I love love love Asian food. It's easily one of my absolute favorite style of food. Asian food is usually packed with healthy proteins, grain and veggies. As someone who is trying to eat healthier and cook more of my own food, this was a great addition to my cookbooks. Nomnomnom!
The hardest thing about this book is picking what to make first. I suggest just starting at page one and try them all! There are plenty of photos to help you see what you are trying to achieve. These recipes are easy to follow and so flavorful.

The cookbook, overall, is a comprehensive collection that spans various Asian cuisines, promising a delightful journey through diverse flavors. However, my specific interest in Chinese recipes left me slightly disappointed as I struggled to find recipes that truly piqued my curiosity. One of the key aspects I appreciate about cookbooks is their ability to not only offer recipes but also to tell a story. "My Asian Cookbook" succeeds in providing cultural context and background information about the dishes, which adds depth to the culinary experience. The anecdotes and insights into the origin of certain recipes were a highlight, allowing readers to connect with the cultural significance of the dishes.
However, when it came to the Chinese section, I found the selection to be somewhat limited, and the recipes did not resonate with my personal taste preferences. While the cookbook covers a broad spectrum of Asian cuisines admirably, it might benefit from expanding its Chinese section with a more diverse range of recipes, ensuring that it caters to a wider audience.
On the positive side, the cookbook is well-organized, with clear instructions and appealing visuals that guide the reader through each step of the cooking process. The inclusion of alternative ingredients and substitution suggestions is helpful for those who may not have easy access to certain items.
In conclusion, "My Asian Cookbook" is a valuable resource for exploring various Asian cuisines, but it may fall short for individuals specifically seeking an extensive array of enticing Chinese recipes. I would recommend this cookbook to those interested in a broader Asian culinary experience, but for those on a quest for authentic and diverse Chinese recipes, additional exploration may be necessary.
I was SO excited to flip through this cookbook! I have been looking for a cookbook that showcased Asian recipes from various cultures and Jennifer Joyce's "My Asian Kitchen" does just that.
There's so many dishes and recipes that have caught my eye and have bookmarked. I'm most excited for the different stir-fries, baos and dumplings, and Asian-inspired desserts. In addition to the photo-filled pages and easy-to-follow recipes, it also includes drawings and guides to help you tackle the recipes that require a bit more skill.
I'd definitely recommend this cookbook to any and all foodie lovers looking to expand their Asian food cooking knowledge at home!
I loved the recipes in here. They were a great addition to my kitchen arsenal. I love cooking, and finding good recipes is difficult.
Straightforward and well written, this book presents many modern Asian dishes that can be prepared by almost all cooks. Simple explanations for somewhat complex dishes makes this type of cooking available to all through photographs and well documented recipes.
I love Asian cuisine, so knew I’d like this cookbook. There are lots of delicious ideas in here, and lots of helpful tips too. There’s a really good range of recipes, from quick and easy, to more complex. The instructions are really clear to follow, and the recipe photos are stunning. I can’t wait to getting in the kitchen, and test some of these dishes out!

Asian food is delicious but it is not always easy to make because many books do not explain how to prepare the dishes. This book is a really nice way to enjoy great recipes and learn some of the Asian techniques so everyone can explore the making of tasty Asian food.
The recipes are varied. Many classics and many Asian inspired recipes, particularly for the desserts. The book covers a large range of foods, from salads to onabes, through skewers, baos, gyozas, spring rolls, soups and more. The recipes are very well explained and the book is beautifully illustrated. I loved the mouth watering pictures and I think the drawings for the techniques and tips are great. Important basics are explained, especially the stocks. And the glossary provides lots of information on the ingredients, the very central part of getting these recipes right.
There are many recipes I will try, especially some I would have never dared to cook before. And the book is so nice, it makes me feel like cooking all the recipes, and the pictures are making me very hungry….

I really lean towards the flavors and cooking style in this cookbook.
There's the classic element mixed in with fresh and modern Asian takes.

This was my first time trying out a cookbook and I was worried that replicating these recipes would be challenging, however this was not the case at all. This is a great cookbook for beginners interested in asian cuisine. The recipes are diverse, simple, and the instructions are very clear. I also really appreciated the way the recipes were classified in categories not based on their origins, but rather on the type of cuisine. I ended up tried a version of the Korean Beef Ribs and the Apple Salad.
I think My Asian Kitchen really finds it's place in an oversaturated market, by walking the line between personal connection and actual recipe content.
I love that all of the dishes are based around the traditional comfort foods I've come to know but still have something unique and different. I've really enjoyed exploring and cooking quite a few of these dishes that I probably wouldn't have attempted on my own.
This is a nice primer on cuisine from various Asian countries. From how to prepare bao to different ways to fold dumplings, this covers major staples of Asian cuisine. It's a fun and creative guide.

Sections for starters, soups, curries, fried foods, grilled foods, wok fried, desserts, and everything in between. Beautiful pictures display a selection of the included recipes. Guides, glossary and index help the uninitiated avoid mistakes and know what to buy from their nearest Asian market. There is so much variety in Asian cooking and too many people are intimidated by this. This book makes this style of cooking seem more accessible. Grab a copy and start dabbling in making tasty morsels and mouthwatering meals today!
We love Asian food but I’ve always been hesitant on making it at home. After reading this book I can’t wait to try. I love the way the chapters are structured. And I want to make alllllll the bao!

Some really tasty recipes in here. I loved the Prawn Laska, Grilled Honey Soy Salmon with Citrus Soba Noodles, Grilled Coconut Prawns with Papaya Salsa, and the Devils FoodCake with Matcha Frosting. Looking forward to trying out some more of these recipes.

I’m always looking for Asian or Asian inspired recipes for my family. My husband and I love them, my child not so much. In this book I found a few recipes to try that are outside the typical Americanized dishes you get here. Some of the ingredients may be a little hard to find in some areas which may be a drawback to this book. The salmon with tamarind sauce looks amazing as do several of the noodle dishes.
I struggled reading the titles of the dishes so it was hard to decide if I would want to make any of them. I did read ingredients and some sounded interesting. I think my kids might like this cookbook more than I did. The instructions are clear, I just don't think I would make many of the dishes.
