<i>dnf'ed. This book has a interesting premise, and blurb. But the book wasn't for me and I really struggling to get into it. I may try again another time. Thank you NetGalley, Little Brown Book & Tracy Wolff; Nina Croft for sending this eARC for review. All opinions are my own.

I mean, I've read Crave so I don't know what I expected. The world building was poorly done or basically non existing. The plot made no sense and so filled with holes it could've been cheese. The characters were just tropes and each and every one of them were just flat like a sheet of paper.

Thank you for my eARC of this book. I love the Crave series so was excited to read this. I though the premise was interesting, and though I would have liked it a little faster in pace and more concise at times, I did enjoy it.

Headlines:
An unlikely crew
Two key couples
Universal catastrophe

I really didn't know what to think jumping into this chonker of a sci-fi romance but it really did work for me. The story revolved around a royal visit, some ancient but advanced technology, a doomsday approaching, a high priestess and a trio of unusual siblings. That might sound an eclectic mix but these authors made it gel together.

The plot thrust together a crew of seven; all suspicious of one another and unfriendly outside of prior allegiances. There were two couplings that emerged and liked both of them. One couple was an endearing and opposites sapphic pairing of Rain and Beckett. The straight couple were Kalli and Ian. Ian was a morally grey character who underwent some serious improvement in my estimation as this story evolved. Talking of Ian, that reveal about him and his siblings was something else...

The plot was long but deep and even so, it kept my attention. It wasn't too complicated. One of the elements of the story I particularly enjoyed was the ship and heptosphere. I am dying to know more about the ancients and what the purpose of the ship is.

Having read one of these authors before I wasn't 100% sure the narrative style would work for me but it did. The style isn't too YA and the on page steam seals that deal. It ends on a what??? note and I will be reading on.

As someone who is a sucker for tropes like disaster-crews and bands-of-misfits, I had a great time reading this book. I was engaged right away, I loved the fact that we often stay multiple chapters with one of the two main point of views, but we still get to see into other characters’ head pretty often. I felt that the author did a great job in giving the different characters distinct voices.

I didn’t necessarily liked the fact that one of the couples had an insta-love start, but I felt invested enough in the characters that the romance part was one of my favorite aspect of this book.

I also appreciated that it was not as science-heavy as most sci-fi books are because this is not what I was in the mood for.

That being said, I feel like the world building could have been more fleshed out, I would have loved seeing different languages, different cultures. It seemed liked the only differences between the planets are the way people look and dress, and the meteorological conditions, and people were either filthy rich or dirt poor. I hope the second book will bring more nuances to this universe.

It sometimes felt like nothing was happening for long periods of time, which was coherent with the fact that their trips were long, but I never really was scared that something would happen to any of them and it overall made a the pacing a bit uneven.

I was quite disappointed in one of the plot twists at the end and especially in the way they all moved on pretty quickly from it. But the ending was intriguing and I want to see more of these characters, so I will definitely pick up the next book.

I really enjoyed this novel. It’s full of wit and banter and twists and turns whose protagonists are an unlikely group of people who are on the run following the explosion of a spaceship. There is a princess, a rebel, a priestess and her guard, and three mercenaries. On board a ship with a mind of its own and chased by the empire, the priesthood, and who knows who else, they need to find a way to survive and save the universe from extinction.

There is romance (including an enemies-to-lovers one), political intrigue, secrets, and prophecies. Fast-paced, engaging and full of humour, is the perfect read for all Star Wars lovers!

This book is an example of an Intergalactic adventure with seven misfits ending up together on a space ship - disparate souls needing to work together , to become friends , to learn to love and then to save the world !! What more could you ask for in this sci fi offering
I did find the beginning slow going but persevered to a point that I ended up enjoying it , although the timeline could do with tightening up .

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

I had to DNF this one. This was my first book by Tracy Wolff, so I wasn't sure what to expect.
I wasn't a fan of the writing style and it came across to me much younger than I was expecting.

There's potential in this story but I found the romance too swift and the world building a bit too simple.
It'an entertaining YA sci-fi romance but it wasn't my cup of tea
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine

I’m just so obsessed with anything that Tracy Wolff writes!!

I just got so swept away by this world, the plot and the characters- there are plenty of twists and turns, and action that will draw you in even more.

The characters were such a delight to follow and watching their character growth and development over the course of the book was so enjoyable. Even if you’re not a sci-fi fan, this book is a great place to start with the genre

This is an ambitious and epic first instalment of a story I want to continue to read. The writers manage to build a solar system, develop characters and take the reader on a galactic adventure all in this first book of a series/trilogy/duology - I don’t know what their scope is but I was engaged enough to want to know what happens next. For me, the romance aspect was more graphically descriptive than I felt necessary and the frequent, and detailed, descriptions of the numerous encounters made a long book longer than it needed to be; it detracted from the adventure thread making it less urgent and compulsive to read. .

I really enjoy sci-fi and this sounded reminiscent of The Aurora Cycle and A Long Way to a Small Angry Planet, both of which I really liked.

While I don’t think this book lived up to those books, it was a reasonable first attempt at sci-fi for the author. It did suffer from some of the same issues as her Crush series (although I only read the first two) in that some of the characters are insufferable and it’s not fun reading their POV’s, and the pacing is uneven throughout.

I did enjoy the ancient tech storyline and that’s what would possibly bring me back for book 2.

I found the romance just ok, up until the point where the “captain”’s secret is revealed, then it got much more interesting and is the other thing that I would like to see explored in more depth in the next book.

Overall, it was an easy read and there’s enough going on that I will pick up book 2.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for providing me with an ARC.

I don't hate this book nor like it, to be quite honest with you I am indifferent to it. It didn't stir up any emotions in me whilst reading it. The world building had some much potential but the overall cringey dialogues and two dimensional characters just didn't cut it for me. I Felt like I was reading a wattpad story written by a teenager. So to sum it up...it's just a boring book. sorry 2 stars from me.

I have mixed feelings regarding this book. I found it soooo hard to dive into. But, after perhaps 20%, I was hooked. And I began to enjoy my reading.
7 persons, 7 misfits, end on a space ship after the explosion of the ISS : one princess, two thieves, one high priestress and her bodyguard, one former prisoner and a tech guy. At first, they hate each other. And little by little, they begin to be friends. And then, they have to save the world together.

Action, feelings, enemies to lovers, space ship, and a bit of ET powers, this book has it all. And it quite does the trick. Even if I found sometimes some incoherences in the storyline or the timeline.
And it certainly will have a sequel, as it doesn't have a firm end...

Ah! I was highly anticipating this book from all the reviews I had seen and I can safely say it did not disappoint!! I love this rag tag team and their escapades! Can’t wait to see more of them! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an early copy of this book.

Unfortunately not a fan of the world building, nor writing style so I DNF quite early. Writing seems quite novice and from someone inexperienced and not enjoyable to read and quite cringeworthy.

"Star Bringer" by Tracy Wolff and Nina Croft takes readers on a high-stakes space adventure, a ticking clock counting down to the demise of the sun and the salvation of the Nine Planets. The narrative weaves through the perspectives of seven diverse characters thrown together by circumstance, each carrying their own secrets and motivations.
The cast is a mix of a princess, a prisoner, a con artist, a warrior, a priestess, a mercenary, and a reluctant leader. As they grapple with a dying sun and the destruction of their space station, they are forced to find common ground, trust, and courage amidst chaos and constant threats.
Romance threads through the story, intertwining the lives of the characters in unexpected ways. Two main love stories emerge, sparking instant attraction and adding an emotional layer to the narrative. The world-building is expansive, creating a rich backdrop that sets the stage for this intergalactic saga.
"Star Bringer" presents a blend of romance, action, and intrigue, but for those seeking a more intricate and profound narrative, it may not hit the mark.

A dying sun, overly powerful empire, dissident rebels - this has the all the makings of a great sci-fi romance but this is also bit more on the fantasy side as well. A motley crew of misfits, from all walks of life, are shoved together on a small spaceship and begin a marathon voyage across space to save their system of planets.

The characters are all versions of your favourite sci-fi characters from epic space movies. The Princess, the Rebel, the priestess, the bodyguard, the prisoner and the bad-boy mercenary. What I liked was that none of the characters were the same at the end of the book. They'd all grown, evolved, lost some of their edges and gained knowledge.

Kali gets some of the "empire is best rosy lens" ripped from her eyes and learns that not everyone sees the world the way she does. I loved learning more about Ian, Max and Milla - I did not see that coming! There is great representation of sexuality and nothing seems contrived or thrown in just because. There is also great diversity in the characters looks - thankfully not everyone is the same ethnicity but neither does ethnicity actually define them.

There are thrills, adventure, treachery, deceit and romance. Sue the romance could have been a tad better - it did feel a bit rushed and full on. Especially for two very sheltered and protected characters. There are plenty of laughs and there was a true camaraderie between this happy band of misfits.

I'd definitely read book 2!
