I love Christmas and wanted to love this book. However it was very slow and lost my interest multiple times. I don’t think it’s a bad book. It not necessarily one that will keep your attention at all times.

This one is not just another Christmas story. This book has many characters with good hearts. There’s humour too.If you’re a fan of the enemies to lovers trope then you should definitely read this one.

Thank you @netgallery and @sagaegmont for this arc.

Beth is starting a new life with her son, George, and of course when she moves, she has to meet a grumpy, handsome man. They butt heads at first, but they slowly start to open ip to each other. I did feel like they were both stuck for the most of the story and didn't grow as characters. Tristan's mom was a great addition but it was a typical Christmas read. The narration was great.

3.5⭐ (story) Beth is a single mum to 6-year-old George, and she's opening up her own boutique. The handsome but aloof Tristan Trenouth is the owner of the property she's moving her store into. This story was cute. I didn't really connect with Beth or Tristan, but I loved Tristan's mom! The story was fairly predictable, but overall I enjoyed it. It was a fun holiday read.

4.5⭐ (audio) The narrator did a good job with the material she had to work with. I listen to A LOT of audiobooks, and this didn't stand out one way or the other, which (honestly) is a high compliment from me, as I'm picky about narrators!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced digital reader's copy (ARC) in exchange for an honest review!

‘Tis the season for all of the upcoming holiday novels, ready to be reviewed in advance! (And you can’t go wrong with a cozy Christmas romance).
The story follows single mum Beth as she starts a new life with her 6-year-old son George, opening her own boutique. It takes no time to encounter the gruff & handsome Tristan and safe to say, they don’t immediately hit it off. Eventually as they work together more, feelings begin to spark, just in time for the holidays. But after a rough past and hard start to adulthood, the real questions remains as to if Beth can allow herself to love and be loved.
This is a quick, cozy Christmas romance, and while very simple, there’s a lot left to be desired with the main characters who, even after reading this, it feels like there was no development with either one…same jealousy, nervousness, back and forth through much of the novel.
The narrator Carin Walker-Booth is great and really brings the realistic feeling of this taking place in a small English town.
Thank you to Saga Egmont Audio for the ARC in exchange for my honest review. The audiobook releases 9/5!
