5 Stars My Boyfriend is a Vampire by Eva Knight (Helena Hunting's paranormal romance pen name) is one of the most delightful and unique books I've read this year! This book will make a great palate cleanser since it perfectly balances the romance with the paranormal/supernatural while remaining lighthearted and fun.
I wasn't really sure what to expect going into this book and expected it to get somewhat darker than it did, but like I said before, it was lighthearted and delightful. It falls more into the category of romantic comedy than paranormal romance for me. I'm really hoping that Helena Hunting makes this into a series and that the next books are about Godric's brothers, Hunter and Laz. Such a great book and I highly recommend if you are looking for something lighthearted and fun!
4.5 stars. This was an entertaining young adult story of Hazy and Godric. They meet at a frat party and they have instant chemistry in addition to having the same major. I liked the different take on vampires and low angst in addition to the laughs though out the book (what you would expect from a Helena Hunting book (AKA Eva Knight). This book can definitely be enjoyed even if you are not a paranormal fan.
A definite departure from typical Helena Hunting books, her foray into paranormal romcom as “Eva Knight” is quite a success in my opinion with this fun, entertaining, read! I had no idea what to expect and absolutely loved this book and all of the totally unique characters. There has to be more books coming! PLEASE Helena ……..
Hazy meets the gorgeous, charming Godric as he and his brothers move into an old supposedly “haunted” house at Hazy’s college, fix it up to pristine condition, and then Godric becomes Hazy’s lab partner as both are studying pre-med. When he falls hard for this “human woman” and circumstances arise where he’s forced to confess he’s a vampire, Hazy doesn’t freak out. Well not running away screaming anyway. She watches vampire series, researches what’s mostly mythical about vampires and in turn has LOTS of questions. It’s all quite fun. Their attraction and their feelings intensify and things get serious. There’s a lot of research and blood sampling, (no, not THAT KIND - they are pre-med and lab partners remember - both geeks and curious about their vampire/human connection) some intense chemistry, and loads of sex! Ok, yea, there may be some biting with all that sex too but that’s all I’m giving away.
We meet Godric’s two brothers, Hunter (the party guy - uh, party vampire) and Laz (who’s 1/2 vampire and 1/2 warlock so he has magical powers too). Helena, you’ve opened up a whole world with these delicious vampire brothers!
Hazy has funny, loyal best friends/roommates. She also has a creepy, stalker ex-boyfriend, Blaine, who no one seems to like and he’s fixated on her new boyfriend and his brothers. He lives across the street from them after all. But. He’s no match for 3 vampires and that’s 1/2 the fun, especially when they derail his obsessions toward the end. Definitely a laugh out loud moment.
This book has great humor, touching emotional connections between Godric and Hazy, Godric and his brothers, Hazy and her roomates, and when Godric meets Hazy’s 4 older, over protective brothers, it pulls a bit at your heartstrings. Godric may not be able to divulge that he’s a vampire, but he certainly shows her brothers that he’s crazy in love with Hazy. Definitely some swoon worthy moments.
This book has it all. I was hooked on this story page 1. It’s light, fun, and definitely special. I am crossing my fingers that we get more!
That was cute and all kinds of fun! I loved how things just organically unfolded, and there weren’t hysterics, simply acceptance, and getting on with it. There is a whole science-y vibe that is actually very interesting, and added a new element to any lore. All in all, a fun, easy to read, college romance story, with one of the main characters who just happens to be a vampire 😊
This was a humorous and sassy little vampire romance. I really enjoyed Godric and his brothers relationship so much. They are all so unique, and their conversations were so fun to witness. This book had a bit of fated mates, which I always love, and it allowed for some great steam.
I will say that the resolution to the suspenseful aspect was a little anticlimactic for my liking but still made me laugh. I'm not a big PNR person normally, so if you're not big into PNR, this might be a good place to try out the genre.
4.5 stars
What happens when Helena Hunting writes a New Adult vampire romance? A new pen name (Eva Knight), and a fantastically steamy and entertaining novel (My Boyfriend is a Vampire).
My Boyfriend is a Vampire infuses humor, wit, and a whole lot of steam into a unique story that also knows its roots. Fans of Twilight (and/or its memes) and other vampire properties will appreciate the subtle homages peppered throughout the story. And fans of Hunting’s other work will enjoy the ways in which she’s successfully segued into yet another genre.
The word building and characters are top-notch, so much so that I hope there are other stories to come set in this universe. I also enjoyed the unique spin on vampire lore, and the incorporation of science into the mix. It’s always exciting to see what authors do with established mythology/lore, and this book’s unique spin left me intrigued and wanting more. (In the best way.)
If you’re looking for a fun read to pick up for the Halloween season, or just something to make you smile and swoon, My Boyfriend is a Vampire is just the book for you.
A sincere thanks to the author, Penguin Random House, and NetGalley for generously providing me with an ARC. All opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed this wonderfully entertaining paranormal romance. Hazy and Godric are two science nerds who meet at the beginning of their senior year of college. Hazy is determined to avoid her ex boyfriend and have a fun last year. Godric and his brothers are new students who are mysterious, awkward, but deliciously handsome. Hazy and Godric hit it off from the start because of their shared interest in science. Godric is sweet, and attentive, and they have an intense connection that sparks whenever they are near each other. They enjoy getting to know each other, and want more. But Godric and his brothers have their secrets, and Hazy's ex is determined to figure out what they are. When he gets too dangerously close, it could end in a bl00dy disaster! Hazy and Godric make an adorkable couple with loads of sizzling chemistry. Hazy's friends are the best, and Godric's brothers are so amusing and intriguing, that I hope to have their stories too! This story isn’t spooky, but it is a delightful, magical romance with the perfect balance of humor, heart and heat.

cw: stalking
When brothers move into the seemingly haunted house on Frat Row, Hazy is immediately intrigued by handsome Godric. Her attraction is reciprocated, but Godric and his family have a big secret. They're all vampires.
This is a Helena Hunting story (writing under her paranormal romance name), so there was plenty of her trademark humour and steamy scenes. And it was a lot of fun. I immediately loved Hazy. She was amusing, and I really loved her internal dialogue. Godric was adorable and I adored the way he looked after Hazy. They were so sweet together, but their chemistry was also palpable, and their attraction almost as fast-moving as Godric. I enjoyed the more light-hearted approach to vampirism in the story, and appreciated the development of Godric and Hazy's relationship, particularly the way Hazy questioned things clinically, rather than over-emotionally (after the initial shock, of course).
God's brothers Hunter and Laz were great additions: I particularly loved Laz, and would LOVE him to find someone who enjoyed rom-coms as much as he does. Hazy's friends were hilarious, but they felt a bit forgotten in the second half of the story. Blaine was obnoxious, but his creepiness allowed for some tense and comedic moments, and his comeuppance was satisfying. That said, I felt the ending was a little rushed and oversimplified, as Hazy - though she implies what will eventually have to happen if she and Godric remain together - doesn't really ever emotionally navigate the concerns Godric has for her and her family. As such the story focused on a HFN ending, and I'd love to read more from this group of characters.
A satisfying HFN college vampire romance.

*Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to leave an honest review. My Boyfriend is a Vampire is published on 19th October in the UK*
Favourite Quotes:
‘You’re not fragile, Hazy, you’re precious. There’s nothing in this world that I want more than you. And when I touch you, all I want is to make you feel as good as touching you makes me feel.’
This is a fun, lighthearted, paranormal read that is perfect for spooky season.
Hazy is a premed student and she meets a mysterious new student, Godric. Though, Godric isn’t just a normal student or even a human, he’s a vampire. Yet, that doesn’t seem to deter Hazy from exploring the connection they have. Their love of science is what draws them together, but the chemistry between them is also amazing.
I love Godric’s brothers and how different the three of them are from each other. I loved the interactions between them throughout this book.
If you’re looking for a paranormal rom com check this one out.
I am not always the biggest paranormal/vampire fan, but I really enjoyed My Boyfriend is a Vampire and I'm so glad I gave it a read!
Hazy Florence is a pre-med student and she is looking to relax do some things that are not all studying and school related. She ends up meeting a man named Godric Hawthorn and after that meeting, she knows that her life is never going to be the same. The connection between Hazy and Godric is immediate, obvious and the passion between them burns hot.
This book made me laugh, smile, had plenty of spice and I also really enjoyed all of the supporting characters and how they added to the story! Godric's brothers were fantastic!
I recommend picking this one up!

I really enjoyed this story. It was different than my normal reads, because I don’t read much paranormal. I was excited to try something new from a favorite author. I thought this story was entertaining and fun to read. The connection between Hazy and Godric was intense from the start. I liked the way the story unfolded and how Godric’s truth was revealed. I found their research very intriguing. This was a great story.
My Boyfriend is a Vampire was a unique and entertaining read. This book is definitely different from all the books Helena has written in the past, so I understand why it's under a pen name. I enjoyed getting something very different from her usual writing, but also keeping parts of her in the book. Hazy was entertaining with her lack of filter and word vomiting. I also enjoyed seeing her nerd side come out, especially with Godric. Godric was a little hard to read at first, I didn't know what to make of him. As the book goes on and the big secret is revealed to Hazy, he really starts to open up, and we get to see a lot more of him. Him and Hazy make a really cute couple, and I think they have a good chance of making a change in their world with how smart and determined they are. *I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*
This is a fun little RomCom with a Paranormal twist. Hazy Florence is a Senior Pre-med student who is trying to finish up her degree while avoiding her persistent ex Blaine. She meets Transfer student Godric and his two brothers, Hunter and Laz when they are fixing up the neighborhood “haunted” house. Of course, there is instant chemistry between Hazy and God, but there is just a little hiccup on the way to a happily ever after. Godric and his brothers are vampires. I love this take on the Young Adult vampire genre. Normally there is all sorts of angst in these books, but this one is much lighter and has a sense of humor. I really hope that the author writes more books in this series as I would love to see God’s brothers get their happily ever after as well (especially romance loving Laz). I received an arc of this book from the author for my honest review.
My Boyfriend is a Vampire - Eva Knight
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hazy and Godric fall for each other the moment they meet. What Hazy thinks is a normal college romance soon turns to something with a twist.
I really enjoyed this book, it was the perfect halloween vibes romance that I was looking for. It reminded me of Twilight with a lot more spice😂.
Would recommend this for anyone looking for a spooky romance this halloween! 🧛
Thank you to Netgalley for sending me this book in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own.

Eva Knight is a new author to me but Helena Hunting is a go to author for me so I was excited to read My Boyfriend Is A Vampire and all I need to say is this book was everything I expected and so much more.
If you love rom com’s look no further than Hazy Florence and Godric Hawthorn’s entertaining read.
Quirky Hazy has fallen hard and fast for her new neighbour Godric but what she doesn’t know is her new neighbour is a vampire…..what follows is a witty and entertaining read that will appeal to a wide range of audiences. Honestly I’m not normally a paranormal reader but I’m excited to get more from Eva Knight possibly from Godric’s brothers.
I was given this book from the publisher through NetGalley
This was such a fun paranormal romance and I’m so glad Helena Hunting stepped out of her normal to write this! I think if you enjoy Helena’s other works, even if you aren’t super into paranormal romance, you would enjoy this one!
Hazy and Godric were so cute together! They had this instant connection but they still got to know each other! It was fun to watch the story unfold and that it was kinda sciencey! This was definitely a fresh take on vampire/human relationship!
The end was definitely left a little open, so I’m curious to see if there will be more stories in this world 👀
This one is out October 19 and if you like paranormal romances you should definitely check this one out! I did receive an early copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
Thank you to Netgalley, Penguin Publishing and @helenahunting for providing this eARC.
Hazel "Hazy" Florence just wants to enjoy her senior year of college with her friends and to keep her life drama free. She never expected to fall for Godric Hawthorn, the awkward but very attractive new guy on campus. And she certainly didn't expect to find out he and his brothers are vampires. Things get totally complicated for Hazy as she tries to navigate falling in love with an immortal, keeping his secrets, and fending off the advances of her nosy ex-boyfriend. Hilarity and hijinks abound as they work together to protect their identity.
This was a sweet and light rom com to start off the spooky season! Hazy is a force to be reckoned with and I really enjoyed her positivity regarding sex and a woman's body. She is smart and engaging with pockets of clumsiness and uncertainty, which makes her a believable and likeable character. And Godric is just adorable…like a sweet vampire golden retriever. He's possessive but whipped at the same time 🤣
What is unique about this story is that it takes a somewhat scientific approach to vampirism, and looks at alternative approaches to making a human-vampire relationship work.
The ending did feel a little rushed and sort of anticlimactic, but the different approach to a human-vampire relationship and the quirky characters made this a truly enjoyable read!
This vampire story is swoony and all things spicy. Hazy meets Godric the attractive guy that just moved into the old house in the neighborhood. Every time she is near him she gets the tingles. He is just as enamored with her. The interesting parts begin when she learns he is a vampire. I don’t spoil the fun except to say there is an HEA.

This was a quick read with lots of sass and spice! Hazy was a great leading lady, she’s funny, quirky, smart and not afraid to speak her mind. I absolutely love that in a heroine! And Godric was the epitome of perfect boyfriend. Attractive, attentive, and respectful. He embraced Hazy’s quirks instead of trying to change her.
I really enjoyed this one, and I could definitely see potential for Godric’s brothers to get their own stories. But I will say, I really thought we were building to something a lot more intense at the end, but it seemed wrapped up very quickly. I do wish we could have dove more into that, but the ending was still sweet. All in all this was a good one, and I’d definitely read more if this turns into a series!
I enjoyed this book. It was funny and steamy. I cried as well. All the emotions. I hope one day we have the Hunter and Laz's story. We definitely need it.
