A true feel good read. I loved the relationship between Gemma and Lucy and thought the memories they shared about their mum were wonderful.
The cafe and its location sounded lovely - a real focal point for the whole community. This is certainly a tale of making your family work whatever it’s makeup.

It's always an absolute thrill and privilege to be invited to participate in a Kim Nash blog tour. Her books never, ever disappoint - I'd go so far as to say that I'd love to actually live in a Kim Nash book! And Finding Family at the Cornish Cove is no different.

This is the second in Kim Nash's Cornish Cove series, set in gorgeous Driftwood Bay.

Gemma knows that the time has come to expand her late mother's café, and tentatively starts making plans to get things under way. She's had a tough time and while she always goes out of her way to be a good friend to everyone around her, she often forgets to take good care of herself, believing that she can just keep going, regardless. Thankfully, the wonderful people in her life are there to show her that just as she always looks out for them, they're always on hand to step in and do the same for her.

Kim Nash creates characters who are the type of people you want to sit and have a coffee with ... you want to pour your heart out to them, and you want them to become your closest friends. Gemma's café is the very hub of her community. It's where the buzz is. But really, it's Gemma whose warmth and authenticity have created the magnetism that draws people into her space, making it somewhere that everyone wants to be.

When Occy and her father Jude arrive on the scene, interesting new dynamics are introduced into Gemma's life. She slowly starts to see that the solitary future she'd imagined for herself might not actually be what's in store, and that she could possibly be able to - tentatively - let someone into her heart again.

This is a story about many things: family, relationships, people, empathy, moving on, inner strength and healing. It's about realising that you don't have to do the difficult stuff on your own, and about choosing who you surround yourself with, and knowing you'll always have your back. It's about being able to fail sometimes because there are strong people supporting you who will help you to pick up the pieces.

I didn't like Jude at first. I found him prickly and stand-offish. But I quickly changed my opinion, and by the middle of the book, I adored the guy! Gemma is lovely and I probably liked her even more because of her flaws. But there's absolutely no doubt that the absolute star of this book for me, is young Occy! I can't wait to see what's next for her and hope she'll be featured in future books.

My only problem with Kim Nash's books is that I read them too quickly! But while I'm reading them, I feel like I'm being wrapped in a comforting blanket of calm serenity, and being held securely in the embrace of good company, soothing, warm beverages and yummy baked goods! Could anything be better than that?

I was so excited to be returning to Cornish Cove to find out what was going on in this lovely seaside community. I find Kim Nash’s books are so uplifting with characters that I can readily identify with and who I enjoy spending time with too.
Gemma has a lot going in her life, an expansion to her business ( that has it’s own emotional connection with her family) changes in her family and some new people arriving too, there’s much to keep her busy both in body and mind.
It was fantastic to see Gemma embracing these changes and for finding the strength to overcome emotional obstacles that are sent to try her.
Definitely a perfect follow on book, and it was great to catch up with the characters from the first book in this splendid series ( although it could easily be read as a standalone)
Hoping for another book in the future from this beautiful setting. Who doesn’t love a trip to the seaside?

Family is front and centre of this delightful romcom by Kim Nash. You get to see families of all shapes and sizes and there are plenty of unfinished issues to work through before Gemma can admit who she regards as her family. Parenting teenagers sits side by side with childlessness and new pregnancies. Absent parents also make an appearance with the effect of this being shown on the children from years back.

I enjoyed Gemma's optimism, although I did lose patience with some of her reactions to unfolding events. Above all, she emerges as a nurturer who leaves people better off for knowing her. With such a delightful setting and community, this is an enjoyable read with plenty of romance to go along with the storyline and an interesting character in Jude and the hilarious Occy.

In short: Friends and family

Finding Family At The Cornish Cove by Kim Nash is a beautiful contemporary novel that I thoroughly enjoyed. It is the second book in the Cornish Cove series but can be read as a stand-alone.
This is a book about love, friendship and family. We see there are many types of family, just as there are many types of love – sibling, new love, old love, family love. Each is similar but different requiring different responses.
Likewise, families come in all different shapes and sizes. Family is those who love us. When we find family, we find home.
We see the deep grief that the loss of a mother brings. “There was a time… that I never thought I’d laugh again… I just existed in a little bubble of sadness.” We need to move beyond our grief and learn to live again. We fear losing sight of our loved one but they live on in our heart.
There is also the damage created by an absentee wife and mother. A family learned to live without her but there were emotional consequences as we see a teen learning to find her way.
We witness a character trying to live her mother’s dream, for fear of losing a memory but “this is where your memories are. In your heart and in your mind.” Her mother’s dream is enlarged when the lead character owns her own dream.
Forgiveness is a major theme. “I needed to find a way to forgive… If I didn’t the only person who would suffer was me.” When we withhold forgiveness, our hearts become bitter not better.
The landscape of the café is warm and welcoming, in contrast to the wild Cornish landscape.
I loved Finding Family At The Cornish Cove. It warmed my heart as I read of the generosity of the lead character in both emotional and physical ways. She gave herself away in many acts of kindness.
The whole novel was beautifully written and very powerful. I will leave you with my favourite quote:
“If you tell the truth, it becomes part of your past, but if you tell lies, it becomes part of your future.”
I received a free copy via Rachel’s Random Resources. A favourable review was not required. All opinions are my own.

This is only my second book by Kim and in fact also the second in this series and I can honestly say I want to read everything Kim has ever written and will ever write!
I adored Gemma right from the start and found it hard to put this story down and get on with my life. Gemma tells her story first person and even though I cannot relate to what she has gone through or is going through I could feel it and understand her. I loved her relationship with Occy who was such a special character and her bond with her sister Lucy was just precious. There was so much that I loved about this story and don't get me started on the setting and the community feeling... let me just swoon away.
Kim please write more books in this series!

Finding Family at the Cornish Cove by Kim Nash is a gorgeous and uplifting feel good novel that is pure escapism at its very best – and I loved every word of this beautifully written, heartwarming book.

In this second book in the series we meet Gemma who runs the local cafe next to the beach. Gemma has been running the cafe with devotion since her mother’s death, so when an opportunity comes up to extend into the property next door she jumps at the chance.

As this is the second book in the series we do see some familiar faces as well as some brand new ones, with the mix between the old and the new coming together in such a way that it brings the backdrop of Cornwall and the people who inhabit the Cornish Cove vividly to life. This is a book with a sense of community at its core and the stories told are sometimes moving, often hilarious but always heartwarming. And I loved it!

Finding Family at the Cornish Cove is a story that’s filled to the brim with heart and leaves you sighing with happiness as you turn the final page. Easily read as a standalone, this is a glorious tale of love, family, friendship and self discovery that I thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end

Kim Nash has written yet another gorgeous and uplifting book that I would highly recommend and I can’t wait to read whatever she comes up with next!

I loved this story, It's well written and awesomely told, I enjoyed the characters and how both main characters Gemma and Jude's past comes back for them, as they are ready to step into their lives. Octavia is also a well presented youngster, discovering her life. Cute romance, with lies, deception, a yummy cafe' by the sea.

Finding Family at the Cornish Cove is the second book in the Cornish Cove Series, but can also be read as a standalone book. This story focuses on cafe owner, Gemma – who has taken over the running of the cafe that her late mother owned before she sadly passed away. Gemma wants nothing more than to continue the legacy for her Mum and make the cafe a huge success. So she decides to expand the business.

With the expansion taking place, Gemma needs to take on more staff, so when teenager Occy applies for a job at the cafe, Gemma decides she needs to check with her Dad – Jude – first of all before she hires Occy. And this is where the fun starts – as soon as Gemma and Jude meet each other, the chemistry between the two of them is obvious to anyone. However, both of them are staying clear of relationships after both being hurt so badly in the past.

As Gemma and Jude spend more and more time together, we see their friendship bloom. Will either of them be willing to let their guard down and give into the relationship they both so clearly want, or are they destined just to be really good friends?

Finding Family at the Cornish Cove is a beautifully written story, packed full of life, laughs, love, and friendship – all finished off with a huge dollop of emotion. A beautiful and emotional read – add it to your TBR pile today 📚

This heartwarming read is a book that immerses you in the characters' lives and makes you want to find out what happens next. Gemma has experienced heartbreak in her life but also love and support, and she is determined to give back to the friends and community that helped her. She isn't looking for love but has unexpected chemistry with Jude. I love the realism in this story; the lack of perfection in the people and situations makes the good things that happen mean something to the reader. I like the female protagonist's positivity, the family and friends dynamic and the conflicted but lovely romance.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher.

The second in the series about Driftwood Bay and it is lovely to be back there. If you can read the first book it will help you to understand the characters but it is possible to enjoy this book on it's own. I really enjoyed reading this and it is well worth 5 stars.

Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for this ARC

I hadn't read the first book in this series featuring Driftwood bay I'm ashamed to say but that didn't matter in the slightest because this delightful book works perfectly well as a standalone. This is the story of Gemma who has taken over the running of the family cafe after her mother's death and the breakdown of her own marriage and, although she is doing her very best to move on with her life, she keeps second guessing whether she is doing the right thing. I am someone who can definitely relate to a person being plagued by doubts about her decisions and whether to take a risk in life, so this book really spoke to me.

Of course, a romance novel wouldn't be complete without a love interest for the central character ... enter Jude, a hunky fireman with difficult decisions of his own to make about the future. He and Gemma seem to be exactly what the other might need in their life right now but, of course, the path of true love never runs smooth and there are lots of ghosts in both their pasts which rear their ugly heads to throw spanners in the works of their budding relationship.

This is a book without any huge dramatic happenings and it doesn't need it because this is a book that is just a reflection of everyday life and the kind of problems that ordinary people face across the world on a daily basis. It is about relationships and family and personal struggles and loss and grief and forgiveness.  There is going to be something in this book that every person who picks it up can relate to, and that makes it an engrossing and rewarding read.

All of this before we even get to the gorgeous seaside setting of Driftwood Bay and its idyllic community. Gemma finds strength in the friendship and support of the people who surround her in this tiny town and is rewarded when she gives the same in return. It is this kind of heartwarming read that really picks me up when I'm having a hard time and reminds me that the world can be a good place filled with good people after all. I really needed this at the moment and was thankful to be transported to Driftwood Bay over the past few days. A wonderful read.

This is the second book in the Cornish Cove series, it can read as a standalone, but why would you? Get that first book read, you'll fall in love with Driftwood Bay and it's residents just like I have.

Nash's characters are warm, inviting and very likeable. We make new friends and catch up with some familiar faces, it's like we've never been away.

Finding Family at the Cornish Cove is a second chance story of friendship, family and romance, with a great sense of community at its heart.

It's uplifting, heartwarming and I absolutely loved it, a pure delight to read!

Here's to book three...

Nice to be back in Driftwood Bay and this was a quick easy read.

Last year I read my first book by Kim Nash which was set in a small town on the Cornish coast called Driftwood Bay, and really enjoyed it. I therefore jumped at the opportunity to read the follow up book, again set in the town.

We first met Gemma in Hopeful Hearts at the Cornish Cove, where she was one of the more welcoming members of the town to Meredith, whose story we read in the first book. Gemma has been running the local cafe since her beloved mother passed away but now it is time to make some changes. With the help of Clem who we met in the first book, she is expanding the space which means doing renovations. When she meets another newcomer to town, Jude, who is the local fire safety officer, it is safe to say that they don't hit it off straight away. Gemma makes some assumptions about Jude which makes her distrust him.

In addition to needing renovation work, Gemma is going to need some new staff. One of those new staff members is a young girl named Occy. Gemma is able to connect with Occy in a way that her single father can't but she is sure to respect the boundaries that have been put in place.

Like all of us, the characters in this book all bring their own issues to the situation. For Gemma this includes an ex husband. She also isn't sure what it going on with her sister, who she is normally close to. Jude has his own history, which erupt in a wholly unexpected way. I wasn't sure at first about some of these aspects of the story, but it all worked out well in the end

I once again enjoyed my time in Driftwood Bay. It has just been announced that there are at least two more book coming in this series, and you know that I will be jumping on board for those too!

Finding Family at the Cornish Cove

I have read all of Kim Nash’s books and loved every single one but I have to say that this one is my absolute favourite.
This book is about Gemma whom I’ve met before in Kim’s previous book Hopeful Hearts at the Cornish Cove.
Gemma is renovating the cafe that she inherited from her late mum and whilst sorting out the building regs she has to allow a fireman in to do a check on the building. Jude (the sexy fireman) is extremely easy on the eye and has not long moved to the area with his teenage daughter.
Gemma takes a chance on Occy by offering her a job in the cafe and a wonderful relationship is formed.
Gemma finds herself struggling emotionally when she finds something out about her sister which is particularly heartbreaking for her but she finds that her feelings are conflicted.
I really loved watching the relationship unfold with Gemma and Occy and Gemma and Jude, it was also lovely to see the effect that Gemma had on Occy and Jude’s relationship too because whilst they got on most of the time, sometimes they didn’t understand each other and Gemma helped to bridge that gap.
After sorting through some complications from both Jude and Gemma’s past including unearthing secrets that affected both Gemma and her sister, I’m pleased to say there was a gorgeous happy ever after.
What I found very enriching about this story was Gemma’s love for her late mum and how she was still able to find guidance from her throughout the story in sayings her mum had and in actions that she had done in their lives. I found this to be very close to my heart and it gave me all the feels.
I can’t wait for Kim’s next book which I’m hoping is also based in Driftwood Bay.
A multi dimensional love story filled with family, forgiveness and second chances.

This is Kim Nash’s second book set in an idyllic Cornish cove, with a community so lush you hanker after upping sticks and moving there, just as Gemma did when she bought a lighthouse to live in, in the first book Hopeful Hearts at the Cornish Cove.

Imagine how delighted I was to be taking a trip back there with Gemma as the central character this time. Gemma is running the local cafe with plans to expand into the building next door. She wants to build upon the legacy left by her mum who ran the cafe at the heart of community and make her proud. Her mum managed the business as well as bringing up Gemma and her sister Lucy single handed and had made the cafe a haven for people of all ages, everyone welcome as she dished out comfort in the form of food and a listening ear. Gemma is quite anxious about living up to her mums legacy, she’s anxious about changing things and hasn’t really changed anything up to now, not wanting to let go of what her mum created.

The gorgeous Clem who we met in the first book in this series renovated the lighthouse and is now in a relationship with its owner Meredith, is doing the building works, sharing his vision and guiding Gemma through the inevitable disruption, doing the work in an order that the disruption is minimised until the very last moment. Bringing in firefighter Jude to inspect and an advise on fire safety, sets off a few sparks.

Gemma knows she is going to need more help in the cafe in readiness for the expansion and that comes in the form of Occy who literally crashed through the door. This was a delightful relationship that as a reader was a joy to read, It turns out Occy is Judes daughter and has an almost Jekyll and Hyde appearance - sweetness and light with Gemma but obnoxious and rude with her dad. Gemma finds herself becoming the shoulder to lean on for Occy just as her mum had been for many others.

Gemma and Lucy share a close bond, each of them there for each other, I’d have loved to have had a sister, the depth of their bond was a delight to read. Lucy is there for Gemma whenever she needs her but Gemma is conscious of the fact her sister has enough to do with the bed and breakfast she runs as well as being heavily present.

The pages of this delightful story are peppered with emotion, anxiety, sadness, humour, love and hope - as well as what you always find in a Kim Nash book, a hearty helping of truth and reality. I absolutely loved it. Strong friendships both old and new are formed. Kim Nash always weaves characters in her books in such a way that you can’t help but form an instant bond and sit quietly in the corner sending good vibes and wishes for the inevitable romance. This book has a depth that is greater than a fledgling romance, it digs deep into relationships both past and present and seeing the main cast of this story Gemma, Occy and Jude grow and develop was very moving, each having their own back story and all supported by the cast of the community. What’s presented on the outside isn’t always what it seems, each of them had built protective shells that were peeled away as the pages were turned.

I have loved all of Kim’s books but this one is another level, I said her last book, the first in the series, was her best yet but this is another level!! It is her BEST YET and I can’t wait for the next one. This was a truly, heart warming story, Kim Nash has nailed it as a Romance author, having got the cocktail of reality and dreams just right.

This is the story of Gemma, who
For the past few years has a lot been through.
A cheating husband, divorce and more
As well as losing the Mum she adored.

Now she's starting plans that are new
Expanding her Mum's café is what she'll do.
She's bought the property right next door
But now starts renovations and more!

Coping with changes, starting taking chances
But not daring to try any new romances.
She's friends galore and her sister, too,
And a brilliant community to see her through.

With newcomers adding to the mix as well
Who knows what's coming, no one can tell.
But new friendships, surprises and so much more
Make this a read I totally adore.

Another great read from this author who
Writes hugs in books to send to me and you.
With great characters, family dramas and surprises, too,
I have no hesitation in highly recommending it to you!

For my complementary copy of this book I say thank you
As I share with you this, my honest review.

Gemma is a character who I took to right from the beginning. She’s come through a tough time having had a rather messy divorce, she’s trying to come to terms with a personal disappointment and still getting used to the loss of her beloved mum. I admired her dedication to carrying on her mum’s legacy in the Harbour Café. Her mum wanted the café to be a place where people of all ages would feel welcome and Gemma had the vision and kind heart to do the same.

When she meets grumpy fire safety officer Jude Adams, there is a fair bit of misunderstanding on Gemma’s part at first which was quite funny to read about. Although they became good friends, it was very obvious that there was a strong attraction between them. I was fairly sure how things would go but, as Gemma tried to explain to Jude when they were discussing rom-com films, although you think there’s going to be a happy ending it’s all about the journey, and I certainly had fun reading about this journey.

Family is an important theme in the book and although I can’t say too much about it, as I don’t want to give anything away, Kim Nash did a fantastic job of showing all the different ways people can be family.

Finding Family at the Cornish Cove is a lovely story and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the residents of Driftwood Bay. I’ll be keen to read more about this charming seaside village. I particularly enjoyed the Autumn feel throughout the book with the descriptions of chilly mornings, Autumn colours and darker evenings making this feel like a book to cosy up with. I’m happy to recommend this story of family, friendship, kindness and romance.
