We don't read masses of non-fiction but this was such an accessible and interesting read. With climate change and saving the planet being something that weighs heavily on our minds as a family, this was the perfect book to inspire us and bring hope to a situation that often feels overwhelming and doom-heavy.
The layout of the book was excellent. The way it was broken down into the five different categories of the Earthshot prize, with a foreward for each section, made it reader-friendly and easy to understand, We didn't know much about the prize at all and delighted in discussing all positive actions that have been taken across the globe that we weren't aware of. To read something that contained good news rather than bad lifted our spirits and encouraged us to keep going with our attempts to help because it DOES make a difference. Using examples of such young entrepreneurs was particularly inspiring to my children and we particularly loved reading about Costa Rica and other less developed countries who are putting us to shame with their innovativeness and desire to change the future.
This is a book that should be in every school, library and home. This is a book we will be talking about for a long time, we will recommend it widely and it has encouraged us to read more non-fiction in general.
