Eva Knight's "My Boyfriend is a Vampire," has been a delightful surprise, harking back to the nostalgic days of "Twilight" with a fresh perspective. The narrative follows Hazy Florence, a top-of-her-class student who craves a dash of excitement, only to find herself entwined with her enigmatic and supernaturally charming neighbor, Godric Hawthorn. The novel, while tipping its hat to familiar vampire romance tropes, injects new life into them with clever twists and genuine creativity, setting itself apart as a unique narrative within the New Adult genre.
The novel successfully integrates the thrill of paranormal romance with the relatable dynamics of college life, blending pre-med challenges with mystical elements, which is a combination that I found particularly engaging. The addition of a half vampire/half wizard character added an intriguing layer to the lore of the story. The romance between Hazy and Godric is not just another campus fling; it's laced with the intensity only a paranormal bond could bring, offering steamy scenes that are well-suited for the genre's audience.
"My Boyfriend is a Vampire" is a compelling, easy read that promises excitement and heart-racing romance. It's one of those stories that has the potential to expand into a series, exploring more of the mystical world Knight has created

I absolutely loved this book I couldn’t put it down! Hazy and Godric were everything I laughed out loud so many times and the spice wow. The side characters were just as amazing as the main characters. I hope we see more in this series

Hazel and Godrick was a fun and cute read. I liked the characters and it was an enjoyable read. I’m not big on vampire romances but I did like this one. Definitely worth picking up.

My Boyfriend is a Vampire by Helena Hunting (written as Eva Knight) was such a fun paranormal romance! The FMC, Hazy, was funny, sweet, and extremely relatable (especially when she finds out the truth about Godric). I loved this take on vampirism and all the science that was included!
I really hope that Godric’s brothers will get their own books, because I’d love to see more of these characters and to find out what comes next for them.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

My boyfriend is a vampire is a new adult romance set in a university setting mixing humor, love, friendship, family, student parties, and the paranormal. This novel is cute as can be, without excess drama, with a hero to die for and a witty heroine.
For my taste, there are too many hot scenes and especially too many references to their countless orgasms. Which somehow makes the love story a bit superficial. On the other hand, I liked the "scientific" side. This is not my first novel with vampires who go down the road of blood research (A discovery of witches for example), but I appreciated this choice by the author. Not to mention that this brings more adventures, with Hazy's ex among others.
I liked the derision against the stereotypes of vampires. Particularly a reference to Edward from Twilight. I loved Godric's brothers, I hope they get their own book.
As always, I loved the writing of Helena Hunting (pen name : Eva Knight). Lots of humor, imagination, sarcasm, energy.
Overall, this novel offers an extremely pleasant, rather light read, perfect for this Halloween month, perfect for having a good time with a smile on your face.

This was a solid okay. A little bit of insta lust, some very steamy parts, dialogue that felt cringe to me (do college students really say “bone” ALL THE TIME?), definite unresolved vampire + human issues that were all raised and then just…glossed over, and chemistry that was a little all over the place. The most interesting parts for me were before our heroine knows her boyfriend is a vampire and the biology aspects of experimenting with the effects of vampire blood and venom. The stalker ex boyfriend took up way too much space in the book to have his conclusion be so lackluster, and there was never any urgency or plot tension because vampires can just fix everything. Also, we get the very cliché “you’re not like other girls/humans” line from the VERY OLD vampire but I just didn’t see any actual character traits beyond facts stated about her. She was very vanilla. And I still can’t get behind a lot of the dialogue. She sounded very casual sex to then be all in after 2 weeks of dating and the vampire uses terms like “groovy” and “cool beans” to show he has lived through other time periods…..but his siblings both sound perfectly normal. It was fast and easy to read, but felt like it could still use some work to make it a stand out story.

"Godric has a secret . . . he's a vampire."
A fun, rom-com that had some fun banter and realistic situations!
I thought the premise of this book was so fun, and I'm happy to say that it completely delivered! Hazy and Godric were amazing and I loved them together. Their romance was fabulous, the comedic parts of the story had me cracking up. I liked the writing and the initial start of their relationship.
I did think it got a bit boring after they got together, but that was bound to happen as they introduce themselves to parents etc.

My Boyfriend is a Vampire by Eva Knight is a fantastic read that I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys romance and paranormal stories.
The story is told from the dual first-person perspective of Hazy and Godric, which allows the reader to get a better understanding of both characters and their motivations. The building romance between Hazy and Godric is well-written and engaging. I found myself rooting for them throughout the book. Eva Knight's writing style is engaging and easy to read. The pacing of the story is well-done, and I found myself turning the pages to see what would happen next. The book has some funny moments that had me laughing out loud. The banter between the characters is well-written and adds to the overall enjoyment of the story.
While the book does a good job of creating its own vampire mythology, some readers may find it lacking in detail.
Overall, My Boyfriend is a Vampire is a great read that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys romance and paranormal stories. The dual POV, engaging romance, and well-written humor make it a book that is hard to put down.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book got my attention as I will read most things involving vampires and it seemed like a perfect combination of some of my favourite genres.
The story was so self aware it made me love it even more and it was a really enjoyable read. I thought there was a perfect amount of spice and balanced out with some comedy and mystery.
For anyone who likes paranormal romance or is wanting to get into this genre then this is the book for you!

My Boyfriend is a Vampire is a new funny, sexy paranormal rom com by Eva Night (Helena Hunting's pen name) Vampires and Helena? Yes, please! When Hazy meets Godric before classes start they have an instant attraction. But he seems aloof and then chatty. Then he runs away, then he's showing up. She can't get a read on him. But after a few funny encounters, and an explanation, she takes a chance and goes out with him. He's not like any man she's met before, but she really likes him. He's sexy, sweet, smart and tastes like…candy. She accidentally finds out he's a vampire, but she's more interested in how, why, when, what, than being afraid for herself. The pre-med in her comes out and she just wants to know all the things. Godric has been around for a long time and he's never met anyone like Hazy. Human or Vampire. She's the one. His mate. But there are a lot of things to consider when you date a human. How can they make it work? Are they smart enough to figure out a way? I loved Hazy and Godric. They just fit so well together. Vampire and human. Lovers and friends. They are sexy, sweet and fun. The story is really interesting and entertaining. And I really, really want to see more from these characters! Pretty please!

My first induction into the world of vampire romances was with JR Ward’s fabulous Black Dagger Brotherhood series. And since I love Helena Hunting’s books, I wanted to see her take on this trope, and she didn’t disappoint! Everything I knew about vampires in romance books was here, and she upped the stakes giving us an awesome heroine in Hazel. She’s super intelligent, quirky, funny, and incredibly kind.
I had a great time reading all the hints that Godfric was a vampire while Haze stayed clueless. Then loved how they got close, partly in spite of, and partly because of, he’s a vampire and therefore technically a predator. Her tingles were lust combined with fascination. I love their love story, loved how she took his vampirism with what Hunter called their “sappy-nerdy science love bites” as they try to understand the effects of Godfric’s venom on Haze.
It’s a very entertaining read, and it touches on all the problems that a human-vampire relation can have. At some parts it’s heartbreaking but I love Haze’s constant optimism and her promise that they’ll figure it out. The pace started out a bit slow but once the story grabs you, it turns feverishly fast. Everything you want to read in a vampire romance was here and more, plus the fantastic humor. Godfric’s brothers are present, and especially interesting was Laz, who is a vampire-warlock hybrid. I want more of Laz!

Hazy is ready for her senior year as a pre-med student and vows not to make the same mistake she does at the start of every year . . . her ex boyfriend Blaine. Instead she finds herself interested in the new senior transfer, Godric. He isn't like other guys. He’s a bit more serious as well as seriously hot. And, Hazy is all in!
Godric has a big secret though, he and his brothers are vampires! He is willing to risk his safety and his heart to share his secret with Hazy, but how can a relationship between them ever work out? Add in Blaine the Pain, who isn't taking Hazy’s rejection well. When he starts digging where he shouldn't, it’s not only Hazy and Godric’s relationship at risk, but their very survival!
Buckle up for a smart and funny rom com that will have you laughing out loud one moment, oohing and aahing the next and wondering what comes next page after page!
I loved Hazy. She’s smart and funny. And, while she is a typical college girl in many ways, she knows her heart. Watching her try to come to terms with Godric’s secrets was endearing. And, I adored her science nerdiness as well.
Godric was absolutely perfect. He was awkward at times but so very sincere with Hazy. He’s also a science nerd. His brother’s Hunter and Laz are fantastic as well. I loved the dynamic between the brothers and watching them try to live a double life of college student and centuries old vampire.
My Boyfriend is a Vampire was a great mix of romantic comedy with some serious and emotional moments. I hope to see more from this pen name as it was a lot of fun and a great binge read. My only complaint is that I wish we saw farther into the future but I guess we just have to take it day by day like Hazy and Godric. 4.5 stars!

So excited and grateful to get my hands on this book. Helena Hunting is one of my favorite authors and I was excited to see what was put into this book. Eva Knight her pen name, I was hopeful some of the same amazing writing. This is a different kind of book for me as I don't read many fantasy books and have not read a vampire book in about 10 years. I was definitely up for the occasion.
Told book is told in dual pov and is a love story between college students Hazy and Godric a vampire. Their love story unfolded and their connection was beautiful to read. It sure was sexual but their emotional connection strong. True to form, the sexy scenes were hot, hot, hot!! His brothers were a bonus as both funny and supportive. could we get a book one each of them?
The ending was exactly what I was hoping for. I loved this book, would recommend this to friends! I was pleasantly surprised and happy I took a chance and read it.
Thank you Helena Hunting, the publisher, and of course Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review an ARC copy!

I am not a big reader of paranormal romances but when I heard that Helena Hunting was writing her first as Eva Knight, I was intrigued. I thought this was a cute and funny college romance with a vampire twist. I really enjoyed Hazy and Godric's story and would love to see more paranormal romances from Hunting.

I read Helena Hunting books because I love her FMC's. They are quirky and unapologetic about it and my heart needs that! Confession time? I don't like vampires... I don't really read vampire books, when I tell you this book may have made a liar out of me? It is that good! Please mrs Knight? Can we have another? I feel like this new foray into paranormal was the start of something beautiful. And Bookworld needed it!
Hazy and God are just fantastic together. It has the best witty banter, a little angst, scorching chemistry. It's the perfect romcom to read in the build up to Halloween!
I could have easily fallen for one of the other two Hawthorn brothers... What am I writing? Please for the people who know me, do not freak out! Yes it's me and this really was a great book!

In this paranormal rom com book, we meet college student, Hazy, her roommates, Satya and Alyssa, and Godric and his brothers, Hunter and Laz. Godric and his brothers moved into a house on fraternity row that seemed to have gone through a miraculous renovation from rundown to beautiful overnight. During a Halloween party hosted at their house, Hazy walks in and freaks out when she learns her boyfriend is a vampire. Godric makes a great boyfriend as he's always trying to ensure Hazy's comfort, both physically and emotionally.
I usually loooove Helena Hunting stories because of the wonderful characters she crafts for us to read. This book seemed to be the intro to a potential series (?) as there were character complexities and interactions that weren't fully explained, and the ending seemed a little abrupt and tidy...for now? I hope there's more to come in this world. This was a solid 3.5 star read.
