At the beginning i wasn't sure if i was going to like this book.Thankfully I'm glad that I stuck with it, i found it really magical, and left me in the festive spirit!
Thank you to NetGalley.

I really enjoyed the beginning of this book and felt that there were definitely echoes of It’s a Wonderful Life with the mysterious stranger on the bench. However, as I read on, I didn’t really feel the magic that I was expecting.
I loved the history of the house and liked the characters of Estelle and Angela whereas I wasn’t as interested in Elle or Ben and the modern romance just seemed a bit too neat. I thought that the interweaving of the house’s history was cleverly done and enjoyed seeing how it changed in each time period especially the tree which was constant throughout the book. However, I never really engaged with the way the stories were told which I think stopped me from being really involved with the characters.
Sadly, this book wasn’t for me and didn’t really give me the festive warmth that I look for in a Christmas read.
Thank you to Net Galley and the publishers Little Brown Group UK and Sphere for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I always know that when I pick up an Ali McNamara book, I'm in for some magic, some love and a healthy dose of hidden tidbits too! This latest book did not disappoint on any of those fronts.
It was almost like the Dickens novel itself with the ghosts of Christmas past, present and they certainly knew the future too!
I loved the revelations at the end with the links throughout the ages and the family throughout the book.
A heartwarming tale that encapsulates the spirit of Christmas!
...Always impatient for the next Ali McNamara read, number 14 for me!
Thanks to Netgalley and the author and publisher for a temporary copy in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.
Elle, is alone, sitting by the river Thames, thinking how everything has gone wrong in her life at once.
In the newspaper beside her, she sees a job advertised that is just right for her, but, one thing it states is that whoever applies, must love Christmas.
Making a decision that it’s something that she can deal with, Elle goes to Mistletoe Square. She meets Estelle, the homeowner and Angela, who is her housekeeper.
Estelle informs her that as she’s the last member of her family, she wants a book written by someone about the history of the family as well as the house.
Then begins the journey through the periods of history in the house. There’s twists and turns along the way.
I highly recommend this book.

Another great story from Ali McNamara. The story follows Elle and how one job advert changes her life. Highly recommend.

I have a few favourite 'go to' authors for my festive reads and Ali is one. This book is a lovely, seasonal read. Thank you Ali

Omg this book is absolutely amazing throughly enjoyed every page. Fell in love with all of the characters, loved the magical elements of the book. Definitely up there in my top 10 books x

Ali literally never disappoints. This book is cosy, fun, happy, uplifting, and full of Christmas joy, sparkle and spirit.

Another fantastic read By Ali Mc Namara . The story had me gripped from the start. I really enjoyed watching the relationship develop between Elle and Ben. It also kept me guessing the realtionship between Estelle and Angelia.
I really hope we can revisit Mistletoe Square and see how the story continues .
Thank you for letting me review another Fantastic story.

I love this author, and if you've never read any of her books before, I will warn you to expect a magical treat from all of them! This one has to be my favourite book so far, and once started I couldn't put it down and finished it in just under a day! We meet Elle just before Christmas. She's having a bad time and is found sitting on a London bridge contemplating her future. When a mysterious gentleman leaves her a newspaper advert for the perfect job it sounds too good to be true.
This story was just absolutely delightful! I expected a festive romancey read, which of course it is. But it's also so much more than that! Elle's story takes us back through history, and each visit to a past year is captivating and I found myself hanging on the story's every word! I loved the characters, not just Elle, Ben, Estelle and Angela but the others we meet from the different years. Their stories all brought tears to my eyes and a lump in my throat. How their storylines all unfolded was so mesmorising, I forgot to try and work out where it was all heading and just got carried away with what a wonderful read it was!
This was a book which was full of festivity, friendship, family and love. It was also so magical that I imagined every time it snowed little bits of magic were sprinkled into the snowflakes just to make it that bit more special! I was genuinely sorry to finish this book and could have happily read it all over again...in fact, I might just do that!

A warm and cosy book - requires you to suspend belief. An interesting social history looking at one house across various time periods and the issues faced.
Really liked the characters of Elle and Ben, felt that Estelle and Angela were (deliberately) holding back but as the layers of the story are revealed at the end it does make sense. Really sweet story that gets you thinking about how society treats people. 4*

I read this book as I wandered about waiting for my car as it was tested, thrilled to read a book from an author from someone I know to write mesmerising, beautiful books, and this was certainly one of them as we follow Ellie, who is being knocked from all sides. I’ll admit I didn’t always gel with Ellie, I think I was so invested in the book I took a bit of umbrage to her attitude, and was surprised everyone was recommending a job to her that I wouldn’t have, but once I put over this what a story- the story of Christmas House, Mistletoe Square and the ladies of the house, Estelle and Angela. A stunning, magical (in every sense of the word) story that transported me back in time, made me gasp and smile and swoon. Very enjoyable! Thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for the book in return for an honest review. Rating:4/5

Magical atmospheric festive Christmas read! Absolutely brilliant!! Loved this book, from the first to the last page, I was totally swept away with the charming characters and stories. Enchanting and totally captivating!!
Ella finds herself alone in London gazing at the river Thames just before Christmas and wondering how she has come to a point in her life where she has seemingly lost everything, her boyfriend , her job and her best friend, where can she go? When she sees an advert in a newspaper for a live-in job in Bloomsbury, and meets the inhabitants of Mistletoe Square, the magic of Christmas begins to come alive again for Ella. Can she find a way forward and heal the rifts in her heart?
A new take on a classic story, full of love, kindness, understanding and giving!! Interesting characters and stories from the past incarnations to shape the future. Beautiful ornaments and descriptions of past and present, full of love and Christmas, the story is told with wisdom and perception. Highly recommended for the perfect festive read!!
Thank you NetGalley and Sphere books for the early read!

I have read and loved all of Ali McNamara’s books - magical is the best way to describe them. They are all so well written and It Always Snows On Mistletoe Square is one of the best to date. I was so caught up in it I read it in an afternoon - it truly was tremendous.
It’s a week before Christmas and Elle is signing copies of her book for a class of school children when she is reminded of events from that day five year previous. An unsettled time in her life when she almost hit rock bottom. A chance encounter (or was it!) with a gentleman and an ad in a newspaper led Elle to apply for a live-in position as a wordsmith in a Georgian townhouse in Bloomsbury. She then met the wonderful Estelle and her house keeper/companion/friend Angela and together they told the stories from previous Christmases in the house through the centuries which they wanted Elle to record and write about. Elle also met Ben at that time .. a Solicitor who stayed and worked in the townhouse next door. Despite having recently sworn off man due to life-changing events, Elle feels a connection with Ben but does he feel the same and will she pursue it so soon after having her fingers burnt.
As I have said above a truly wonderful story which comes to life from the words written by Ali McNamara. I cannot recommend this highly enough.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced read copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

This is an AMAZING book and completely unlike any other that I have read before! I was a bit bewildered to start with but after a few chapters, I was invested and wanted to join the journey with Ben and Elle. The Christmassy backdrop is great, but the stand out genius is the way that the stories take you from 1755 to 2018 and the huge social history events that mark those times from the Foundling Hospital to the Aids Crisis in the 1980s. If you want a Christmas read that goes beyond snow and Christmas trees then this incredible book is absolutely the one for you!

What a delightful story this was. A really magical Christmas romance with a touch of mystery and a few twists. well, several twists to be honest. This story was an easy read and one I quickly became involved with the storyline. It takes place in London, in a special house to which the two main characters are drawn, but don't really know why, there is plenty to tweak your imagination about what is happening and why.
I loved the four characters in this story, Elle and Ben are the young people who find themselves on Mistletoe Square the week before Christmas. Elle after a broken romance, losing her job and home and Ben after breaking up with his long-term girlfriend. There they meet an eccentric old lady and her quirky housekeeper and the magic begins.
Nothing is as it seems in Christmas House, nor are its residents. This is the sort of story you will want to curl up with and not put down. Although I did work out some of the plot twists, it did not detract from my enjoyment of the story. This is defintely one to buy this Christmas time, although it would be enjoyable at any time of the year.

A take full of festive magic that is guaranteed to warm your heart. As soon as I started this novel I knew I would enjoy it. The characters are engaging, the story flows well and I found it hard to put down. It’s so descriptive you really feel as if you’ve been transported to Mistletoe Square. A fabulous Christmas read that I can highly recommend. Thank you to NetGalley, Little, Brown Book Group and the author for the chance to review.

I absolutely loved this magical, fascinating story with a time travel element. The characters of Elle, Ben, Estelle and Angela are all unforgettable. The book was well researched and I was intrigued by the story of the house in different eras all set at Christmas time. This author has a huge talent for weaving magic and mystery into her novels which always has me totally enthralled. Although the story moves around between different years, past and present, it is never confusing. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes romance sprinkled with magic and a little bit of fantasy. A total delight. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an ARC which I happily and voluntarily review.

As I started reading this, I was unsure that I was going to like it because it jumped from the past to the present. I am so, so glad that I stuck with it and read three quarters of the book in one sitting because I wanted to see what happened next.
The author did a great job of providing such detail as to how things came to be and the relationship between the characters was so sweet to observe.
If I had to choose a word to describe this book, it would be magical. I truly loved every minute of it.
Thank you to NetGalleyand Little Brown Group for an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

This is simply a great five-star read no matter the time of year you read it. I am not normally a fan of the snow, but I would happily put up with it to visit Mistletoe Square, I don’t know what to tell you about this story that won’t give a tiny spoiler, as its so great, that once you get the reveal you are stunned at how you didn’t pick up earlier the tiny clues. Christmas House brings the magic of Christmas to you, no matter the time of year, but I know I will be picking this one up again at Christmas just to bring the joy back. I will be honest this wasn’t always joyful, I broke my heart a couple of times, but it was put back together so well. Ben and Elle will sweep you up in their journey through their Christmas with eccentric Estelle and Angela, and all of the other amazing Christmas stories.
