he was drinking her blood constantly without letting her body time to replenish itself I'm shocked the poor lass lasted tbh and didn't constantly pass out due to lack of blood.
The ex BF antagonist was just pathetic and had zero reason to act the way he did other than a plot point and yet when that did get resolved it was over in like a chapter when he had been causing issues throughout the whole book. And even then it happened off page and we didn't even get to see anything
Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of the ARC in exchange for a review.
I liked the friendship of the girls where one of them is trying to stop Hazy from making bad decisions with her ex boyfriend. From this intro I thight that we would have heard a lot more about Hazys friends but they were hardly there.
It's perfect if you want a light easy paranormal read as it's quite a simple story as some paranormal stories can be too much to understand.
I'm not sure if the book was too much about Blaine, her ex boyfriend, interfering and trying to find out more about who Godric and his brothers are but I understand why that was there to emphasise how they try to cover up godrics secret of being a vampire especially when they had to do blood tests at college during class which reminded me of the first twilight film where they had to look at things under the microscope in Biology class.
I would have liked to of learnt more about Godrics two brothers and their stories. They could easily do side character books about them.
I liked how it wasn't too serious in going into depth with the vampire history.
I wondered how it was going to end with how this human and vampire love story was going to work out. I think the ending could maybe have been a bit better as it was only 1 month into the future so it could have given more.
Something fun and different coming from Helena (writing as Eva here). I love that we went full circle to where she began her writing.
While this book was adorable it felt as if the writing was more for teens than for a young adult age range. The description and character development was strong but the overall writing style was slightly different to what I'm used to. This isn't to say the book is bad but rather just an expression of how I personally felt while reading the book.
I was super excited about this one, and although it has fulfilled some of my want for spicy romance it did not do much else. I didn't feel like much happened, it was this university romance thing where the vampire seemed to "imprint" on Hazy (Hazel). Felt a bit weird reading knowing he is a vampire while Hazy didn't until about halfway through. But this made it boring as there was not enough high stakes of his actions because he was trying to hide that he's a vampire.
Then he told her, and she had 1 chapter of having a minor crisis about it then just accepted it, all she wanted to do was have sex with him like some brainless girl, but as she was studying medicine we know she isn't.
I think if you just want spice between characters then this would be great, but if you are looking for spice and a plot this isn't really for you.
Helena Hunting is one of my auto reads!
I love all her characters and Kitty and Miles are no different - I am a cat mom so I loved all the cat stuff which just made me smile!
Kitty is a little bit of a hot mess and Miles is alittle uptight but together they make a perfect couple.
If you love cats and characters that make you laugh then read this sweet book.
This was great! Absolutely devoured it in one sitting. You should definitely read it. The entire book kept me riveted, obviously. It was cute with unique characters and a fast flowing storyline. One of my favorite paranormal reads this year.
Cute and quirky, Eva Knight delivers a fun spin on vampire romance. The characters are well written and the plot is dynamic and un-put-downable (yes I made that up).
It's a quick and fun read, worth every minute!
This book is the perfect mix of cute yet paranormal! I loved it and took me way back to my twilight vibe days! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book.
