This was a lovely village read featuring Kat and Jonah who were part of a close group years ago until a tragedy split them all up. Now they’re both single parents struggling to do the best for their children and come to realise they can both help each other out. Spending many hours together leaves them both questioning their changing feelings for the other but having both been hurt in the past and no desire to spoil the stability they now have for their children they’re hesitant to take things further,
I haven’t read the first book in this series but that didn’t spoil my enjoyment in any way, the village has a great community with fabulous characters and both Kat and Jonah had brilliant individual backgrounds and stories. This is a lovely lighthearted and uplifting read in a wonderful Yorkshire setting and a very warm community feel.
Unfortunately just an average 'cosy' romance - formulaic and predictable. Everyone gets a little bit of heartbreak as a backstory but of course everything works out perfectly.
