Thank you to Avon Books and Netgalley for providing me with the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is the second ARC I've read from Sarah Goodwin and I'm yet to be disappointed! Each character will have you questioning if you can trust them in equal measure and what their intentions are throughout the books. It keeps you gripped on how they will handle the situations they find themselves in.

The constant suspense and twists keep you going right to the very end! I couldn't wait to find out what happened and when I did, I wasn't expecting it which made this even better!!

Overall, an absolute cracker of a book and I can't wait to read more of Sarah's work!

This was the first book I have read by this author and although it didn’t grip me from the start, I enjoyed it. It was well written with strong characters, although some were not very likeable. There were parts of the book that fell a little flat and I found myself skim reading these parts; however, the plot has some twists and turns which keep you guessing.

I don't think anything will reach the heights of my love for Sarah Goodwin's debut novel Stranded. Every other book I've read from her has fallen flat, including this one. They're not bad by any means. The stories are always original and I like the writing style. They just never get there for me. Also, oddly I seem to gravitate towards every second book from this author so fingers crossed the next one better suits me.

This is a claustrophobic murder mystery with some really annoying and pretentious characters. I was interested to see it to the end but did feel a little bored getting through the slow burn parts and it felt redundant reading about the fake rich people.

This book was a page turner from beginning to end. A group of highly elite are on a yacht enjoying a dinner. Then they wake up the next morning to find out they are at sea. But they were always just supposed to stay docked. So what happened. Why are they at sea. And when weird things start to happen who is safe. Who is doing this and why? Would highly recommend. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I really enjoyed this book. Hannah is spending New Year's Eve on a luxury yacht moored in an Italian harbour. The yacht belongs to her wealthy friends and the party is way over the top in its luxury and opulence. Alcohol and drugs abound. So when Hannah surfaces the next morning and realises that the yacht has been freed from its mooring and they are floating out to sea she is terrified. However, things go from bad to worse and quickly become everyone's worst nightmare! This will keep you on the edge of your seat to the end.
Thanks to NetGalley for a preview copy.

The story revolves around a gripping locked-room mystery unfolding on a luxurious yacht as six university friends embark on a New Year's adventure. Tension begins to build almost immediately in The Yacht as the guests see their relationships fall apart. the day after the party, they find the yacht has been untied and is adrift in the sea with no fuel or radio. The urgency builds as the first person goes missing. Sarah Goodwin always tells a twisty, well-plotted story and this read did not disappoint!

My thanks to Avon Books UK, Sarah Goodwin and Netgalley.

3.5 Stars. Great setting and set up for a closed room thriller. Six characters, four shallow and instantly unlikeable and two on the fence at the start, made an interesting mix to ramp up the tension in several cleverly plotted situations where several characters reached extreme levels of loathing. While many aspects were believable, the boat drifting without being spotted was always playing at my suspension of disbelief. It would have been more interesting to make it more believable and reveal more depth to the characters and their behaviours. The pacing dipped a few times into a slow burn but also picked up into tense, entertaining drama. I will definitely read this author again. Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley UK for the ARC.

”The Yacht" by Sarah Goodwin is a gripping and suspenseful thriller that had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.
The story unfolds on a luxury yacht during a New Year's Eve celebration, quickly turning into a nightmare as the characters wake up to find themselves adrift in the open ocean with dwindling resources. The tension and suspense build with each page, keeping my interest to unravel the mystery.

Hannah, the protagonist, shines as a relatable character, navigating the treacherous waters not only of the open sea but also of complicated friendships. The vivid descriptions of the storm and the realistic portrayal of the characters' fears and tensions heightened the overall experience.
Goodwin skillfully weaves twists and turns, keeping the reader guessing until the shocking conclusion.
“The Yacht" is a rollercoaster of emotions, a testament to Goodwin's mastery in crafting thrilling narratives that always deliver the unexpected.
Highly recommended for anyone who loves a heart-pounding, unpredictable read.

Wow I may need a moment to catch my breath.

Simply addictive, claustrophobic, mind boggling action that kept me guessing throughout

Even when I wasn't reading, my mind was repeating to its that I need to find out who the murderer is.

And at no point did I guess just how wrong things would go once they started to go wrong. Ok I had a couple of tiny inklings that came true in the final reveals but I was never convinced I was right.

There are secrets galore to come out, as a group of old friends celebrate New Year together on a yacht.

i couldn't get enough of this book and Sarah Goodwin is now one of my out must read authors, as I'm astounded by each and every book I've read from her.

Just wow!

Thank you to Avon and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

I didn't really enjoy this one. The characters were shallow and cared more for their clothes and looks a d how much booze they could drink. Shame as I've enjoyed her others. Hopefully her next one is better. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

A glamorous night of partying on a yacht turns into a deadly nightmare…..

This book had me feeling so panicked and claustrophobic. I loved the “locked room” isolation vibes. There were times when I felt like I was holding my breath and so anxious to read ahead. This one is a bit of a slow burn because It takes awhile for the action to begin. The last 25% of the book is when things really started to get intense and out of control. This is a really intense story of survival and isolation.

Thank you Avon Books UK and NetGalley for the gifted copy!

I think this may be the best book I have read by Sarah Goodwin, the initial pace of the book was so fast I could hardly turn the pages quick enough..
The plot kept you on the edge of your seat and there were plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. A New Years Eve Party that goes very wrong and an invitaion for a girl who though she was with friends not enemies. A great read.

The characters aren't so much unlikeable as absolutely flimsy approximations of what unlikeable characters may be. The premise it just a bit too preposterous.

This was brilliant start to finish psychological thriller by Sarah Goodwin, that had lots of twists. Absolutely fantastic, unputdownable, page-turner and this book had it all.

Who will sink or swim? loved the plot, kept me guessing. I was surprised at the outcome

Highly recommended

I really enjoyed this read.. it has plenty of twists and turns throughout with edge of your seat suspense. As there are only a few characters in it, that makes it an easy read. The story itself was very good and the setting was my type of thing as it’s in one location. The characters were interesting and the style of writing was perfect. I have read a few books by this author, I haven’t been disappointed by any of them. I would recommend this to anyone who likes reading psychological thrillers.

I do love a good stranded thriller, and this book certainly delivered. Overall, it was an interesting read which left my heart pounding in places. Let’s dissect my final thoughts!

Firstly, I felt that the overall setting of the yacht was very well crafted. The author cleverly brought in the different characters emotions, which built up an extremely tense atmosphere. This subsequently helped build a really tense and believable setting.

Secondly, I didn’t like a single one of these characters and I believe that it is a good thing! There was such a mix of personalities and wealth, however not a single character came across as likeable. I did start to warm towards Hannah at the start, but she did start to grate on my nerves towards the middle of the story and ultimately ended up being quite dull. I did like how the story ended for her though, and thought that it was a very apt way to wrap up the story.

The plot and writing itself varied. The pace was a bit of a mixed bag throughout the book, both dipping and picking up in places. I also found some aspects of the book quite predictable, however it was an enjoyable read overall.

The morning after an exclusive New Year's Eve party on a luxury yacht, six friends awaken to find the boat drifting in the middle of the ocean with no fuel, no way to contact the outside world, and very little food or water. Then one of them goes missing. I loved the premise, but the book gets off to a very slow start. The characters, except for one, are extremely wealthy and superficial. Most of them are mean. They're not resourceful when it comes to surviving the situation they find themselves in. Midway through, the suspense starts to pick up and I found myself enjoying the read, but I struggled to get that far and didn't enjoy this one nearly as much as I enjoyed Stranded by the same author.

A 'locked room' situation with a bunch of unlikeable characters. Drifting from land with no fuel, no food, and no ways of communicating to anyone on land. Was it deliberate?

It's a slow burn read where you are drip fed the information throughout the storyline. Hannah was the most likeable probably because she was just invited to just make everyone else feel good about themselves.

I find these styles of books to be hit and miss, but this was a hit for me.
