I really enjoyed this book! Alice and Thomas are so different and yet so perfect for each other! I loved following their building relationship!
The plot is funny and I eagerly read every word. I love that Thomas fought for so long. The wedding is hilarious and made the book so fun to read.
All in all, a lovely story and I can't wait to read the next instalment in the series!

Perfect for Tessa Bailey fans, Anyone But The Boss is the fabulously funny new romantic comedy by Sara L. Hudson.

Thomas Moore is a man with the world at his feet. Rich, successful and good-looking, the heir to glamorous New York department store Moore’s has everything his heart desires – but he’s not happy. Thomas is sick of being compared to his philandering crook of a father and would love to show everyone that he’s nothing like his dad. Getting a sense of humour and not taking things so seriously would certainly help. Might Alice Truman be able to lend a hand with with this? Or might she just end up making Thomas’ life even worse?

Alice has just recently been promoted and she’s determined to prove her worth – even if it means smiling at her arrogant yet oh so sexy boss, Thomas Moore who doesn’t think that she’s cut out for this job. Alice plans to work as hard as she possible can, keep her head down and avoid Thomas when she can – a plan that sadly looks doomed to fail when her best friend organizes an Elvis-themed destination wedding with Thomas’ brother!

Finding themselves in close proximity together, Alice and Thomas start getting closer and closer and things soon begin to get complicated. Will they manage to keep things strictly professional? Or might they realise that taking a chance on their burgeoning attraction could lead them to a love that could last a lifetime?

Get ready to roar with laughter with this side-splittingly hilarious romantic comedy by Sara L Hudson, Anyone But The Boss. Sassy, sexy and so much fun, Anyone But The Boss is packed with wickedly witty banter, red-hot chemistry and powerful emotion that will keep you glued to its pages.

With a gorgeous hero, a terrific heroine and plenty of wit, mischief and intensity, Sara L Hudson’s Anyone But The Boss is a must for rom-com fans everywhere.

Anyone But The Boss is the second story in the series. I did not read the first one but that was not a problem to jump right in here. There are really fun characters and even the cats have good personalities.

A very interesting turn of events that brings you back into the crazy Moore family.

I loved the banter between Thomas and Alice, not to talk even about the cat and it's name! The family of characters brings this story to life and the depth is just right for a story of this length. I fully enjoyed coming back to the Moore family and all the crazy fun situations that happen throughout their books.

This book wasn’t for me in the end. When the story didn’t feel far-fetched, it was laced with plenty of steamy sex scenes and quite a thin plot. I felt uncomfortable with the decade age-gap between the main characters as their relationship developed, picturing instead someone who was similar in age to Alice. Thomas is really hung up on behaving like his scandalised father and I had thought he was in his late twenties, early thirties. But, the little bit of information on his age meant I thought this oldish bachelor love story was a bit, well, yucky. I prefer my billionaire romances to be a bit younger!

Although this is part of a series, I didn’t notice and came in on book two without needing to know too much of the family history: the writer gives enough clues along the way to helpfully fill in any blanks. I like that Thomas’s family run a successful department store and this is where their wealth seems to originate from. This made his background a bit different to similar romance reads, rather than the male character typically being a rich bachelor who works in law.

The story switches between Thomas and Alice’s perspectives so you get a real sense of what these main characters are feeling. I enjoyed that sometimes it moved over immediately, continuing the scene on from the other character. It meant the story flowed and was less disjointed.

Some of the scenes in the book felt toe-curlingly awkward, such as at the airport security and the morning after the night before in Vegas. The lack of memories after an alcohol-fuelled evening did remind me of an episode from Friends… just a lot steamier instead. Yes, there were some entertaining scenes in between it all, but unfortunately I did not find I was chuckling too often.

The sub-plot featuring Mary became quite emotive and this was my favourite aspect of the story, rather than the main romance theme. I found Kayla’s character to be shocking so that Alice and Thomas’s actions become even more heroic in contrast. I really sympathised with Mary but admired her stoicism and perspective one-liners she has throughout the book. It was a total contrast with the awful cat, who made me shudder every time I imagined it!

Unfortunately, I didn’t get as much from this book as I was hoping. I am grateful to have given this author a try but I don’t think the story hung together particularly well, not aided by the fact it seemed so far-fetched and convenient in places.

With thanks to Boldwood books and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Alice and Thomas. They both work at Moore’s. Alice is the visual director and Thomas is the CEO of the family’s business. There is an instant attraction. They go to Las Vegas for a wedding of Thomas’ brother. They wake up in bed with each other with wedding rings on their fingers. They go through the process of believing they are married. They fall in love.

Anyone But The Boss - Sara L. Hudson

This book gets going straight away with plenty of humour, my main source of this was Chase's cat (who has the most brilliant name) and the airport baggage scene. Alice and Thomas had great sexual chemistry between them and the author does not make the reader wait around for us to enjoy this. There was plenty of background info on the characters which just made me endear to them even more. Thank you very much Netgalley and Boldwood Books for this e-arc in return for my honest thoughts and opinions

Absolutely loved the storyline in this book. The publisher could have literally wrote "woman wakes up married to her hot boss" in the blurb and it would be an instant yes.
They plan to annul the marriage but they get delayed, the chemistry that builds between them is SO GOOD. Really enjoyed this book, definitely recommend.

After a drunken night in Vegas, Alice and her boss Thomas wake up married and agree to keep it quiet while they try to annul the marriage. However, a family emergency delays their plans, giving them time to bond. Thomas, initially closed off, starts to open up, especially to Alice's niece Mary. Meanwhile, Alice reveals her strong, protective side and begins to see Thomas differently. As they navigate their differences and past traumas, their opposites-attract dynamic sparks a deep connection. With memorable supporting characters and heartfelt moments, this rom-com delivers both humor and emotional depth, making it a delightful read.

If you’re a fan of fire chemistry, “Anyone But The Boss” is for you!

Book 2 in the Anyone But You series, it can still be read as a standalone.

The book has some spice, some sweet moments, and plenty of laughter to keep readers entertained.

I was given a copy of this book to download for free from a marketer, as I’d apparently read one of the author’s previous books. I was bored so I thought I’d give it a try. It was a fairly rote rom-com that was enjoyable to read while on vacation. Some of the storyline was a bit far fetched, but if you let go of reality, then it’s enjoyably fun.

Anyone But the Boss is a quick romantic comedy read. This is the second book in the series by the author but can be read as a standalone as I have come to understand. However, there are some references to many of the characters who appear in the story as well as context for the main character that would have made better sense if I'd read the first book.

The story follows Thomas and Alice, two people who come from very different worlds but supposedly have very traumatic or unhappy pasts. The first half of the story focuses on how they meet and then becomes a race to showcase each of their lives. This was a little rushed in my opinion and honestly, some of the humor in the first half did not work for me.

The second half of the story was much better and though the story is predictable, I loved reading about Thomas's interactions with Alice's six-year-old niece. As the characters further interact and grow, the story becomes rather sweet and ends on a good note. I have to mention the supporting characters who add so much life to this story and provide an interesting perspective to Thomas's life. Overall, this is a decent one time read.

When I got this book, I was unaware that it was part of a series, but it read as a standalone. I thought the characters were interesting and fairly well written, and I enjoyed the story. It did make me want to go back and read the first one, which I think is pretty high praise.

Alice works as a visual merchandiser in the luxury store owned by Thomas Moore and his family in New York. Thomas is attracted to Alice, but won’t admit it to himself as she is his employee and he does not wish to take advantage of his position. Due to his upbringing, Thomas is lacking in social skills and can’t express his feelings so Alice believes he does not like her because of the way he behaves.
Anyone but the Boss is really a book of two halves. The first half of the book concerns the upcoming Elvis-themed wedding of Thomas’s brother Chase in Las Vegas. Several of the store staff are making the trip, and I may be in a minority here but I found the humour a bit juvenile. In fact, I almost stopped reading at this point. The morning after the wedding, Alice and Thomas wake up in bed together, wearing matching rings, with no memory of what went on the night before. What is the likelihood that they would believe they had got married, without further investigation, but you just have to go along with it for the rest of the story to make sense.
I much preferred the second part of the storyline when Alice and Thomas take over parenting duties for Mary who has been abandoned by her mother (Alice’s foster sister). Mary is a delightful child who wins Thomas over and enables him to loosen up and show how kind he is underneath his stern exterior. Thomas’s mother Emily’s reaction to Mary is also a revelation – we see a completely different side to her. All that’s needed to complete the picture is a hairless cat with a bad attitude.
The story is told from the point of view of both Alice and Thomas so we get a rounded picture of what is going on. The characters are well written and believable, and develop as the story goes on. Naturally there is a lot of humour or everything might have seemed a bit dark. This is the second book in a series and I have not read the first one, but I don’t think it really mattered. Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for a digital copy to review.

Here we have a book for all book lovers that are into fake dating/marriage that takes place in Vegas. This is the second book which I totally missed and I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had read the first one first but it still gets 3 stars since I found it to my liking.

This book is anything but boring. You have Vegas, and a fake marriage. This book will keep you intrigued!

This book was so much fun and I caught my self laughing on multiple occasions. I did not read the first book in the series which I probably should have according to others, but honestly it was still so much fun for me. There was so excellent spice in this book which I absolutely loved, and not to mention the groveling from the MMC. I would definitely recommend this book!
