I adore Paul Rudd and Ant Man so this was a lot of fun to read. Thoroughly enjoyed myself from start to finish
Sigh. I was hoping this would be a book version of the Scott we know and love. And in some ways, it is. The humour is there, but so is a preachy tone that Disney seemed to have contractually insisted on being in all its content now. If I wanted a lesson for the day, I'd watch reruns of Jerry Springer.
I got given acces to this title when I was new to netgalley and didn't know that the pdfs in the app expired so I never got to read it. This was also before I realised my kindle doesn't render PDF documents successfully and thus I am unable to read them on my kindle.
I don't understand why the NetGalley shelf app has an expirey date on the titles on there.
I'm a big Marvel fan and found this a fun book to read and gives a bit more insight into the character of Ant-Man and his participation in the different adventures with the Avengers, but it didn't blow me away . Still worth a read though if you're a Marvel fan.
I do love Ant-Man so much, he's absolutely one of my favourite characters and my dad and I rewatch the Ant-Man movies all the time, so of course I had to read this! It did fall a bit flat - I was hoping that we'd get more in this than just recapping the movies, but we essentially only got a couple of new Ant-Man stories. However it is a very fun time and I just find it hilarious that I actually got to read the "in-movie memoir" from a Marvel film, it's just so random and bizarre I love it!
This was so fun! Amazing to read another ant man book! He’s such an under rated character in the marvel verse. This is going to be perfect for lovers and novices to the marvel verse!
Okay so I requested this book because it made me laugh that someone had actually written it. I really liked Ant-Man they're some of my favourite Marvel movies and I was curious as to what the book would actually be like. And honestly it captured his voice perfectly. There was no time when I was reading it that it sounded off or wrong. I was just reading it the whole time like yep this is Ant-man!
The only real qualms I have with it is the content. So as it's supposed to be a biography, I knew that it would go over some of what was in the films. But I felt it did a bit too much of it. I was sat there reading through what had happened in the final battle of Avenger's Endgame and was just so bored. I didn't need line by line breakdown of the action, I have watched that already!
And it was the same for everything. Every anecdote about the Avengers, every example he gave was something from the films. I really think that they could have slipped in a little bit of newly made up stuff just to reward us for our custom!
So honestly overall, it was a disappointment.
If you're a huge fan of ant-man and want to read it for the humour (of which there is plenty) and insights in to Scott's character then go ahead, it might be worth it for you. But it wasn't for me.
I absolutely adored this story. Was it the best book/memoir I've ever read? No, no it wasn't, but it is perfect for everyone and anyone who loves anything to do with Marvel and getting to know a bit more about Ant-man. I enjoyed reading the struggles of Scott and how he was juggling his life as a superhero and dad.
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen technical issues between net galley and kindle I can’t review this book because the connection between galley and kindle was having an issue so I don’t have the book on my kindle to read to be able to review and unfortunately it’s over the download period so I won’t be able to give this book a review, but I will be looking into reading this author physically in the future and buying his book because I was so so so looking forward to it reading it
This was such a fun book to read and it really did sound like it was Scott Lang telling me a story. I loved reading about the movies etc from his point of view and how he felt on his journey to becoming ant man.
I you're a marvel fan then this is a must read!

Out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Ant-Man or Scott Lang is my second favourite character after Scarlet Witch. So when I learned they were taking the biography/memoir from the universe and making it real (with a lot of help from Rob Kutner!) I was super excited. I was even more excited when I was given an e-arc to review. Let me tell you this memoir does not disappoint. It is an absolute must for fans of the MCU and or Scott Lang.
Told in Lang’s own words we get an honest account of his struggles and triumphs. From losing his job, doing time, being a divorced dad, becoming ant-man and ultimately an Avenger its all here. We have stories of battles won and lost. From the everyman turned super hero giving his official account of events he’s been part of including what happened between the Avengers and Thanos to how his shrinking down and going large really feels and ultimately how it feels to balance the roles of hero and dad. Sprinkled with his wit and wisdom gathered this is a tell all memoir that reminds you to look out for the little guy.
Okay so, slight spoiler, this might not be written by Scott Lang but rather Rob Rutner but let me tell you, Rob Rutner is one hell of a Scott Lang. It was easy to forget this was a meta memoir, that Scott Lang couldn’t possibly write this because unfortunately he’s not real but Rob Rutner captures Lang’s spirit and voice effortlessly which honestly is a skill I wish I had. The writing is so engaging, laid back and fun. It fits perfectly the memoir genre but more so it fits Lang. We have references among references to his past and adventures. It occasionally jumps a little between events but do we honestly think Lang WOULDN’T do that? I also love the photos inside. I know it’s silly but I adored how Cassie also plays such a big role in this memoir.
We get a little inside view, well Lang’s view, of the other Avengers and it works with how he’s interacted with them. For example, he focuses a bit more on Natasha than on Tony but he had more time with Natasha so it makes sense, to me at least! Let me tell you if you are a fan of the MCU you need this book, even if you don’t like Ant-Man (How could you not like Ant-Man?!). I liked this style personally since it made it more, well, personal and believable like Lang just remembered how something links to what he is discussing now.
Despite it being a fictional memoir set in a fictional universe it has some surprising moments where Scott’s wisdom can be applied to our world and every day life. It was a real joy to read and my only hope is we get an audiobook narrated by Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) to follow this. Once again Rutner is a master for creating this. Look Out For the Little Guy is a must for any MCU Fan.

This was just such a fun read! Scott’s narrative/perspective is just so entertaining I loved reading it.
It was fun to read more about his perspective through the Marvel movies/universe, and just made for an enjoyable and comical read a long!
Ant Man is probably my favourite Marvel superhero and the first movie is one of my favourite movies of all time so obviously I wanted to read this book when I found out it was made into a real book following the third movie.
I didn't expect much from this book as it is obviously just a movie collectors book which is a bit of fun and not intended to be a life changing novel, but honestly this book was so bad.
This book just retells every movie that Ant Man is in in the vaguest detail and the stories are all over the place. This book doesn't really follow the timeline of the movies and would mention something from a later film and then go backwards to a movie that came out before it and so I kept getting lost in what movie was being mentioned.
The chapters were all very random, like how there was randomly a chapter about Natasha's death but nothing but a line about Iron Man's death.
Obviously this book was intended to be a masterpiece but it really was poorly put together and is definitely more intended to be a collectors item instead of an actual readable book.
This was such a fun read and I enjoyed hearing about the events in the Marvel universe from Scott's perspective! I also liked how he reflected on the events of his life and the actions and consequences he faced.
I enjoyed the little life advice and self-help sections, along with the Frequently Asked Ant-Man Questions!
I do kinda wish that this had been an audiobook read by Paul Rudd though! That would have been epic.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Igloo Books for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
So this is a weird one to review, it's a memoir from Scott Lang in the context of the Marvel Universe.
I wasn't sure what to expect from the book but I love Marvel so figured would give it a go.
It's Scott telling the story covering the Ant Man movies, Civil War and End Game so there's a bit of going over those events and wee insights into what part Scott played. It also comes across a bit self helpy and introspective, with Scott reflecting on the impact of the decisions he made along the way and how these affected his life.
Moral of the story, you're never too small (or big) to make an impact.
Thanks to NetGalley and Igloo books for the chance to read and review this book early
I love all the Marvel films and when I saw that this book was actually real, I knew I had to read it!
Scott Lang, AKA Ant Man, has written a book about his life and his time with the avengers and it is full of advice and anecdotes that makes you feel as if he is talking straight to you. This is a brilliant book perfect for fans of Marvel and superheroes and it was fun to get the inside snippets and a perspective from a superhero on various missions.
Loved this book. I'm such a Marvel fan and when I realised that this book had been written I couldn't wait to read it. I laughed and reminisced about the movies and it reminded me of some things I'd forgotten about. If you don't know the movies you'll struggle with some insider jokes but nonetheless a good read.
"Look Out for the Little Guy!" promises readers an intimate and candid look into the life of Scott Lang, better known as Ant-Man, as he shares his struggles, victories, and the unique perspective of a real-life superhero.
The book's premise is intriguing, as it offers fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe a chance to delve deeper into the life of a character they've come to know and love. Scott Lang's journey from an ordinary person facing adversity to becoming an Avenger is undoubtedly one worth exploring. Readers can expect a mix of personal anecdotes, reflections on his superhero experiences, and insights into the challenges of maintaining a work-life balance as a father.
What sets this memoir apart is its potential to humanize a superhero. By sharing his story, Scott Lang can connect with readers on a personal level, making his character more relatable and engaging. His struggles with divorce, parenthood, and finding his place among the Avengers offer a refreshing departure from the grand battles and cosmic conflicts often associated with superhero narratives.
The promise of revealing behind-the-scenes details about epic battles and the interactions between the Avengers and Thanos adds an exciting layer to the book, offering fans a glimpse into the superhero world from a different perspective.
In summary, "Look Out for the Little Guy!" appears to be a captivating and insightful memoir that will resonate with fans of the Marvel universe. It has the potential to provide a deeper understanding of a beloved character while humanizing the superhero experience, making it a must-read for both comic book enthusiasts and those interested in personal narratives of triumph over adversity.
An absolute must read for Marvel fans!
This book was such a joy to read. I expected it to be full of nothing but witty one liners and sarcasm. But I was proven wrong. In the best way possible.
As a long term Marvel fan (films, characters and the comics/graphic novels) I was so excited when I was granted access to this ARC copy of Marvel Avengers Ant-Man: Look Out For The Little Guy. So thank you so much for the opportunity. It is very much appreciated.
Also, thank you on behalf of Marvel fans for a well written timeline of events from Scott Lang's point of view. It was a great trip down memory lane to be able to experience the magic of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a completely different yet creative way.
The writer of this book embodies the character of Scott Lang so well, I could literally hear Paul Rudd's voice in my head as I was reading it. I absolutely love that this is the exact book that Scott Lang refers to in the film Ant-Man and The Wasp Quantumania, word for word!
In all honesty this book didn't just give me joy but it also gave me some tears while reading it too. There were some very heartfelt farewells to certain heroes and the letter to Cassie Lang was just so beautiful. As a parent myself, this really tugged on the heartstrings.
I absolutely loved every second of this book and I cannot wait to purchase a physical copy when it is released.
A fun tie in to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I hope this gets an audiobook. An enjoyable read following Scott’s story and his advice.
