Sometimes this genre can be a bit twee, but this author has get again nailed it. I really enjoyed reading Gemma’s story and look forward to the next instalment.

A book to warm the cockles of your heart! I’ve always been fond of the found family trope and this one was heartwarming and heartbreaking in equal measure. I loved getting to know Gemma and she was such a wonderful character. The added element of the cosy tea shop was also great too and made reading the whole book super comforting.

And I have to admit, Occy, even though she wasn’t our main character, absolutely stole my heart. A teenage girl who is navigating the world without a mother, a new move, and a new school and a father who is trying his best but can sometimes be a little overbearing. But when she seized the chance to work for our MC, it is the making of her.

Watching Occy go from strength to strength was so heartwarming and the relationship Gemma was building with her and her dad was so cute! There was a great romance element, enough drama to keep you invested and great vibes to keep returning back to. It’s my first time reading anything from this author and I’d definitely want to read more now she’s appeared on my radar. Loved this book!

So I am sitting here just having finished reading book two Finding Family at The Cornish Cove and I am wondering how my words can do Kim and her book justice. I really want to somehow convey to you how much I adore this new series and book two and how much endless possibilities I see with it.
I signed up for the blog tour in October but when my copy of the book arrived via the blog tour organiser, I just had to down tools and start it.
Today I came to work and was having so many sneak peaks at it that in the end I gave up with work and finished the book.
Her Cornish Cove series has the most wonderful characters and while we have a central character in each book, I love how she introduces new ones to her story all the time.
Her writing flows so well and I feel having read all of Kim's work to date that there is something a little different with this series. Almost like her writing has stepped up a gear. Like the author is growing with every book.
We meet Gemma in book two and she is loyal and friendly. She is one of these people that puts others before herself constantly. You want her to be happy. You want everything to work out for her. You want her to be your friend really or want to have one just like her.
Jude was a lovely addition and I wanted him to see quite early on what a wonderful woman Gemma was.
Wasn't her relationship with Occy beautiful too. She listened, she encouraged and she supported this young girl when she most needed it in her life.
Central to this whole story was the relationship Gemma and her sister Lucy had with their mother who had passed away a while back. I loved how their mum's values and encouragement shone through in her daughters and the refurbishment of what had once been her cafe.
Both sisters have a lovely relationship with each other and wanted to protect each other.
Kim has introduced me to this rom com genre and I am thrilled she has done. She has opened my eyes to so many authors.
Isn't it the sign of a good series when you finish a book and immediately want to know where the author will go with the next one.
Beautifully written, an array of wonderful characters and a real sense of friendship and love.
Love, love, loved it for sure...

In this story we meet Gemma who runs the local café that’s situated close to the beach. I really envied Gemma living in the flat above it with the wonderful scenic views from the windows. It had me wishing that I could easily pack up my life and move near to the sea.

This is a small community where everyone knows each other of which Gemma’s sister also lives close by running the local B&B. It was lovely getting to see characters we had met in the first book in the series as well as new ones in the form of fire officer Jude Adams and his daughter Occy. Whilst this is the second in the series. It easily reads as a standalone as its a self contained story focusing on different characters.

There are some highs and lows for some of the characters of which some parts had me howling in laughter whilst others gave me a lump in my throat. The closeness of the two sisters was heart-warming to read of and if anything, the whole story gives you a real sense of family. There is also some great friendships of which I think will have readers hopefully appreciating the good friends they have in their lives.

Finding Family at the Cornish Cove was one of the most uplifting and wonderful stories I’ve read this year. It has everything I look for in this genre with firm friendships, humor, some romance but first and foremost a protagonist that readers are able to relate to and route for. The epilogue was so powerful and beautifully written, it took my breath away with the emotions it had me feel. A novel that is guaranteed to lift your heart and make you smile!
