This was my first foray into this authors work and I really enjoyed my time with this book. It was fun and I loved the character of Stephen. The writing style was also easy to read and overall very engaging and fun.

It was very refreshing to see somebody go to a magic school when they are in their twenties. It made all the perils much more realistic.
