This was Helena Hunting's first paranormal romance writing as Eva Knight and I definitely enjoyed reading it. Godric and his siblings were a delight and I enjoyed their banter. I also really liked Hazy and her relationship with her friends. The spice was spicing and I loved it. I thought incorporating science and blood tests and labs was a really cool sub plot. The beginning and the end felt a little rushed to me and I was feeling a little all over the place at points. But the humor was absolutely there and the love story was great as I expected it to be. Thank you to the author for providing a copy to read and review!
An adorable story, that is sweetly intriguing, with a brilliant new twist on an old vampy classic.
Godric Hawthorn and Hazel, or Hazy, Florence attend university together, but Godric isn't your normal, everyday, college student. Godric has unique quirks like saying "groovy" and his clothing, is at times, a bit eccentric, but there is just something about him that makes Hazy's nips stand at attention every time he's near and she really wants to get to know him better even with his odd behavior.
Godric and Hazy have a lot of great moments and I love how they walk through their relationship together, especially since they are both scientists at heart. Hazy finds the man captivating and the more she learns the more the can't stay away...but will she still be intrigued when she discovers that her boyfriend is a vampire?
This book has a great take on a lot of old vampire tales and I certainly loved everything about Godric and his brothers, Hunter and Laz. Laz is such a funny contradiction; the biggest gloomy grump who loves rom-coms and has to celebrate Christmas, but he also never fails to point out every pragmatic flaw around him. He really grew on me by the end. Hunter is a little more of a mystery, but he's the total YOLO brother. He loves to party, loves hookups, and is happy for his brother finding happiness. He is also there with a smile and his special brand of IPA. I'd love to dig more into these Hawthorn brothers because I love their differences, so I'd love to see a book for each of them.
This was a good romance sprinkled with comedy and drama and tension. The characters were interesting and loveable and Blaine added another level to that.
Romance between Godric and Hazy was cute .
The lead up to the end did feel a little rushed though but I loooved the rest of it.
I loved Hazy and Godrick. They meet because they are both pre-med. Hazy is trying to not fall back into old habits with her ex Blaine. She can’t completely avoid him since they have classes together as well as work on the paper. Things change when she meets the people who have moved into the old house across the street from Blaine’s house. While most people shy away from Godrick, Hunter, and Laz, Hazy feels a pull towards Godrick. As they move forward in their relationship, Godrick has to find a way to explain his big secret, and hope that they can navigate a future together.

This was such a cute and fun read. I loved the uniqueness of the vampires in this world Eva created. Nothing wild, but still unique. It was definitely a low angst story with the main issues stemming from Hazy's ex d bag and not between Hazy and Godric, which is always refreshing for a rom-com.
I really loved how the point of views were written. We get only Hazy's POV until she discovers the truth and then we start to get Godric's too. I loved being inside his head and was really happy we ended up getting both POVs in this story.
The science aspect was really interesting and fun too. Not only did we get super smart characters, but I loved that they were ultimately researching themselves as well.
I'm really hoping we get Laz's, Hunter's, Alyssa's and Satya's stories too. All four of these siblings and friends were great side characters that I'd love to get to know better, especially Laz. Looking forward to more from Eva!
This story is so cute. I'm not really a PNR fan, although I do read it occasionally. But I love Helena Hunting, who wrote this book as Eva Knight.
Hazy is Pre-med and top of her class. School is back in sesson and she and her friends are determined to make this year great. And no, she will not be getting back together with her loser ex, Blaine.
Walking with her two bestie roommates, Hazy and her friends pass by the house they have always called the haunted house because it was an abandoned, overgrown mess. But now, it has seemingly been transformed overnight by 3 hot guys, who are brothers. When Hazy meets Godric, the sparks fly.
As Hazy and Godric get to know one another, their feelings deepen. But Godric is hiding something from Hazy, she's just not sure what it is. Godric knows he has to tell Hazy the truth but how do you tell your girlfriend that you're a vampire?
This is a quirky story with great supporting characters. Hazy's besties are great supports to her. Godric's brothers are both great. I'd love to know more about their lives. Hazy's ex, Blaine, is determined to cause trouble and get dirt on Godric because he thinks it'll get Hazy back. It's up to Godric, his brothers and Hazy to stop him.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It is quite different than what I usually read! It college age romance with loads and spicy. I am excited to see where this series goes from! I enjoyed Hazy and Godric insta love connection. I enjoyed the same Helena Hunting comedy!
P.S. why can’t Random Penguin house give out EPUB. It was nightmare to read!
This is just the book to get you in the fall spirit, and the holidays that are included in the book help immensely. I fell head over heels in love with Godric and Hazy. This story kept me laughing out loud and whooping at the ending where a certain person gets their just deserts. The whole clan meshed so well together and the vibe was on point for older college kids. Hopefully we get more from the side characters as I am just as excited to see how the brothers and Hazy's friends will turn out in their own stories.
This is a fun quick read, it kept me entertained and enjoying it from beginning to end. Godrick and Hazy are interesting characters and have unique qualities. This book is not your normal PNR book but that was some it appeal.
While this is a different type of book than the author (Helena Hunting writing as Eva Knight) typically writes, it has some similarities that you may be familiar with. Same heat level, same humor, same great character/story development. The cover may be a bit deceiving with it's illustration, this is not cartoony. Although there is the supernatural element (the Hero is a vampire after all,) it doesn't really feel like that (except for a few scenes where magic is involved.) So even if you aren't into Sci/Fi or Paranormal genres, you can enjoy this read. This is more of a 'smart' read, in the sense that the characters are taking classes in the medical field, and there is a lot of talk about the science behind blood/blood disorders and the like. This story doesn't have any 'mean girls' trying to cause trouble by enticing the Hero away from the Heroine, but it does have one boy who is causing enough frustration for everyone all on his own. It alternates POVs, though the majority comes from the Heroine's. Don't let that cartoon cover fool you, this is not a sweet or clean or cutesy read. It has enough steam that is more suitable for mature readers. (There is a little bit of cuteness though.) ;)
*I received an ARC of this book through Netgalley.
This book was absolutely amazing. I couldn’t get enough of Hazy and Godric. Every character was amazing well except for Blaine lol. Helena did such an amazing job with this story and characters. Definitely a 5 star read that everyone should read.
Pre med student Hazy Florence wants to let loose a little. When she meets a mysterious man named Godric Hawthorn her life as she knows it will never be the same. He is no ordinary college guy, nope…he is a Vampire! What’s a girl to do when your heart is involved? A fun and light romcom about boyfriend’s that maybe aren’t completely human but nobody’s perfect. Such an easy and campy pnr romance but don’t worry there’s plenty of steamy moments too. I truly enjoyed Hazy and Godric’s connection and silly moments. I also loved all the side characters and their antics. A perfect weekend romance to get you in the Halloween spirit. Told in dual POV
Thank you Helena and PRH for an early e-copy to review!
When I heard Helena was diving into the world of paranormal romance under the pen name of Eva Knight, I was so stinking excited. Helena writes some of my absolute favorite romance novels, and as a big fan of paranormal romance/vampires, I knew this was going to be GOLD. And I have to say I wasn’t wrong.
Hazy is a senior in college and on track to graduate top of her class. She’s not necessarily looking for romance, and she definitely isn’t looking for it with her ex who will just not get the hint that she’s no longer interested. But, when she runs into the new guy in town, who moved into the haunted house with his brothers and absolutely cleaned it up, those plans start to change. She might not have planned for their relationship, but one thing she definitely didn’t plan on was him being a vampire…
One thing you can always expect from Helena (aside from spice - which I will get to) is comedy, and this definitely delivers! The humor in this book is a little more toned down I’d say, compared to some of her others, but it is still absolutely there and totally hilarious. I love her form of comedy, because it helps keep the story going and keeps you engaged. Additionally, as I mentioned, the spice we expect is there too - with the added component of vampire bites which yes please.
One thing I really like is that she explored and developed a vampire lore. At first, I wasn’t sure how deep it was going to go, but once the cat was out of the bag, we started to see more of the vampire world she developed and it was excellent. I am really excited to see if there is more in the world so we can dive further into the research Godric is doing with Hazy. Also, this brings me to some of the side characters, who I am not so patiently waiting for their stories to come too. Because, hello Hunter I need his story right now.
Overall, this was a super enjoyable read and I gave it 4.5 stars!
Take everything you know and love about Helena Hunting's hockey novels or stand alone rom coms and add vampires. It was fun and funny and sweet and spicy and just a little bit silly, but in the good way. Taking place on a college campus, Hazy is in her last year in her pre-med undergrad program and determined not to make the same boy mistake she makes every year. Enter Godric, He and his brothers have moved into the haunted house on Greek Row, apparently inheriting the old building from their great-uncle. Godric is gorgeous and something about his very being sets off fireworks in Hazy's pants.
The insta-lust was so funny and ridiculous and over the top (again, in the best way) that I managed to forget I don't actually enjoy insta-lust stories most of the time. This book felt very much like a rom-com with paranormal elements rather than a paranormal romance, which isn't a bad thing but definitely something to be aware of.
While I wish there was a bit more on the lore behind vampires and world-building of the vampire/magical society I enjoyed the vampire mythology immensely. Especially the way feeding on Hazy effected her. Plus, the data nerd in me loved all of the experimentation and data they took and how talking about it was foreplay for them. It was weirdly hot.
I do think Blaine's gross factor may have been a little over the top and that there was a missed opportunity for increased peril at the end. But I'm happy in the knowledge that Blaine will spend eternity on Fire Ant Mountain (the place where all of Helena's worst characters go).
I hope we get a chance to see more in this series because there is a lot of territory that can be explored with these characters and with the side characters introduced. 4/5⭐ 4/5🔥
Unique Paranormal Romance
I don’t read a lot of paranormal romance novels, but I enjoyed this one. It’s was definitely entertaining and an interesting twist!
I know this is God & Hazy’s super cute romcom but I low key love Laz🖤
My Boyfriend is a Vampire is a super cute & lite romcom with a “new” in town family of brothers. God & Hazy are drawn to each other & their bond is pretty cool. I love that they have so much in common & they can bond over their science loving hearts.
Hunter & Laz are both great and I hope we get their stories. I just know that Laz’s grumpy romcom loving self will have the most epic romcom relationship 💕
My Boyfriend is a Vampire is a fantastic read. This is Helena Hunting writing as Eva Knight and she does a fantastic job with this paranormal romance. There are lots of giggles to be had as Hazy and Godric navigate college and the vampire/human connection they have. Hazy will put a smile on your face as she takes everything in. Godric is wonderful and you will love his brothers too. I love the pull between Godric and Hazy as the grow closer. You feel the bond they form as they work on getting a better understanding on the effects that occur in their human/vampire relationship. I could not get enough of Godric and Hazy. I really hope this will be a series and we get more of Godric's brothers and a peak of Hazy and Godric. I'm not ready for this to end. More please. Go one click this now.

Hazy + Godrick
We're in our last year of college in Upstate New York.
Hazy is living in a house with her two besties. And Godrick just moved into the old abandoned house in the neighborhood with his two brothers.
It's insta attraction between Hazy and Godrick.
But there's also Hazy's idiot ex Blaine. He wants her back.
And there's obviously the tiny little fact that Godrick is a Vampire.
And Blaine is a reporter for the college newspaper and he's very suspicious of things!

Adorable!
I really liked reading this.
I'm not the biggest paranormal romance fan. But if it has to be paranormal - it better be a Vampire!
This was a cute college romance. Funny, sparky, adorable, a little mysterious and exciting.
The characters were a tiny bit old for my tastes. Somewhere between 15 and 19 would've been much better. All that partying and talking about boys non-stop didn't really fit with a collegey person who wants to become a doctor very soon. The ages just felt weird to me. At least in the first half of the book.
The story was cute but it was also a bit slow. The way she finds out about Godrick was weird and a bit ridiculous and too late into the book - a book that is called My boyfriend is a Vampire! It should've been either a series, so that we'll get much more of Godrick and Hazy or a few repeating lines and scenes should've been cut to make it faster and more interesting.
For a Vampire Rom-Com there wasn't enough Vampire stuff and not enough Comedy. It has both but it could've been much more. And a bit less of the partying and Blaine drama. It feels like the book was too long at first and Helena cut too much of the good parts!
But I still liked reading it. It got better after 50%!
It was a cute college thingy and we love those!
I mean - there's not much new stuff you could invent when it comes to romances and vampires.
And I liked Godrick and Hazel and the friends and brothers are great too. There's potential for a lot more from all these people! (Especially with that ending! 😉 But don't worry - we don't get a Cliffy!)
► MY BOYFRIEND IS A VAMPIRE was a cute and funny and collegy and vampirey New Adult Love Story! I really liked it!
This was a really fun vampire read. I absolutely loved Hazy and Godric, their chemistry was off the charts from the very beginning and their lust/love went above and beyond every obstacle that came their way. This is a very light-hearted vampire read, much suited for a YA audience, as it focused more on the romance than Godric being a vampire. It was a really fun premise and I had a lot of fun with the story and the characters Eva had created.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

I wanted to like that book as i love paranormal romances and vampires' vibes but this book did not hit the mark for me.
It was a bit flat and the relationship between Hazy, the main female character, and Godric, the vampire, happened too fast for my liking. I love to witness how the tension between MCs is building up - i was missing that in this book.
If you like romcoms in college settings with hot vampires, so you might enjoy this book.
