Unfortunately this book wasn’t for me. A lot of it seemed to be the female MC Phoebe waffling on about really mundane things like cleaning, the contents of her fridge, and her baking. It definitely could have done with less detail and focus on this stuff and more on any kind of plot. I didn’t feel connected to the story or the characters and you don’t really get to know any of the characters, or have much of Phoebe interacting with them, because the majority of the book is her internal monologue and whilst some of it follows the intrigue of a murder, it didn’t grip me. There was also a supposed romance between her and Rich but it was written really strangely and as is the theme for this book, mostly through Phoebe’s internal monologue than dialogue between the pair.

This had me hooked, I couldn't put it down
The characters are brilliant and the plot was great

My only issue is it felt too short, the abrupt ending took me by surprise and I wish we got more

Such a unique book, I loved the plot, and oh my god the characters we're so amazing!! I definitely will be recommending it!!

This has been marketed as a romance, but definitely comes across as more a chick lit cosy crime. While not bad, it's definitely not got the depth and range that other titles of a similar ilk have in the current market.
