If you’re looking for a cosy winter read full of festive baked delights, community spirit and a few sparks of romance then this should go to the top of your list. This isn’t the first trip to Heritage Cove or the Bakery (in fact book 3 was set at The Twist and Turn Bakery) and is actually the 6th book in the series but it can be read as a standalone if you’ve not read the others.

There are some heartwarming and sensitive moments in this book around having/not having kids but Helen approaches them in such a natural and caring manner that your heart goes out to each character.

If this isn’t your first trip to Heritage Cove then you’ll see lots of familiar faces as all of the residents get a few mentions, I always find this a comfort with series books as you instantly feel the kinship and like your back in a familiar place.

It’s not all plain sailing (notice the pun) for the main characters in this book - Celeste from the bakery and Quinn, who is the new owner of the Copper Plough - as it’s fair to say they’ve both got a few things they’re trying to overcome. I don’t think anyone could deny the chemistry and sparks between the two of them but Celeste is determined that it can’t be any more than friends this time, even though we all know they’d make an amazing couple!!!

Another fab read from Helen that as always has left me wanting to read even more from her, this time it’s also made me very hungry for a mince pie or two!!!

My Thoughts: this was my first time visiting Heritage Cove and I can tell you I will be going back to read the rest, I absolutely loved this!

The characters felt real and genuine, like they could be a person you met on the street and meet up with them for a coffee!

The only think about Heritage Cove is that the residents don’t like change, so the fact that the owners of The Copper Plough are leaving and selling up had them all on tenterhooks whilst they wait to meet the new owners…

What Celeste doesn’t expect is to see a blast from her past back in the Village, but is he there to stay or is it just another flying visit?

I loved the whole will they won’t they aspect of this book and watching them discover each other again was just lovely, I felt the need to know where the story would take them which made this book a one sitting read for me!

The issues dealt with in this book were done so in a sensitive way, but without making them small or feel unimportant which means the representation will be appreciated by readers who are in a similar situation.

Absolutely recommend this book, it does work as a stand alone. I was left feeling like I didn’t get some of the subtle references made about other characters, but that didn’t take away from the story at all & left me intrigued to give the previous books a read at some point.

I love a great cozy small-town romance and Helen Rolfe delivered!! This is the first book I've read by the author and intend to check out her back list, as I didn't realize this book is part of a standalone series.
I love the sense of community in the small town of Heritage Cove. The members all felt like a family and show up for each other in their time of need. I wish I lived there!
I love how Helen handled sensitive and serious issues in such a respectful manner.
I loved the buildup and tension from Celeste and Quinn it made their story so much better!! I truly felt for Quinn as he was navigating such big life changes. And the way Celeste proceeded so slowly before making any decisions about their relationship (no spoilers).
Thanks to Net Galley for the opportunity to read Christmas Nights at the Star and Lantern

I really loved the coziness of the town and quirkiness of the characters.
A beautiful story of hope and love.
I have to say just reading about the smells from the bakery made me want to go right out and visit my local bakery!
I wish I would have read the previous books in the series. I did not realize this was part of a series. I would like to go back and read the previous books.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

The sense of community in this book shone through. The reader was drawn in from the start!
A really enjoyable story with great characters and a brilliant storyline. Some serious topics were included but Helen handled them all sensitively . A really enjoyable book I can highly recommend. I didn’t want it to end

Discover the magic of Christmas Nights at the Star and Lantern by Helen Rolfe.

Helen’s writing style is captivating, immersing me into village life so much I felt as though I was part of the story.

Trust me, you won’t be able to put it down.

Heritage Cove is one of my favourite places to visit, I have friends there and having a long overdue catch up with them was just the tonic!

There's a fantastic sense of community and Christmas spirit, the characters are always lovely and I definitely could relate to Quinn and his behaviour, my partner has combat PTSD too.

Although this is the sixth in the Heritage Cove series, it can read as a standalone, but as it's such a wonderful series, why would you do that?

Highly enjoyable festive fiction.

No one likes change so when Heritage Coves only pub the Star and Lantern is sold and the name is changed the villagers wonder who has bought it and what else they are going to try to do to it
Celeste runs the bakery with her sister Jade
Quinn and his brother Eddie have just bought the pub
Celeste and Quinn had a brief holiday romance years before when Quinn was in the Navy and they haven’t seen or spoken to each other since
Will Celeste and Quinn re connect or has too much happened ?

So happy to be back in Heritage Cove, I love this series and Helen Rolfe always makes each visit a pure delight. I love catching up with the characters , it’s like connecting with old friends, but don’t worry if this is your first Heritage Cove book, this can definitely be read as a stand-alone story, all the books can.

I really enjoyed this story and I thought the chemistry between Celeste and Quinn was wonderful, it was so full of tension, you could feel the burn. I loved the fact Quinn wasn’t full of false bravado, could admit he needed help and the relationship with his brother was just perfect.

I enjoyed the focus on second chances, love and friendship , but I loved even more the issues it deals with issues such as mental health, PTSD and women’s right to choose/freedom and does it with care and is so well handled. This is another great addition to the Heritage Cove series, full of warmth, love and hope, a really uplifting seasonal read.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This was my third visit to Heritage Cove and once again a really enjoyable visit! I love baking and Christmas and the community feeling which is so strong in these books. If you have read other books from this series it will feel like being back with friends as well as making new friends. If you are completely new to this series, it will simply feel like you are making a whole lot of new friends at once!

There are a lot of special characters in Heritage Cove. Celeste was a little quiet and a new to me character, but her attraction to Quinn was crystal clear, the question was just would her ideas of what she had pictured her life like change now that Quinn is back again? It took me a little longer to warm to Celeste, perhaps because she was so quiet, but I ended up loving both her and Quinn and I was sad when the story came to an end. If you ask me it could have gone on quite a few more chapters!

Barney was very present again in this story and he was just as wonderful as always. The village grandpa figure... someone we could all do with in our lives!

This is a standalone in the Heritage Cove Series. I haven't read any of the series but this did not detract from the book at all.

The story focuses on Celeste and Quinn who had a holiday fling one summer. Now, Quinn and his brother have bought the local pub and they meet again. Celeste is completely thrown by this.

There is a fantastic range of characters in the book and I enjoyed getting to know them all. With Heritage Cove being a small village, the sense of community really shone through. I loved how the locals all looked out for, and helped, one another.

Although this is a lovely lighthearted read there are a couple of serious topics covered which I felt was handled in a sensitive manner.

I would definitely recommend this book and I shall look out for the others in the series.

Each of the Heritage Cove stories can be read as a standalone, but it does help to have read some of the series if you are to understand the relationships between the characters. This story centres on Celeste and her mixed feelings when she is reunited with someone from her past. Driven by her career, she has made some hard decisions about her future which seem to block her from forming deeper relationships. She has a lot of thinking to do. Quinn has returned to the village but finds that he cannot leave some issues in the past. He needs the support of his family.

The community of Heritage Cove are at the centre of the story. Concerned that the local pub is about to be taken over by newcomers, they have to tread a fine line between interference and giving advice. I'm not sure how the new publicans kept their patience at times! Barney is an important component in the village and has some health issues to cope with. The community pulls together to celebrate the festive season and it was those parts that I enjoyed the most. Full of delicious Christmas sights and sounds, it is just the book to get you in the mood for some December celebrations.

In short: Romance, friendship, family community all tied up with a huge Christmas bow.

What’s not to love about a Helen Rolfe Christmas book! Set back in Heritage Cove the book centres round the new owners of the Star and Lantern.
When Celeste from The Twist and Turn Bakery meets the new owners she realises one of the brothers is Quinn who she had a brief romance with a few years ago it brings back all her old feelings about how she feels about family life.
The book is full of the aroma of mulled wine and fresh made Mince Pies. A beautiful seasonal read for fans of Heritage Cove and Christmas.
Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of this Yuletide book.

4.5 stars
Reading a Helen Rolfe book is like being wrapped in a cosy blanket - full of wonderful characters and I’ve
loved being back at Heritage Cove.
This is a story of love and hope - and although our main characters in Celeste and Quinn have their own relationship to work through, the story is also about the others in the community and how they pull together to support eachother when needed. Helen’s writing is so descriptive and I could easily picture the Christmas settings in around the cove and the smells from the bakery kept me wanting more.

It is a story about a close community full of vibrant businesses. The sense of community is believable in this story, and the change of ownership at the pub causes disquiet among the villagers. Celeste, part-owner of the bakery, is also affected by the pub's new occupants in a personal way, as Quinn, someone she had a passionate affair with years before, returns. Celeste and Quinn have undeniable chemistry, but both have secrets. Their romantic path is conflicted. The story has an engaging, festive vibe. I like the setting, the characterisation and the believable sense of village life.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher.

Helen Rolfe - Christmas Nights at the Star and Lantern.

This is book six in the Heritage Cove series from Helen Rolfe.
This is only the second book that I’ve read from the series, and it can easily be read as a stand alone story. However, this is a lovely series and well worth reading the whole lot in order.
I’m looking forward to immersing myself in Heritage Cove from the very beginning.

It’s a big deal to the residents of Heritage Cove, when their local pub comes under new ownership.
Quinn and Eddie want to put their own stamp on their new business venture, but are also keen not to upset the locals.
Quinn has previously been to Heritage Cove once before. And is excited to catch up with a certain someone who stole his heart on his previous visit.

I enjoyed this book so much. I quite honestly hoovered it up in one day.

Helen Rolfe has created something quite special with Heritage Cove. She describes it so vividly, that it springs to life in the minds eye of the reader.
Along with a cast of colourful characters, Heritage Cove has the cosiest feeling, and will entice you to want to be there.

Of course #ChristmasNightsAtTheStarAndLantern is essentially Quinn and Celeste’s story.
Celeste is a kind soul. She is focussed on her business and is a woman who knows her own mind.
When Quinn was last in Heritage Cove, he completely rocked Celeste’s world.

Quinn is a lovely bloke. Since his last visit to the cove, he has been through a lot and carries those scars with him.
Hopefully a new life in Heritage Cove will kick start his journey to being healed.

The chemistry between Celeste and Quinn sizzles, but that alone won’t promise them a happily ever after.

#ChristmasNightsAtTheStarAndLantern is a warm hearted, feel good festive read.
Helen Rolfe has written a solid story, full of love, friendship, second chances, the wonderful warmth of community and all the fuzzy feels of a top class festive read.
Absolutely gorgeous!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Christmas Nights at the Star and Lantern is another great installment in the Heritage Cove series.

Christmas Nights at the Star and Lantern is a wonderful and heart-warming story. I loved all the characters and the charming story that Helen has created. This book is part of the Heritage Cove series but can be read as a stand-alone. Fans of the series will love being able to hang out with MCs from past books. It felt like catching up with old friends. Gosh, I do love small-town English Christmas romance books. It just checks off all those romance boxes that I have. I love the sense of community and togetherness that is often found in small-town-focused stories. In this book, the town of Heritage Cove is going through a change in the form of new owners talking over the local pub. There is this sense of fear about what will happen to their beloved pub. I loved watching the dynamic between the townspeople and the new pub owners, Quinn and Eddie. It’s hard being the new people in town, and these guys seemed to be constantly ruffling feathers with the community. But what stood out to me was that instead of being bitter about the situation, both sides came together and helped each other. I also loved Barney; that old guy is such a woot, and his story in this book is so utterly heartwarming, and he had me laughing throughout the whole book. He was a hidden gem in this story.

This is a second-chance, slow-burn romance. Celeste and Quinn had a short summer fling a few years before this book. Neither thought they would see each other again. Celeste knew she had feelings for Quinn but also thought she wouldn’t be a good match for him because he wanted a family, and she had no desire to have children. Quinn never forgot about Celeste, and when the opportunity came to purchase the pub, he was excited to live in the same town as her. He was hoping to re-kindle those romantic feelings that had existed between them. But he is surprised that Celeste acts cold and distant to the news that he will live in Heritage Cove.
On top of that, Quinn is also dealing with PTSD from his time in the Navy and is afraid of how Celeste will react to his night terrors. There is this sense of realism in Celeste and Quinn’s relationship. I was interested in seeing how Helen would bring these two together. And I have to say that I enjoyed watching these two reconnect. They have issues that they have to work through, and it isn’t smooth sailing, but their romantic journey felt real and right to me. And there HEA was perfect!

Christmas Nights at the Star and Lantern is a delightful story with unforgettable characters and a HEA that will melt your heart.

This is the sixth in Helen Rolfe’s series set in Heritage Cove. Celeste is the part -owner of the local bakery, along with her sister Jade. Celeste is stunned to find out that the new owner of the local pub, the Copper Plough is non other than Qui.nn,. The same Quinn with whom she had a brief affair with some years previously. Quinn and his brother have bought the much loved pub and start to make changes. The name of the bar being one of them. Cue locals with ruffled feathers. Read along to see if Heritage Cove accept the newcomers and if Celeste and Quinn can reconnect and rekindle their romance. Thanks to the publishers for an ARC.

A cozy Christmas read following life in a small community. All together a pleasant read.

It takes a village like Heritage Cove to hone beautiful traditions, help new and old neighbors, and bring a sense of community to young and old. But are the traditions interfering with the McLeod brothers’ business? Sentimentality doesn’t pay the bills, but the place has a way of growing on you.

Celeste and Jade are sisters and co-owners of the local bakery in Heritage Cove. They are excited and nervous to find out who the new owners of the pub will be. The pub is the community hub in the village and the locals don’t like change. That’s not the only change Celeste is anxious about. Apparently, Quinn McLeod is back in town and he’s staying this time.

Quinn is ready to start a new business venture with his brother as well as seek out the woman he never forgot. However, both pursuits are proving to be challenging. The townspeople have a tight hold on their village customs and the woman Quinn thought he had a chance with is pulling away.

Celeste’s life choices are similar to mine and I understood her heartbreaking choices to stay true to them. I was so happy that Quinn wanted her as his family. I just wish she could have taken her own words of advice to her best friend Melissa and opened up to Quinn earlier. It would have saved a lot of doubt and heartache in the end. Celeste is such a kind and understanding friend to all and it was sad to see her fight with her feelings for the man who was meant for her. Quinn is a good man who has some personal issues he is fighting, and it’s good that he finally recognizes his need for help which comes in unexpected places. It’s slow in coming, but there is happiness in store for these two.

I was lucky to read Christmas at the Little Waffle Shack a few years ago and was happy to see the many characters of Heritage Cove again. Barney, “the village oracle” is front and center with his strong, well-intentioned advice. Quinn’s brother Eddie is a man of many ideas to build a clientele for their pub and a fan of the ice cream lady, Zara. There is a new story there.

I am delighted to recommend this sweet, slow-burn, second-chance Christmas romance with a beautiful setting and colorful characters. It reminds us that communication is essential in any relationship and that change is not always a bad thing.

Thank you to Ms. Rolfe for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
