This is a sweet fade to black love story and I really enjoyed it (I usually prefer spicy, so I was surprised how much I didn't miss it here). The little bit of business intrigue was a nice change up, too. Lovely, quick read

The Home Share combines two of my favourite tropes - forced proximity and fake dating.

This was a cute read with characters that were entertaining enough to keep me interested.

I loved Eleanore and her gaggle of friends. I could read a whole book just based around them.

This is a short book, and at times it moved quite quickly, but overall a fun read.

I really enjoyed this story. After having to move out of her home due to no fault of her own Evie’s elderly neighbour Eleanore asks her to move in with her. Her grandson Jake thinks she is taking advantage of his grandmother and ends up house sharing too. The banter between all of them is very good, and then the fake dating between Evie and Jake becomes more involved a happy ending is natural.

Overall, it was a cute read, but I felt like the characters weren't very well developed, and the story felt a bit rushed in certain parts of the book. The plot had potential, I just think it could have been handled differently.

DNF’d at 23%.

Honestly this book just bored me. Seven chapters in and absolutely nothing happened. The characters are very bland and don’t seem to have much depth and I just didn’t enjoy the plot. Not the book for me.

This is a first time read for me by this author and I would be glad to read more of her work. The home that Evie is renting is being sold so she needs to find a new place to live. Her elderly neighbor, Eleanor, could really use the rent money, so they come to an agreement and Evie moves in with her. At the same time, Eleanor's grandson, Jake is back on business, and he is suspicious of Evie, so decides to move in with his grandmother as well to make sure Evie doesn't take advantage of her. It's a bit crowded with the three of them living together, a d Jake seems to be in the way of everything. But Evie can't deny how sweet he is with his grandmother. When Jake's business is in jeopardy, she agrees to help a d becomes his fake girlfriend. But the line between fake and real quickly begins to blur, and although they are ready to embrace it, there are a few obstacles they will need to first overcome.
A quick and fun read with an enjoyable plot and likable characters. This was a sweet and charming that I was glad to have the opportunity to read.
I received a complimentary copy from BooksGoSocial and Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

The Home Share is the first book I read by the author Sally Clements and for me this was an okey read.

In the beginning I had a hard time getting in to it and I was thinking of DNF it because the story felt like something was missing but instead to DNF I took a break. After my break from this book it slowly got better and after a while I felt like it is an okey read so why not continue reading it.

The characters in this book didn't really spoke to me although I really liked Jakes grandma (she seemed like a fun old lady to know).

I usually like reading this kind of books with a grumpy character and fake dating but for some reason this one didn't lived up to my expectations.

If you are a person that enjoys fake dating, characters that are a bit grumpy and doesn't have a journey or the description appeals you then this might be a good read for you.

I am thankful for have read this one since the author is new to me and I actually look forward reading something else by her despite this one wasn't really my cup of tea.

Thank you to Sally Clements, BooksGoSocial & NetGalley for the ARC of The Home Share in exchange for my honest review.

I really liked this book. It was a quick easy read and I loved the characters. Evie needed a place to live and Eleanore gave her just that. I love that Cleo connected the two of them and they became like family. Eleanore is a sweet grandma who has a very busy daily life with her various clubs. I can tell from the very start of the book that Jake is such a kind hearted man and I love that you continue to see that throughout the book.

This was my first book by Sally Clements, but it definitely won’t be my last! I look forward to reading more from her in the future!

I gave this book an honest try, but I just couldn't get into it. The characters didn't resonate with me in any way and the story started off pretty boring. I read up to about 25%, where the MMC and FMC finally meet and start to have their enemies-t0-lovers flirtation. It fell flat for me and I knew at this point that I would only be forcing myself to finish.

This is only getting 1 star because I didn't finish the book. You may feel more connected to these characters than I did, so if the description sounds like something you'd be interested in, give it a try!

Perfect grumpy sunshine trope. Evie is in a bit of a bind and she moves in with her neighbor. Unfortunately her grumpy grandson is also staying there and it makes for a funny, yet heartwarming story. These two are drawn to each other from the start and as the plot thickens and secrets are revealed, they must ask each other if they are truly meant to be together. The characters are the stars of this book. Each one is developed in such a way that you almost become part of the story. The grandmother and all her quirks are just as funny. This is my first book by this author but it wont' be my last.

This romance had an interesting premise, and I appreciated the atypical professions of the leads. But honestly, I found the side characters more interesting and more consistent. A lot of the tension in the book seemed forced or due to character motivations that seemed inconsistent, sometimes from within a single paragraph. I'm typically a big fan of the forced proximity and fake dating tropes, but this book unfortunately didn't work for me.

I did not finish this one, it was not for me, I couldn't relate to the characters, and just did not care for the story.

Evie and Jake meet while Evie is living with Eleanor, Jake's grandma. I didn't mind the book but feel there were a lot of loose ends... like what happened to Global, how does Evie and Jake's family take it with them living with Eleanor. Jake's mom's involvement in everything...etc.

This is just tough to read. Everything is laid out so literally, and reads almost as if step one, step two, step three in the paragraphs. A whole lot of characters and suddenly no real introductions or anything about them. The transitions between POVs is nonexistent.

Many thanks to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial in exchange for my honest review.

To summarize, there are three main characters to this story - Evie, a down-on-her-luck twentysomething forced to relocate because she's outpriced in her own neighbourhood; her elderly neighbor Eleanore, who offers her a place to live, and Jake, Eleanore's distrustful grandson.

I was a little bit let down after reading this one especially since the general premise is kind of like catnip to me. There's nothing that's more fun than romantic hijinks between a distrustful man, feeling protective of a loved one, and the woman he so deeply distrusts. The characters were fine but I felt like they were deeply surface-level - I don't think I got to know anyone that well at all. I appreciate a good third-person perspective but I think it's important if you're choosing that POV, that the audience still feels immersed in what's happening. I think having a separate POV for Eleanore as well, didn't really lend the book to succeed with me.

I did think the plot was fun, though! It was kind of a sweet love story and overall, generally a fun time. It was a quick read, and while the story felt rushed in some places, the dynamic between Evie and Jake felt natural and sweet.

Evie has just moved in with the 85yr old Eleanore next door when she meets Eleanore's grandson, Jake. He also happens to be the person who got roared at by her "Duck" tour bus, making him spill his coffee all over himself right before a big meeting.

The story is told in a dual point of view but in the third person, which normally I don't like but it worked for this story and there was no confusion at any point as to who's POV we were reading from. Evie and Jake start off in a pretend relationship in order to impress Jake's clients but it quickly turns into something real for both of them, but as neither are particularly good at talking about their emotions and Jake is distracted dealing with fraudulent activity in the company he works for, there are plenty of misunderstandings.

I think my favourite character in the book though, was Eleanore. She was brilliant and everything you could wish for in a grandmother - she should definitely get her own book!

I enjoyed this book a lot. It was a light-hearted, easy read where both characters clearly want each other and without too much drama are able to find their way to a relationship that works.

A cute and quirky novella. Very fast paced with a few plot holes and some things completely ignored. However, I very much enjoyed this romcom and would have loved for it to be a bit longer.

Evie needs shelter. Eleanore needs rent money. Jake needs to mind his own business.
So basically, the home Evie is renting is going to be sold, so she has to move however she’s unable to find anywhere that will allow pets and within her price range. So Evie moves in with Eleanore her elderly neighbour.
Eleanore grandson Jake is back in Dublin due to business, and starts getting suspicious of Evie taking advantage of his grandmother and he decides to move in with them.
When Jake's business deal threatens to fall apart, Evie agrees to help, and finds herself neck deep in a fake relationship with a guy who's increasingly irresistible. Before long, hearts get tangled. When lies are exposed and the truth blows up in their faces, will there be anything left worth salvaging?

It could have been better! If you’re looking for a short read or want to boast your reading goal then maybe this would be good… I liked the premise but I think the story was definitely rushed and maybe there could’ve been a few more chapters, only because the book didn’t feel finished? because to me it felt rushed, not much character development and some loose ends.
