✨ psychological thriller,drama , small town.

✨grieving family went on a hike to a small town of north wales to scatter some ashes. But when they felt the weather is getting worsen they have to go back to the nearest cabin/pub.
Kevin is the owner of the pub and wants them to get out as soon as possible. Having the family with a pregnant lady it’s hard for them to go especially to be snowed in by the weather.
All settling well up until secrets and lies has been uncover. And who’s is the man that is lurking around!?

✨ definitely a good read! Few chapters are insane already which is addictive up until the end.

Nicely written book which was intriguing at different points.
Sometimes, action could have been moved on a bit quicker.

Such an amazing pleasure to read Amanda’s books and this one was so good, simply brilliant. Get a good nights sleep as it is very hard to put down. Edge of your seat. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review an early copy of this book.

This was a great psychological thriller full of twists and turns and the conclusion didn't disapoint at all.
The story was told by each characters points of view, which I personally quite like.
The thriller was set in the Welsh mountains, where a family were going to scatter the ashes of a daughter/mum/sister. The snow storm sets in and so the story begins.
Thank you to Netgalley and HarperCollinsUk and Harpercollins fiction for an early copy of this book to enjoy.

Gosh there are so many twists at the end of the book, reverting. What should have been a simple excursion to scatter her mums ashes ended up being something more when snow meant that they were stuck in the hotel and couldn't leave. The truth will come out eventually but at what cost.
Brilliant story, loved it.

Nightfall is a captivating psychological thriller packed with lies, secrets, and family drama.

I devoured it in a single sitting and loved the slow build of suspense and intrigue. The pacing was on point and the various twists, turns and red herrings paved the way to a satisfying conclusion. The characters were nuanced, and like all good thrillers, no one is who they seem at first impression.

I love a thriller in a remote setting, and the fictional Welsh mountainous locale made for a deliciously dark backdrop. This is the first of Amanda Brooke’s books that I’ve read and I can’t wait to pick up her others.

Thank you HarperCollins UK and NetGalley for a copy of this book. Opinions expressed are my own.

Brilliant! How Amanda Brooke has passed me by I have no idea, she writes exactly the type of psychological thriller I love. The joy of this of course, is all her previous novels are there just waiting for me.

Paige and her family have visited a remote part of Wales to scatter her mum, Ellen's, ashes. An intense snow storm hastens their departure from a viewing point on the mountain back to a pub lower down. In the car park are two cars, but other than the pub's owner no one else is around. Who does this car belong to? So begins a fast paced thriller with twists, turns and red herrings a plenty. The tale is narrated by each of the characters in turn, leading to different points of view as the tale unfolds. The insights into the guilt and grief each of the main characters feel about Ellen and her death is well written and adds another dimension to a very well crafted story. Plenty of curve balls kept me intrigued right to the end.

Happy to give this a full 5 stars.

With many thanks to NetGalley, Harper Collins UK and Harper Fiction for allowing me to read this advanced reader copy in return for my honest and unbiased review.

My thanks to HarperCollins UK, HarperFiction and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘Nightfall’ written by Amanda Brooke in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Following the tragic death of Ellen, her family consisting of her husband, mother, daughter, sister and brother-in-law climb to the platform at Mynydd Plentyn to scatter her ashes. Bad weather descends and they’re forced to abandon their plan, but there’s a stranger following them who knows a secret.

‘Nightfall’ is a well-written family drama that’s set in a remote location with suspense that increases the longer the family are stranded by the deep snow that’s caused them to seek refuge at the local inn. The character descriptions are good, as is the atmosphere that surrounds them, and there are enough twists and turns to keep me reading. But for some reason I couldn’t get as involved in ‘Nightfall’ as I’d been in the two previous novels I've read by this author, but this is purely my opinion and we all look for something different in a novel. It won’t stop me from looking forward to reading her next one.

Nightfall was an intense family thriller, filled with lies and family drama.
Paige and her family is up a mountain in Wales to scatter her mothers ashes, when a storm arrives, they need to get off the hill quickly. When they arrives back at the car park, the weather has turned and they need to stay at the cafe/house. There are two cars in the car park, but only one is theirs. Who is driving the other car?
Really enjoyed reading this book, read it in one sitting, the chapters flow easily with each of the characters sharing their side of the story. Can’t fault this 5star read.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy.

An absolute page turner! This is my first read by Amanda Brooke and I definitely want to go back and read more of her work.

This has multiple red herrings, suspicious characters and twists that had me reeling. I also ended up making a lot of wrong guesses as the book progressed which made it more interesting. The author fleshes out the multiple characters quite well with the multiple perspectives. She tied up their stories quite well to bring out the thriller and mystery.

The locked room mystery and isolation are well depicted. The writer uses the visuals brilliantly to bring in the remote location and atmosphere. A gripping thriller that has themes of family, grief, love and revenge. It also has several other themes which are not mentioned to avoid spoilers. Recommend!

Thank you HarperCollins UK, HarperFiction and NetGalley for this e-arc in exchange of my unbiased review.

Another amazing book from Amanda Brooke. Nightfall is a fast paced thriller set in a snowstorm in the Welsh mountains. It really has a bit of everything you could want from a good book. The characters take turns to narrate the chapters giving the reader different POV of the ongoing situation and this really works in keeping up the pace of the narrative. The plot has numerous twists and turns and the final twist beats them all. The only thing I would take issue with is Sue's delivery of the baby. As a retired midwife I find it very doubtful that as a renal nurse she would be able to vaginally assess her daughter's progress. This is a skill that takes a long time to learn to do accurately but for the sake of the narrative I suppose most readers wouldn't even notice! A great book well worth a 5* review.

I’ve been a fan of Amanda Brooke since reading Yesterday’s Sun in 2012. ( In fact, it was my very first e-book that I bought ).
Since then, I’ve read everything this author has written and so far I’ve not been disappointed with any of them.
I sometimes find when authors have been writing/ publishing continually over a few years, that the writing can “drop off”, or plot lines and characters become indistinguishable from one another. Not in this case though.

I’m very happy to say that Amanda Brooke is one of the authors who are consistent in the quality and depth of her work. Each book I read from her has that brand new feeling. I’m immersed into new plots, meeting complex and well written characters.
This one is no exception, I found it well thought through and written with the author’s usual flowing style, attention to detail and execution.
Not only would I recommend this one, but also, all of her previous works. If you’ve not read her books before, you are in for an absolute treat!

I have read a few books from this author and always enjoyed them, this was no exception. It was extremely well written, slightly different to her other reads in my opinion

The storyline was good with excellent characters, not all likeable I thought. I got drawn into this book from the beginning and I can recommend.

Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Collins for this ARC which was a pleasure to read.
