I loved this book!! It was fabulous. It wasn't just a love story - it was so much more, we had comedy, suspense and more!! I thought that the book was really well written and it just seemed to flow so wonderfully.
I found that I quickly became fond of our main character Daisy - who was a real strong ass woman who was also a member of the grammar police! Jackson was another firm favourite from the off - I mean what type of doctor does graffiti?
However I think it is safe to say that Robbie absolutely stole the show - some of the parts with him in had me in absolute stitches. He is one very wise 11 year old!!
I loved how there was so many different parts to the story, including Daisy's landlord and ex-partner trying to ruin her business. I loved the ending too - however I do still have questions.... my burning 2 would be - did Daisy see the picture and did Robbie get his skateboard lol.
This book was joyful and heartfelt, if not a bit slow to get started! Had such a wonderful theme of small town pride + togetherness, my only comment is that I consistently dislike the miscommunication trope that was evidenced in the second half!
I really enjoyed reading this lighthearted fast read. There’s friendship, romance and humor. Great character development with Daisy and Jackson. This is a true romcom with a lot of funny parts - some I chuckle out loud (which I never do)! I do wish there was more spice but that’s ok. I didn’t read the Recipe of Love series prior to this one, so I requested it from the library!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Thank you to NetGalley and Anni Rose for this eARC in return for an honest review.
I enjoyed this book. I feel like it was a good romcom to read especially considering the main characters' dynamics and the role the side characters played in the story. I found myself laughing quite a lot while reading it. The romance was good even though not my favourite. It took me a bit to get fully into it but when I did, I have to admit I had a good time. Plus, Jackson was a good love interest. But Daisy was an amazing FMC.
I rarely give below a three star review but unfortunately this one just didn’t do it for me. I felt like it was all over the place. A salon owner meets a doctor turned graffiti artist while her thug landlord tries to sell her building out from under her. Family drama between our FMC Daisy and her sister. Daisy’s nephew Robbie was perfection. All of the townspeople were great.
I picked it up for the cute cover and description but it just didn’t live up for me. I expected romance of which there was minimal. There was quite a bit of drama and deception with bad guys and a love triangle. I was expecting a quick read but the chapters were quite long and dragged out. I think the premise had a lot of promise but it just missed the mark for me.
This started out with a fun meet cute and was a lighthearted story. When a couple of bad guys trying to make things tough for Daisywith her growing business . Jackson was great with having been there at the right time always, but Robbie stole the show.
A cute book filled with humor, romance, and a little suspense. The friendships in this book give you all the feels while reading it. The characters are engaging and lovable. The book has a convoluted yet entertaining plot, a lovable dog, gorgeous doctor, and I can't forget Daisy, the lovely beauty shop owner. The book was very engaging; however, by mid-book I knew how the plot would play out. Even though I knew how it would end, I am very glad I read the book. #RECIPEFORMRBANKSY #NetGalley #romanceread
Loved this romance book got me in my feels! Couldnt put it down and it was just super sweet! Easy read, thank you
Really good romance gave me all the feels and the ending was just perfect ❤️ Jackson he's the perfect bookish boyfriend.
I love this! What a cute quick read.; perfect for summer days. I loved the relationship between the two main characters and the silly parts that made me laugh out loud!
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for an honest review!
Oh my what a beautiful sweet story. Once I started I didn’t want to put it down. I Adored the characters I love the story everything was sweet and perfect. Fab for a summer read.
I did not enjoy the writing of the book. While the premise surely has a lot of promise I just did not feel the writing lived up to it. The sentences were long and unnecessarily confusing, and the characters' had too many unrealistically romantic thoughts about one another almost too soon after meeting. I love romance and read a lot of it...so I'm not looking for reality but this was a bit much.
This book was 3.5 Stars for me. I see the appeal in it and believe that many people would enjoy reading it. The characters were a lot of fun and very appealing. Daisy was so sweet and easy to fall for, Jackson a fun hero (doctor with a darkside) but the true hero here was the tenacious Robbie! I loved him, he definitely stole the story. For me, the book lost its appeal quickly though. It was so slow, the story felt like it dragged on and on and I struggled to get through it. Second, I am American and I struggled heavily with the dialect. I did not know what a lot of terms and phrases were and I had to look them up to understand what was going on. Last, the dual 3rd person POV was hard for me to follow, especially because the POV would often change mid-chapter and I struggled to follow along. Overall, the story was cute and the characters were loveable but it simply wasn't a style I prefer.
"Recipe for Mr. Banksy" is a delightful and heartwarming tale that skillfully combines humour, romance, and a dash of unexpected connections. Daisy, a beauty therapist facing a series of unfortunate events in her life, and Jackson, a trainee doctor with a penchant for street art, couldn't be more different. Yet, fate has a way of weaving their paths together in the most entertaining and heartwarming manner.
Anni Rose weaves a charming narrative that got a few chuckles out of me and had me rooting for the endearing characters. Daisy's journey of self-discovery and determination to save her business is both relatable and inspiring. The book not only explores the ups and downs of love but also showcases the power of friendship and community support, with characters like Elvis and Robbie stealing the show.
The book offers a delightful escape into a world where opposites attract, and love and laughter prevail. A nice pick for those in search of a feel-good romance with a healthy dose of humour and heart. Thanks to NetGalley for this enjoyable read.
An enjoyable story that made me laugh out loud several times. Interesting to see how all the pieces of the puzzles were put together. And of course Robbie was a gem of a character.
However.., it was rather flat regarding diversity when it comes to skin color, sexual orientation, religion, history, cultural background, income (or lack of), and chronics. It doesn't have to be a theme, but people of color, someone in a wheelchair, or with overweight, or being gay, or being non-binary could have been casually mentioned. Unfortunately, I could add that to a lot of reviews on books I've read recently...
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of the book.
The fifth instalment in Anni Rose’s Recipes for Life collection will have you rooting for Daisy. A beauty therapist having a bad day, she crosses paths with an amateur Banksy (and professional doctor!) and fate keeps them in each others orbit. Another cosy cute read from Rose, full of life and love.
Daisy is a beauty therapist who just has the messiest break up.... Jackson is a trainee doctor who does street art to help him relax.... They are total opposite that shouldn't work... However, fate throws them together...
I love Daisy and Jackson together. So much humour in the book. I love the subtleness of the romance in the book. The supporting characters are terrific too. Very enjoyable book.
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.
I didn't put the book down once! Humour, deceit and romance with a strong, independent female main character - what more could you ask for?
The characters were well written to the point that I actually hated Steve and Mark. I adored Elvis and Robbie. The relationship between everyone at the salon was lovely and everyone's desire to help each other is something everybody should strive for in life.
